I love Quinnipiac and the only thing I would really change is the cost of everything on campus and for this college in general.

Nikki

The best thing about Quinnipiac is the size, or at least for me. I love that I can walk down dorm road and see ten people I know without feeling lost. The campus is centered, so it's not scattered all over Hamden. Most people can't pronounce Quinnipiac so that gets annoying or they just have never heard of it. Most of my time is spent in the library studying because of my major. I think the administration is good for the most part, yet many professors are teaching who should not be. There isn't a ton of school pride and I'm not really sure why, but there are certain times when pride for our school is most noted.

Most people have never heard of Quinnipiac. I found out about it at a college fair and visited with a friend. I loved the campus, I thought it was beautiful. I didnt want to go to a large university so I thought the relative size of the school for me was perfect. I think well rounded, genuine people attend this school and arent just going to school because their parents want them to. Alot of students on this campus truely want to make a difference and are well on their way. I spend most of my time on campus and when I go out, I go out into New Haven where the "college" bar scene is. I think that there is alot of school pride and pride in the organizations people join. The most frequent student complaints are about the food, which could use a little improvement, but its college what do you expect. A few incidents have occurred since I have been at Quinnipiac, two deaths of students that I knew, and racial slurrs written on the walls. I feel that the school doesnt embrace and try to fix these problems. You cant just expect it to go away with an email.

Overall, I love Quinnipiac. It has a beautiful campus, lots of great students and faculty, and there's always something to do. Administration and security are a bit extreme, but they're nothing that you can't avoid. What I really love is that most students don't go home for the weekends--instead, they stay on campus, which is great for me because I love when it seems like everyone is still here and ready to socialize and have a good time. What's more, at this time of year, the quad is great, and I love when you see lots of students laying out in the warm sun.

The best thing about QU is it's gorgeous and safe campus. I would change how cheap the school is towards its students. Many of us are health science majors and are required to dress in a certain way and we have to pay for the clothing. Books and credits cost enough and to make us shell out more money is just rediculous. We are what makes this school what it is, you would think that the school could do the small things and provide us with what we need to do well. When i tell people I go to Quinnipiac, they generally give me a look "what did you say?" and I explain where the school is and then they always know someone who knows someone who goes or went here. The town of hamden is definately a college town, but when school isn't in session there is still plenty to do here. The administration is ridiculous on some of their rules and they should check where their priorities are. Recently the biggest controversy is over our "may weekend" or "maybe weekend" as many people are calling it on campus. There is some school pride, but I think that if we had a football team there would be way more emphasis on it. Something unusual about our campus, is that we live next to a state park. I will always remember the gorgeous campus and Sleeping Giant Mountain, as well as the gorgeous TD Banknorth Center that was just built; and of course, the people that I have met here. Most frequent complaints from students are how expensive the food is, we only have a certain amount of money to spend and its never enough for the guys, and they need a wider variety of what they offer; as well as more hours that the caf is open. There are also never enough spaces in the library.

QU, for me, is the perfect size but it is not diverse enough. There is a lot of racial tension and almost no diversity on campus which is very frustrating.

MacKenzie

Quinnipiac is a beautiful college with a lot of life time opportunities. If you come in with a good mind set and an open attitude you could experience a lot of great things and meet great people along the way. The teachers are all fantastic and helpful, and the atmosphere is pretty excepting. Athletics are always fun to watch because the school spirit is insane!!

Stephen

Night life is huge at Quinnipiac, students often like to go into New Haven with friends on thrusday's through the weekend. Everyone works very hard. One thing i would change is the dorm lottery system. It is very unfair.

Alyssa

The best thing about Quinnipiac is its size and its student teacher ratio. The faculty here is great and it is easy the establish a relationship with your professor. You are not just a number here, you are a person and you matter. If I had to change one thing about QU it would be tuition (obviously).

Nicole

I believe that Quinnipiac University is the perfect campus. It isn't too big, yet it is not too small. There is a perfect amount of student in our classes and the environment is beautiful. It sits across the street from the great sleeping giant mountain and offers students with a fun activity.
