It is very large, and the campus is becoming more dangerous than it used to be. I do not feel safe walking around past 9 o' clock at night.

I feel that the worst thing about OSU is that the weather and the size of our campus is a disadvantage to us. It isn't fun walking to class a long ways off in snow or rain. The size isn't really the problem, it's more the weather than anything. On a nice day, it feels great to go on a long walk through campus and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but when it rains or snows, it really is terrible walking to class. I loathe every minute of each walk.

The worst thing is adjusting to the large classes. No one is pushing you to do well, there are too many students in a class. You must push yourself. You must learn to make yourself known to the professors if you wish to get one-on-one help or attention.

The worst thing about OSU is its refusal to cancel classes. Unfortunately, this can mean trekking across the largest single campus in the United States in two foot high snow. Yes, they do clear walkways and roads, but only the main ones and the dorms aren't on the more common roads, so we students end up packing down snow until there's just this hard layer of grey snow on our walkways.

The worst thing is something thats for the better- how competitive admission to certain majors are. Its bad because there are no guarantees that you will get into the program you want to, but at the same time it shows that the programs are excellent because they are so selective.

There are just so many people there that students tend to get lost in the background.

Parking. There are not enough parking spots to go around and you have to buy an expensive parking pass but it does not guarantee you a spot. You also have to walk from the parking lot to the building you are headed.

Math courses. The professors don't care to teach us well and the TAs aren't much better. And we can't teach ourselves the material because the textbooks are confusings.

There is a large number of classes where the required textbook is authored by an Ohio State proffessor. Although this is a prestigious school, this action can seem a little arrogant.

The worst thing about Ohio State is the also the best thing about Ohio State: the number of people. Ohio State is one of the largest universities in terms of undergraduate students so the streets and side walks can be really busy. Also waiting for food can be a pain with so many students. However, because there are some many students, Ohio State is an awesome place learn about different cultures and different walks of life.

I feel that my school does not accurately reflect the general population of my state and my country. Many of the students (not all, but most) at Ohio State are white, middle-class, and come from Christian households. The diversity of the student body is restricted to a number of students visiting from other countries, and the university promotes itself as a place that is much more diverse than it is. The studenty body at Ohio State is so large that students of different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds self-segregate themselves, thus weakening their own undergraduate experience.

The worst thing about Ohio State is the that many science faculty members are more focused on their research their research than teaching. A lot of their lectures are based on their labs and research rather than teaching the course. They are getting paid to research here and only teach because it is part of their contract for doing research. Some of the research is interesting, but it is mostly unrelated, and sometimes causes teachers to be uninterested in helping students outside of class.

The worst thing about my school is the attention to paid to athletics and "practical" majors, such as business and medicine. As an art history student I would have like to seen as much attention paid to the art department.

The worse thing about my school is that it probably offers too many opportunities that students can not be involved with every single one they are interested in.

Interestingly enough, the same thing that makes OSU a great, unique college is also the worst thing about the school - the size. OSU is huge, and while there are many classes, organizations, clubs, research positions, and interships avaiable, only students who actively seek to get involved will find the opportunities. You must be a very self-motivated person to succeed at OSU, otherwise there is the possibility that you'll get "lost in the crowd." The size of OSU requires YOU to make your college experience as fulfilling as you want - no one is going to spoon feed you here.

It is very easy to fall into the wrong group of friends. So be very careful when you start meeting people.

The TAs hired for classes are sometimes lazy and do not teach the subject very well.

The worst thing (which is also it's best thing, oddly enough) is the huge amount of people. It's like many people say, you sometimes feel like a number. The hugeness of it all make you feel small and insignificant at times. But for the most part, if works out really well.

The worst thing about the current university I am attending is that the classroom size is enormous. My lecture halls are completely filled with approximately 200 students. The professors have no direct contact with you as a student unless you go out of your way to introduce yourself and visit during them during their appointed office hours.
