What attracts me to NJIT is how much it feels like the right place for me. The campus is small and welcoming, which I really appreciate. It has a cozy, homey atmosphere that makes it easier to imagine myself settling in and feeling comfortable. As someone who’s more introverted, that sense of calm and community really matters to me. Academically, NJIT is known for being a rigorous and challenging school. That only makes me want to attend even more. I don’t want an easy path, no, I want to grow. I want to push myself, learn from the best, and walk away knowing I earned every step. The fact that it’s known for its strong programs, especially in technology, tells me this is where I’ll be tested, supported, and prepared for whatever comes next. I’m planning to pursue a degree in Information Technology, and NJIT has always been my top choice. It’s one of the best public schools in the state for tech, and the opportunities it offers are exactly what I’ve been searching for. On top of that, being just a train ride away from New York City adds even more potential for internships, networking, and experience. I already have a few friends on campus, and hearing about their experiences only makes me more excited to join the NJIT community. My overall rating of NJIT? A heartfelt 10 out of 10. It’s more than just a school, it’s where I see my future beginning.

This college I am starting in the fall of 2024 is a magnificent college that has a lively community. The community of the school is very sociable from academics to extracurricular activities. Due to the difficulty of the classes from taking calculus to chemistry, there are multiple resources to use from professors' office hours or tutors who are available. Then, there is a live community of NJIT students on Discord. This community can provide many resources that can help students in their classes. The school is different from high school. It's a tough school, but it has many resources.

NJIT is overall a great school especially for anyone pursuing an engineering degree. You will find a lot of like-minded people, amazing opportunities, brand new facilities like the WEC, and D1 athletics. There is always something to do on campus. Academics are rigorous but, it prepares you for a career in your desired field in my opinion.

I enjoyed New Jersey Institute of Technology. Although I am not a student, I have visited the college plenty of times in the past 5 years(basically every summer). The school energy is quite interesting and intriguing, the students are diverse racially and personally, and the Division 1 sports(volleyball! my favorite) are beautiful to watch.

My experience at NJIT has been amazing so far. The staff, faculty and students try their hardest to make you feel at home. As a first semester freshman, I already have a great outlook on the campus and my future at this institution. My classes are very educational, and informative. I have learned more from my professors than I have during my previous years in high school. Most importantly, I have established a wonderful set of friends who have similar academic interests as me.

NJIT provided a great educational experience that was focused on academics. If you are going to school for the party, this is not your place. Some of the professors are getting up there in years and have a hard time really teaching the material. However, for every one of those professors there are two more that are ready and willing to help you with anything and make learning the first priority.

NJIT is a school with many entitled kids. The male to female ratio of the school is quite the difference. There is a lot of entitled people especially amongst the athletes. They are a lot of sources to do well. The school offers many sources to do well, and offers many tutoring center for students so they can succeed. NJIT is a top research university, and it's open for people in any major. I would recommend NJIT for a student who wants to receive a good education, but if you are person who wants the college experience, NJIT is not the school for you.

Absolutely Love It. It is a fantastic experience. There is an incredibly friendly community on campus. Regardless of background everyone is ready to mingle with everyone else. Many professors deeply care about making sure their students are succeeding in class.

Personally, if you are going to learn and do not wanna have fun, this is a school for you. Commuter lifestyle is the worst. There is not much to do outside of the school as it is located in Newark. Sometimes there are events that are fun but not many people actually show up.

My overall opinion of NJIT is that it is an amazing school that is constantly evolving and re-innovating itself in terms of the services they offer to their students. The campus is vast at first, but after a few weeks on campus, you begin to get comfortable with the layout and learn how to navigate effectively.

New Jersey Institute of Technology is an amazing school to attend. It provides students with the challenge and rigor needed to face the real world. Freshman such as myself usually have a hard time adjusting if not well prepared coming in, but I can assure you that the students who have stayed with the school in semesters that followed after their Freshman year have become great students and graduates of NJIT that go off to acquire magnificent jobs in the field that they studied for.

