I think that Ohio University Chillicothe (OUC) offers a blend of "small campus charm" and the academic resources that you would expect on a bigger campus. As a current student, I can say it excels in creating a close-knit community. The small class sizes allow for more personalized learning and professors are usually very approachable and knowledgeable! Additionally, OUC is quite affordable, offering a solid array of courses without the burden of excessive debt.
With this being said, OUC does have its downsides, with the major one being little to no extracurricular activities. This makes me and other students alike feel left out of the luxuries that Ohio University Main Campus gets to experience such as sporting events.
Though, overall, I would highly recommend OUC to people to who value affordability and strong faculty connections!

I love our Chillicothe campus. It isn't a main campus so we don't have on campus housing which means when your at school nothing super crazy and distracting is going on. Our advisors are helpful and always hold regular office hours to be there when we need them. Our campus is well kept and beautiful.

Love this college, honestly. The town of Chillicothe can be hit or miss depending on where you are, but OUC is situated in a good part of town near historic Downtown Chillicothe, so there is always something interesting, fun, and productive going on. The professors are, for the most part, enthusiastic and relatable.

I feel like there is no life outside of class, no one really talks to each other and no one really hangs out on campus, after classes they usually go home. Also there is no security and that's scary. My course administrator told me that I should not have taken an art class and that they are discouraged. I feel like they are trying to push everyone to Main Campus. Half of my professors are not the best but I'm still doing great in all of my classes and that's all that matters.

It is a very well maintained environment. Everything is in close quarters and everybody is extremely friendly. The professors do everything they can to help, and the students are well mannered and focused. There are tons of activities going on through out the year so finding something you enjoy is very easy.

I believe that the Chillicothe branch of Ohio University is the perfect transition for any student going into college from high school. It’s an affordable way to achieve quality education that qualifies as a main campus degree. The smaller class sizes also make your education personal, giving you an improved chance of graduating. Our branch’s nursing college now beats out other branches in terms of quality nursing students and education, and the staff is there to ensure your success. I highly recommend it!

It's a great convenient campus close to home that provides everything a bigger college would. Although small, it has great resources available to make sure students get the college education they need. The classes are great and personable meaning the classes are never too big. With such small classes, it makes it easier to establish a connection with your professors who truly care about your success and are there to help if needed. It truly is a different atmosphere than a huge main campus university but that allows me to stay more focused on academics instead. Attending Ohio University Chillicothe has not only been a great personable experience but has allowed me to save money while continuing working towards a Ohio University degree.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Ohio University-Chillicothe Campus is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to focus on writing essays and applying for the most scholarships I can. When I was a senior, I automatically assumed I would not receive any of the major scholarships I had initially wanted. I would let myself know that there are people out there willing to help me get financial help and point me in the right direction. Grades were never really a problem to keep up, but I lacked the "pre-college" intellect since neither one of my parents attended college.
