Since Rowan College at Gloucester County is a Community College, we don't have housing so there isn't so much of a "culture" per se but I guess the best way to describe it would be well-kept. There are activities for those who want to partake and people generally stick to their own friend groups in the cafeterias and in the halls.

It's a great place to begin or finish your education.

The academic staff is friendly and most professors are available for helping their students. It is best to check on professors from past students to get a second opinion on what will meet your learning needs. They have tutoring available for struggling students.

I love the school and its staff. I learn a lot and rarely have I had any issues with students or staff. I enjoy going to class and there are always activities for the students to join in at. Plus, with your student ID most of these activities are free!

Overall thus far I am pleasantly pleased..I am extremely happy to participate in the Rowan Choice program because it enables me to live on campus. The staff is nice and available. The facilities are nicely kept. RCGC has a home away from home feel to it and this is very important to me.

I generally enjoy going to college at Rowan College at Gloucester County. Although the food is not great and there is not much nearby, their academics and facilities are fantastic. I am less concerned with Greek life and Sports, so I cannot rate them, but I work at the Tutoring Center and the Coaches and Instructors care about the students a lot. They often offer extra credit to come here and get papers looked at or have a better comprehension of Math problems.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is the best place to go to get an affordable education. It is also great because once you graduate, you can transfer to Rowan. A few years ago, I never would've pictured myself going here but now here I am and it isn't bad.

Overall it is a good school and cost efficient. Taking classes there is the smarter way to start school. When applying to various schools you must have a checklist of all the things you want and what they are offering. Seek the financial aid department ask tons and tons of questions don't leave until you feel you have enough information to gain an overall picture of the school and possibly come up with a decision to attend

The professors are usually pretty good, however there is little campus life due to it being a community college, therefore there are a lot/most of the students commute to school. I wish that there were more clubs and activities to help promote campus life, but it's an okay school.

It is called Rowan College at Gloucester County College now. It is a great college with easy classes and easy access to any on campus help needed. It's good for those who do not like too much on campus involvement. In fact, there is more in class involvement instead.

Most of the staff are great. They are caring, there for you, and teach well. Of course not all of them are like this, there are a few miserable old school teachers, but there are resources you can use to avoid them now. The campus is small and not really filled with life, but it is a community college, and Rowan is not too far away from it. There are a few typical clubs and societies that you can join. Not a fan of the food, I just avoid it. There is a Chick-fil-a and a target nearby. It is overall a good community college.

It is a great college for Gloucester County, particularly if you come immediately after graduating high school since you can save a lot of money before transferring to a four year school. It's also great for students wanting certificates and they have a great nursing program.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is truly a remarkable county college that goes the extra mile to ensure success for their students. I can say that the academics in this school are phenomenal. The teachers are always available to help a student if they are having trouble or they may suggest tutoring if they are tied up. The teachers, along with the academic counselors, love to develop relationships with their students and that is what every student needs to succeed.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back to my senior year self, I would tell myself to not slack off towards the end of the year. I started to get out of th habit of doing homework, which has proven to be a problem now that I am in college. I get all of my homework done, but after talking myself through it because of the lack of homework I had toward the end of senior year. Another thing I would tell my senior year self, and even my middle school self, is to get good studying habits. I never used to study throughout middle school or high school, therefore, I have very little study skills. This problem has proven itself every time I have an upcoming quiz or test. Learning amazing, or even subpar, studying habits will be incredibly helpful once you get into college.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I believe the worst thing about my school is the teaching style of most professors. Granted, having a teacher that fits a learning style of every individual student will be hard to find, but I have noticed that there haven't been many of my teachers that challenge me too much to learn difficult materials. It's not as interactive as I'd like, which doesn't force me to really understand a lot of material. There are many classes that students can just "get by" on because the difficulty level is so low.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I have just recently applied here and have not yet attended any classes, but it seems as though there are many different kinds of people that go here. Whether it is to transfer after two years or to graduate with their associates degree and start a career. It seems like it fits many people here.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
My school is unique because it understands the difficulty that people have in affording college. Tuition is basically the most affordable in my area, and the college is always doing things to help out students. They provide us with free tutoring, free parking, and free access to everything on campus basically. They even have fun activities that include seminars, free build a bear, and more! They understand that tuition can be a struggle, and they go out of their way to make the little things count for students who may be struggling.
Many people underestimate community colleges, but they are not only stepping stones to 4-year universities, but experiences in themselves. Gloucester County College is the best example of this; the best thing about my school is that the environment is extremely positive. People always hold the door for everyone, the staff are always more than happy to help students (and often go the extra mile with a smile on their faces), and there are always student activites occurring on campus. Gloucester County College definitely emphasizes being a community in a community college.
A person who is ready to work but might not be sure of what they're interested in. Also, someone who wants to save money by taking the same classes and prerequisits as other big name colleges.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
It is best to stay focused on your overall goal for your education. Don't lose track of your goal. Stay organized and keep a schedule of upcoming tasks/homework assignments. Don't let the stressers of everyday life interfere with your studies.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I like the class size. Thats important to me because they aren't that big. You get alot of one-on-one with the professors, which makes it easier for me to concentrate.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
What frustrates me the most about my school is the location which is relatively far from where I live. Also, the fact that I have to take the bus as my means of transportation to get there.
