There are all types of groups related to race, religion, etc. Campus crusade practically bombarded everyone to join them at the beginning of the year, this week we're having a Pan-Afrikan assembly, there are so many groups that are geared towards that kind of stuff.
The only kind of student that would feel out of place at NCSU would be a UNC fan.
Students wear everything to class, I've heard that the year before I came here there was a boy who wore underwear and a bowtie to class. I try to dress nicely so I wear a dress and heels on my nicer days and nice jeans and a shirt on my casual days. There are girls who I am friends with who I have never seen in anything other than oversized gym shorts and t-shirts. Guys wear anything from overalls to dress pants, there is no common style of dress.
There is plenty of interaction between differents students. There is no real division among the lines of race or religion or anything else like that. Everyone is kind of friends with everyone.
Most NCSU students are from North Carolina, with some from Virginia. There are a lot from Raleigh and Charlotte.
I would say that the financial backgrounds are from average to above average, but there are always people who are less fortunate than others as well, and it seems that people are always willing to help them out if they can.
Students are very much politically aware, and I would say that they are generally conservative, but that could very well be inaccurate simply because almost every single one of my friends is conservative so that is all I am exposed to.

I haven't really been involved with many racial experiences. There is a broad racial group found at NC State so I can't single out a type of student that might feel out of place at NCSU. To class, I wear jeans and a t-shirt. I always feel comfortable because I know I am not being judged.

The student body at NCSU is very diverse. Because many different types of people attend State i don't think that anyone would ever feel out of place. I would probably say that the majority of NCSU students are from North Carolina and surrounding states such as Virginia, South Carolina etc. It would be hard for me to say about the political side of State students, i myself lean towards the right, but i would guess that the majority or ether somewhere in the middle or lean to the left.

A lot of people I have met here come from smaller towns or less diverse areas. I am glad that NC State provides a diverse campus because although my high school and home town was extremely diverse, I think others need to be exposed to diversity in college especially if they were not at home. Diversity is a good thing to have on a college campus because it brings different perspectives to the table.
sarah
Very diverse, but most students are from within North Carolina. There's always the occasional student from out of state, and we're always like "so, why did you choose State?"
. It probably gets annoying to them. There are a lot of middle easterners in the engineering department, but that program isss internationally known. I wouldn't say there is a predominant political influence here. All different types of students interact.
Claire
the student body is very diverse and i don't see any problem with that
Alison
NCSU is a conservative school.
Hannah
the student body is very diverse

I feel NCSU tries particularly hard to include diversity within the school. I have friends and classmates of almost all races, and I like learning about their backgrounds and their differences from mine.
Most students wear jeans and a t-shirt to class. Or at least, that's what I wear.
Katie
No comment really. Most people at NCSU seem pretty down to earth, thats why I choose NCSU over Chapel Hill. The student body has a wide range of people.
Katie
i think we have a diverse student body
Maureen
Is full of wolfpack pride.

the only group i am in on campus is a sorority. i would like to get more involved though. most students wear jeans and a t-shirt to class. everyone interacts and it is a very accepting school. a lot of ncsu students are from raleigh and other cities in north carolina.
erin
I think different types of students interact with one another in the classroom. However, in most cases people tend to stick to their friends which can be seen anywhere and ti is very common. Students wear jeans to class, the dress is very casul. Most NCSU students are from North Carolina
Andy
All of the students here are diverse, even in the same social circle.
Sarah
awesome, republicansss
alison
NCSU students are often more welcoming than students of other schools. Most students dress very comfortably for class. Most state students are from noth carolina... many from raleigh.
Carrie
Most students dress comfortably to class and rarely dress up. Most students are from North Carolina and rarely do I meet people outside of the state.
Emily
There's a new LGBT center on campus, which I think is awesome. I don't think anyone would feel out of place here because there's agriculture, english, engineering, you name it. There are Greeks, musicians, Campus Crusade, service organizations. most students are from North Carolina, but as a Virginian, I absolutely love it.
