I really enjoyed the University of North Georgia's main campus in Dahlonega. The town is small, and quite, nestled in North Georgia's beautiful mountain region. The class sizes are not outrageous and the majority of the professors are great. The college has grown tremendously since I graduated 3 years ago, and I know they could use more parking for their commuting students. There was plenty of times I was late or parked somewhere I shouldn't because I couldn't find parking- this includes my graduation day!

The school is great, the students and staff are very friendly. The campus also feels very homey and safe. The teachers really listen and are understanding with the students and give them encouragement to complete work. I would really recommend my friends and family to visit or apply.

The University of North Georgia is a great school to attend. It is extremely safe, has a beautiful atmosphere in the mountains, and has lots of history and traditions because of the Corps of Cadets. While not everyone is a military student, the military lifestyle and traditions are definitely a big part of our school and that is one of the things I love about it.

I am currently a sophomore at the University of North Georgia. During the time that I have been enrolled there, I have enjoyed having the opportunity to meet classmates with similar interests and to share our experiences on campus. There are a variety of extracurricular activities to partake in.

North Georgia is a safe and friendly environment. However, it lacks in spirit, sports, and activities. I felt like I was always in my apartment, studying, or at the gym. I hung out with friends in private settings but they're is not a huge party or social culture. They are very focused on the military and ROTC students are held to a very high standard (practically worshiped). It is easy to stay focused on school because of the lack of opportunities to have fun and be a normal college student, so if that is what someone is looking for, I suppose it is perfect for them. It is a very good school in a lot of ways but it just was not a good fit for me personally.

I like UNG for a lot of reasons. It's small, the campus is beautiful (Dahlonega), and the classes are good. However, it has a lot of problems as well. The food is very bland and costs too much for what you pay for it and there is a massive diversity problem. The Dahlonega campus especially is mostly white and that has created a lot of ignorance on campus. The university is working towards fixing it, but it's a slow process. Overall, once UNG gets some of it's problems fixed, I'm sure it will be an even better institution.

North Georgia is amazing. Everyone is open and nice. The campus is always clean and pretty. The dorms and classrooms are really nice. There are a lot of clubs you can join and the same with greek life. The teachers do an amazing job with their jobs and are easy to talk to.

Don't go there if you are wanting to pursue a career in art. The art program is pretty awful, and there are a handful of professors that they hired that aren't even qualified for their job. They don't accept AP art credits (even though it is listed on their website that they do) and force all students to start at the same level. It makes students very uncomfortable to be in their first studio class ever, surrounded by artists who have been doing it for years.

By far the best school in Georgia. Its a place for learning, growing and developing as a student and a person. All professors care for your well being and want to see you succeed. The class sizes are perfect, but would love to see sorority and fraternity life grow. Overall, there's no other placed I would rather go to school!

This school is home to me. I couldn't be more happy here. I have gained some of the best of friends that I believe will be in my life forever. UNG makes everyone feel like they're important and a part of something. We have clubs and sports recreational teams for everyone. Even the professors make you feel important and care about your opinion. Overall, I call UNG home and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

It’s very home-y to me. I feel like everyone fits in there without discriminating. Overall there is a lot offered at UNG and continues to grow. Everyone I have met on campus is very nice including faculty. There are a lot to do on campus outside of class. Ung tried to involve everyone in every aspect of life. If there isn’t something for you, you can create it yourself.

The University of North Georgia is trying to up it's clout in the university system of Georgia. They are doing so by offering affordable classes and tacking on a lot of fees for nonexistent services, or unnecessary things, and not keeping up with improving and expanding to fit the large influx of students.

North Georgia has now become the University of North Georgia, which has helped it achieve a higher ranking. It's a great school that is more affordable than most. Its academic programs are competitive, and it offers a way for most students to get involved.

I have enjoyed the past two years that i have attended this University. It is filled with tradition and ambitious students wanting to pursue a higher education. I am proud to say that i will graduate from The University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.

I love it here. It wasn't my first choice of university and to be honest I never even toured the campus before I paid my tuition but I am so happy this is where I ended up. The classes are rigorous and the teachers truly care whether you succeed or not. I've met some of my best friends here and I have never, not once, felt as though I was in danger.
If you're looking for a place that is accepting and are ready to challenged UNG is the place for you.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Now being a sophomore in college the one thing I would tell myself if I could go back in time would be to take as many AP classes as I could and work on study habits. It would have been so much easier if I had taken the AP classes and get the needed score so I wouldn't have to take as many core classes in college. It can save you so much money. Another piece of advice would be to develop good study habits early on. I was always good at school, but the way college is set up is totally different, and at first it was a huge struggle trying to adapt to how the classes were, but once you get the hang of it and learn time management it is not that bad. The changes we go through make us who we are and I truely would not change a thing.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst things about my school are its policy on living situations for the first year as well as the high priced meals. The first year of college you don't have the option to live off campus unless you live with your parents. The meals are a bit pricey too especially for the quality.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I constantly brag about the safe and accepting environment on campus. Students also tend not to support cliques or make judgments of others. While I am significantly older than the majority of the student population, I have not once felt that I don't belong. The campus itself is also gorgeous and lies in a very small community that offers hometown values as a backdrop. Finally, my college houses the Military College of Georgia and the discipline required for a successful military results in a campus-wide attitude of respect, dignity and pride among all our students.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
There are no dorms on campus. It makes it really difficult to meet and retain friends as well as get comfortable with the campus. It doesnt feel like college. The parking is also limited which causes students to be late for their class when it's not their fault.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
83% of students attending North Georgia College & State University receive some sort of financial aid.
