OSU is filled with opportunities. There are lots of internships, researches, and job openings available on campus. It could come across as a daunting task to find the right one for a specific applicant. The list of things one has to learn and read about is quite long. If the person doesn't like putting his/her time into just looking things up then he/she'd better choose a smaller college where everything comes smaller.

I consider the worst thing about my school is the intense competition and how hard the science tests are. The competition and test can cause severe anxiety and extremes. I know many students on anxiety medication orabusing ADD medication for studying and tests.

The worst thing about The Ohio State University is the lack outdoor seating for students. It is really a shame since the school has a great deal of historical value and its campus is gorgeous. I think that architectural seating would create culture and a collective atmosphere on campus grounds.

The worst thing about Ohio State University is the freezing cold temperatures in the winter and having to walk long distances in class in it.

The worse thing about Ohio State University, I believe is its emphasis on sports. A lot of money, time, and resources are spent on the collegiate sports. Despite the school making tremendous revenues from sports, I feel that ratio of money spent to money earned on such activities is astronomically larger versus other parts of the school. (e.g - academic services)

While the size of the Ohio State University offers some positive aspects, it also offers some negatives aspects. The fact that the Ohio State University has over fifty thousand students, some individual's education suffer. Since there are so many students, how is it possible for each teacher to get to know each and every individual student and help them fully understand the material? The quarter system makes it very difficult for the students to complete all of the assigned homework by the assigned deadline. It makes every assignment a stressful "mad-dash" to the finish.

I really don't think there is anything bad about Ohio State. It's a great campus with great faculty. My experience has been nothing but possitive thus far.

It is so far from home. A nice ten hour drive from my home back in the south. If the university could do something about the cold too, that would be pretty handy as I am not used to winters where there is actually snow.

I would say the dorms are the worst thing about my school. They're so tiny! They're like crib-space for sleeping, that's it.

It is the size of many cities. With a faculty and student population close to 100,000 combined, it is easy to feel small and overwhelmed. You can make your community as big or small as you'd like, whether that be your dorm room, floor, building, or side of campus. It would still be nice to be able to walk from one end of campus to the other in under 20 minutes; especially in winter.

To me, the worst thing about my school is the distance from my family and friends at home. Even though I'm only two hours away, it can feel like I'm ten hours away at times. Luckily, I'm comforted by dozens of phone calls, cards, letters, and sometimes even visits! Although I sometimes get upset over the distance, I have never regretted my decision to attend The Ohio State University.

The worst thing about Ohio State that I've experienced is the student-to-faculty ratio. It's a large school, and most classes are large lecture hall. Because of this, it's hard to get on a personal level with any of your professors. This makes it difficult when asking for recommendation letters etc. when applying for internships and job oppurtunities.

The worst thing about this school would probably be an excess of social activities available to students here. Being located right next to the city of Columbus encourages off campus activities and promotes attending bars, musical venues, and other such forms of entertainment. To be honest, I feel many students aspire to go to this college for that very reason, as well as the loyalty to the football program. Learning to balance academics and ones social life is probably the biggest obstacle students at The Ohio State University face. It is a blessing and a curse at the same time.

It's too large for some students and overwhelms them.

There is not really anything I do not like about my school. I love it a lot but if I had to pick anything it would probably be that it is so big and takes a while to walk to classes. Even so, I do not really mind that.

Although this aspect did not turn me off when chosing a school, I believe the biggest deterrent for most high school students would be the same reason OSU is so well known,; its size! The Ohio State Univeristy is a large school and can be intimidating to a young adult. As I became comfortable at OSU I realized that the school seems a lot bigger than it is. Students find their eventually find their niche and suddenly OSU isn't so intimidating, everyone has a place here.

Losing a book borrowed from the library puts a student indebt of $140 dollars no matter how much the school paid for the book.

Being a non-traditional student, I believe the worst thing has been feeling that a lot of the forms (i.e. paperwork) and support do not take into account the experience of the older student. Ohio State University is one of the largest schools, if not the largest school, in the United States and feeling that a network exits is important.

The school is large, so it is easy to get lost if you don't try to make friends and get to know your professors.

Perhaps the worst thing about Ohio State is the incredible size of the University. Forming true friendships, and really getting to know people is quite difficult as outside of class it may be impossible to ever see someone because the campus is so extensive.
