What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Visit as many times as you can! Go on the college-sponsored tours, but also see if you can go on tours from students that haven't been hired as tour guides; they will tend to be more honest and open. Do overnights as well: stay in the dorm you will most likely be living in as a first year if you plan on attending a college far from home. Once enrolled, attend the college activity fairs to see all the different clubs the campus has to offer. Do what interests YOU! Be yourself.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Muhlenberg was the perfect choice for me - small classes, individualized attention, and not too shabby to look at either. I've found that I can really be the person I want to be, do the things I want to do, excel both in and out of the classroom, and have memories and friendships that will go beyond my four years at Muhlenberg College!

This is a small, Lutheran based school that has enough students to give you your taste of college life, but is safe enough for freshman to begin to be on their own. The college is lovely and filled with history. Anyone can find what they need here at Muhlenberg College. It has a diverse curriculum that is strong in the sciences, art, economics and art!

What are the academics like at your school?
Professors absolutely know your name. Classes are tiny; my intro to psych was a lecture class and it probably had around 35 kids. Class participation counts towards your grade, as does attendance, which definitely motivates you to go to class.
Students have intellectual conversations outside of class if they want to, but its also easy to avoid if you want.

What are the most popular student activities/groups?
By senior year so many people have boyfriends. There are over 100 clubs, as well as four sororities, four fraternities and a few other Greek organizations. On Saturdays if you don't want to drink sometimes there are small performances in our student union. I met my closest friends through Greek life.
People party however much they want. There are some people who wind up drinking 5 times a week and go out, and some who don't.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
I absolutely love Muhlenberg. It is such a warm place. For me, the size is just right.
Allentown itself isn't really utilized by students except to go to Panera or get Asian food; other than that people really tend to stay on campus.
School pride for football is minimal, but some people go to soccer and basketball games and they can be a lot of fun.

Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
After having spent my first year here at 'Berg, I can honestly tell you that this stereotype does not hold true. Coming from the East Village in New York City, I had friends of all nationalities, races, and religions. When I came here to campus last fall, I was taken aback by how many places on campus in which diversity was present, after having read all these blogs. From the Multicultural Center, to clubs like Comunidad Latina and Gay-Straight Alliance(GSA), you can definitely find diversity on campus. One of my favorite parts of Freshman Orientation weekend was seeing a production performed by students through the Sedehi Diversity Project. This project, created by a Muhlenberg Alum who graduated in 2008, deals with questions like "What is diversity?" and "How diverse is our campus?" Various students on 'Berg's campus are asked questions like these, and their responses are all put together into this piece. I absolutely loved seeing the piece and hearing about students' honest responses to diversity here on campus. The pieces highlighted the fact that diversity spans not only the racial spectrum, but also the religious, ethnic, and sexual orientation spectrums, which are all represented on Muhlenberg's campus.
