I completed the Dental Hygiene degree completion program online and had a pretty good experience! It was straight forward and when I had questions, most of the time the instructors would reply to my messages quickly and helped me figure out what I needed to do.

Oregon Institute of Technology is a bit of a niche college. They are known for Engineering, Medical Imaging, their Nursing program, and have a very selective group of students that they cater to. If you are living on campus, the res hall tends to look like a prison. If you are looking for a degree in one of the aforementioned degrees that I listed in this essay, then Oregon Tech might be a great choice for you. There is little to nothing to do in Klamath Falls and the arts are not an area of focus for this college.

I can't say enough good things about the program I'm apart of. The diversity of teachers and support members was phenomenal. The year my paramedic coursework began, I was given the opportunity to work with a mentor who had gone through the same program years prior. Right away, I was surrounded with support, with peers, and years of experience to learn from. I was provided with an environment to thrive.

The school has some issues with the Administration and the faculty seeing eye to eye. Currently, our instructors are on strike (04/2021) and the whole situation is a mess. 92% of the faculty voted to have our schools president removed due to a lack of confidence. His job was saved by a board of trustees, and even after the strike gets resolved there will be tension as long as our current president Dr. Nagi Naganathan is around. I am not saying that Oregon Tech is a bad school, but read up on how the administration treats its faculty, and follows through (or doesn't) with promises they make to their students, before you decide to come here (or send your son or daughter here). Is the behavior and beliefs of the current administration something that you agree with? Do you think it is acceptable for a schools president to make over $500,000 per year (benefits included), yet deny his faculty cost of living raises? A simple Google search of "OIT strike" should give you plenty of reading material to help you make up your own mind.

Walking onto the Wilsonville Campus I knew this school was going to be a place that would push me to grow not only intellectually but as a person. OIT is about innovation and fostering people to go above and beyond to reach their goals or the goals they didn't even know they had.

Very motivated and approachable in the ways of academics. Heavily encouraged to do your best. Prepares you well for your future jobs. Even though Oregon Tech is a poly-Technic school, all other interests are encouraged and accepted. There is a wide variety of clubs and classes to get individuals involved.

My opinion of Oregon Institute of Technology is fantastic. When I was in eighth grade we took a tour with my Avid class it was nice meeting a bunch of students from different cultures and different reasons why they choosed to go there have really inspired me to want to apply there. I love how everyone is nice and always available if you need help on anything. There academics are improving and it helps with people learning new skills to achieve and be a good leader to everyone around them.

This is a pretty good school. It's in a small town so there's not much to do or many places to go. But the campus is small and cozy, the staff is friendly and very helpful. The general facilities aren't super up to date, but they're fine. I haven't seen most of the major-specific facilities but I assume they're pretty up to date.

Honestly, I know that Oregon Tech and just Klamath Falls in general isn't for everyone, but I love it. The small class sizes and availability of professors sincerely makes a difference in the educational experience. If you're looking for a quality education for a lower price, Oregon Tech is definitely the place to be.

Overall, Oregon Institute of Technology is an amazing college to get your degree from. The class sizes are usually a decent small, making it easier to have a one on one relationship with your professor. If you are looking to apply to some type of medical program, in my opinion, Oregon Tech had the very best teaching staff in the state. All of my teachers have been of the highest caliber. I feel very fortunate to be able to learn at this college and from the amazing teachers here.

Great class sizes, and the small community is awe-inspiring. There is always something physical to do, whether hiking or exploring, and the movies are always open. If you are a nerd you will fit right in here, and there are regular video game competitions happening around campus

My overall opinion of Oregon Tech is very positive. As far as the students on campus, people are very friendly. Class sizes are small, meaning students feel very connected to their professors. Being a member of the Oregon Tech Women's Soccer team, I see the impact of athletics on the community. I suggest joining a team or one of the several club options that they offer here at Oregon Tech because I have met some of my best friends while on the soccer team. The Outdoor Program allows students to take part in really fun outdoor activities for very cheap. The skiing and snowboarding day passes are only around thirty dollars which includes all the rental equipment you would need. The cardio room offers a variety of good quality equipment, but the gym I would describe as being subpar. As far as the location of the campus, Klamath Falls is a beautiful little town. The sunsets here are breath taking and town offers numerous dining choices. I would strongly recommend Oregon Tech if you are looking for a smaller college that offers specific degrees in the areas of medicine and engineering.

Great school with a lot of resources to assist in getting to your goals. Has been nice to be able to get exactly what I wanted from a school. Teachers, and staff are all so welcoming. There is a gym that is free to students as well that I use to.my advantage.

Oregon Institute of Technology is a GREAT school for anyone wanting to pursue anything medical or engineering. The teachers are always willing to help you succeed and the class sizes are ideal! I love that students get to start off taking classes required for their major freshman year. However, some of the buildings need to renovated including the dorms (they're run down and not satisfying the needs of students). But overall, I have nothing extremely negative to say.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
High school sure is fun, and growing up takes time, but wise decisions such as saving money and giving each task you undertake one hundred percent will help you go far. Remember to write things down, a planner should become your best friend. Always be on time, your boss, and teachers never forget when you are late. Determination is on your side. You are just starting out on your own, mistakes happen, but use them as opportunities to learn and improve for the next time. Apply for college now, and don't put it off. You are smart and can take life to the next level right away by finding what you want to do and going after it. Don't waste your time, you will find you do not have enough to start with and it becomes less and less. Keep up the good work and you will be a success.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I think the worst thing about OIT would be the location. In the winter it snows TOO much and we would still have school. Klamath Falls is a small town and there isnt much do to here but study or have get -to-gethers.
The small classrooms, newer equipment for medical imaging technology programs. The small town climate and low cost of living, as well as affordable education for an awesome education.

We are a school focused on helping students succeed in finding a program that will provide them with a life long career. The teachers and staff help each student as an individual to follow the steps they need to reach their goals. The school is very green an enviromentally friendly. Oregon Institute of Technology is a place for students who want to learn, and get the most out of their education. There is a limited amount of distraction and the newest of equiptment for those going into the medical field, and electronics. The school just keeps getting better.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is the location of it. I do not like this city at all and wish that it was put somewhere more populated and maybe not so cold because the winter here is crazy.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
How hard that I have to work for my grades, the small sizes of the classes, and the work out I get from walking all the stairs on our campus. Also our basketball team-the Hustl'in Owls!