NJIT is a great institute. The education is decent, the extracurricular activities are good, it’s constantly being improved, and the community is warm. For the education we are getting with the price, it’s is a great school to attend. People who attend this school lack much ego and are down to Earth. We all understand that college is difficult and we must help each other along to succeed Professors are thrown around from class to class here at NJIT . For example, my differential equations professor is an adjunct who has never this topic. However, some professors are very knowledgeable in the subject they teach. Those classes end up being most enjoyable but they aren’t until the student enters their third year. The activities here at NJIT are pretty good. I used to be on the track and field team here and I must say I enjoyed it. Everyone on the team is extremely nice and always willing to help. The team was run fairly well given our circumstances and I can honestly say it was a pleasure to be a part of. Furthermore, clubs are a great thing to be apart of at this institute. With a new Makerspace that has all of the best equipment while having good funding to support projects, I feel our school is the best to attend for those who are more hands on. I love the creative atmosphere here. It really helps the student engage in personal projects as well as join clubs that show their strengths. I believe college is what you make out of it. If you choose to be miserable then you will be. I choose to make the best of what I have. Its 4 years of my life, its time to stop complaining, but to make my time here enjoyable.

I believe that it is a beautiful park in a not-so-great city. The campus itself is lovely, the education is top notch, and the people there are there to learn and are motivated individuals who, for the most part, care about education and the world around them. I cannot wait to attend NJIT in the fall!

My overall opinion of NJIT is that its an underrated school that has a lot to offer. Academically its very challenging but there is a great payoff because the school really works to connect their students to prospective future employers so that students can have a job lined up when they graduate.

When visiting, the staff and students were very welcoming. Conversations were held and help was offered. I could see the school spirit in every hallway and room I entered, and received a very positive vibe when on campus. I hope to attend NJIT and genuinely enjoyed visiting!

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The only thing I think that my school is not doing right , is the cost of tuition its over board. The prices are going higher than usual. They should have more scholarships for student who are trying to do something good in there lifes but dont have a high gpa they should offer more help to students that have low income and are not residents of the United States. They're making those students drop there career, working in warehouses and factory, cause they cant successed in life. Students need more support and need to be taken more in consideration.

My School is best known for being the only school in New Jersey that works hand and hand with the National Architectural Accrediating Board (NAAB) for architect majors. Meaning if you are planning to get licensed as an architect in the future and would like to stay in state, then New Jersey Institute of Technology is the school for you.

  11. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

The most popular groups and teams on campus are greek life and the volleyball team. Even though these are the big things for social life, there arent many supporters. Again, social life is really bad. Most social life takes place in the pub or frat parties, other than that, people arent really that social, because many are commuters. The nightlife isnt big at all at njit, not many people are walking around excited what to do during the night. Even during NJIT day, not many people seem enthusiastic about it. The pub is pretty small, and not that active. Personally i am part of a frat, so my social life is pretty good.

I don't brag about my school. I just say it is a difficult school to be in.

  13. What is your overall opinion of this school?

From my experience, NJIT is a mediocre school. A few things I would like improved would be: to renew or expand the campus, to reexamine some professors because they really don't seem qualified to be teaching, and sadly there needs to be a larger female population. My school is far too small, I sometimes feel like I'm attending an extension of high school. The surrounding area around NJIT is also not too friendly. Many people do not want to live in Newark or even go off campus due to muggings and robberies that take place. My complaints of NJIT are fairly prolific throughout the school.

    Read all 10 answers
  14. What are the academics like at your school?

The answer to this question varies greatly, and is certainly subjective. I'm majoring in IT currently but I enjoy programming, and I know for a fact that half of the people in all of my IT classes would say that they hated it because it required some programming. That being said, I would say there are more bad professors than good professors. I've had a couple that I really enjoyed, who were very knowledgeable and challenging, and more often I get professors that are either too easy or don't seem fit for the job. Students at NJIT are not very academically competitive, and the academic requirements are quite low. Many people don't even seem to want to be there most of the time, but this may just be because they haven't found a suitable major.

  15. What kind of person should not attend this school?

If you don't know what you want to major in or lack organizational skills you may find this school to be difficult to attend as you may fall easily behind. There is little to no tolerance for late turned in work and while some professors will allow you to do extra work for a missing grade it is not an adviced course of action here. Math and Physics are not courses for the faint of heart, if you lack an affinity for mathematics or science this school should be avoided.

Sports aren't that big here but the sports scene is growing. The school is putting more money into athletics and we have new facilities for athletes and students to use. Soccer is big here, even though we're not the best, you will usually see groups of students playing soccer on the new field.
