Students are NC State University are some of the most diverse and globally involved that I have ever met. Everyone is very open and accepting of each other's orientations. There is an even mixture of in an out of state students as well as American and international students that comprise the body as a whole. There are certain cliques of students but no one presents themselves as mutually exclusive. With over 600 students clubs and registered organizations, students have the ability to meet others from all walks of life which really helps to enrich their college experiences. However, there have been difficulties with racism, vandalism, and discrimination like many universities deal with. To combat these unsettling behaviors, NC State has created candlelight vigils throughout the years, has made focus groups, and committees to help promote diversity among the campus. Generally the students feel safe, loved, and most importantly accepted regardless of background in any number of things.

We have a very diverse population at NC State. We have students of different backgrounds (race/ethnicity, religious, urban/rural, etc), and we also have a pretty good size population of out-state and international students.

It is impossible to describe a “typical” student at NC State. Our campus is so diverse with students from every background imaginable. There are student organizations that appeal to students with different cultural, religious and political interests. In addition there are events and organizations that bring everyone together. This diversity is what makes our school so great.

One of the most wonderful aspelcts of NC State is it's diversity. When we say we have a diverse campus, we most certainly mean it. There are organizations for just about any groups and interests you can think of. For example, the religious groups, such as the Christian Fellowship, the Jewish Hillal, and the Muslim Students Association, get together and plan may interfaith events.

The students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. NC State's campus is very diverse and aims for diversity. If you were to look at a group of kids in the dining hall, picture every possible scenario of the different types of people that are sitting with others. Seriously. We have a multitude of organizations that cater to every ethnicity here. We even have agricultural awareness week with cows, chickens and John Deer tractors in the middle of the Brickyard. You also get every type of financial background. I will say, I believe it is mostly middle class but you do have all types. People do talk about how much they will earn each day. Not necessarily their wage, but their annual salary. They want to aim big, which means they want to be successful, which means they want to do well in their courses.

Although NCSU is often regarded as a white southern school, there are over 30,000 people here and anyone, regardless of race, gender, etc., can find their niche. There are over 500 student organizations that represent all types demographics and backgrounds.
