There are a variety of degree and certificate programs which is great, some professors are amazing but others can be really terrible. Especially online professors. The administration is very disorganized and facilities like financial aid, residency and registration are very hard to get ahold of, which can be very frustrating and can lead to the loss of financial aid and other benefits.

Its a good school but it can get very chaotic. Instructors are doing very well with virtual school. Students are great and are usually very open to helping. Staff can talk awhile to respond to emails (1-2 weeks), might be due to covid but it can get frustrating.

Seattle Central College is a very diverse place to learn and get my education from. I am a high school student in the running start program but I do think it is a good school to attend. There are a lot of opportunities to do group work and individual work in classes. It is a good opportunity for me to attend this college while also still being in high school. At Seattle Central College, everyone is nice to you and the professors really care about you. You meet a lot of new people and build relationships with them.

Seattle Central has come really great instructors in the physics and math departments. Their administrative and advising staff, like many other schools, leaves a bit to be desired. It's a great place to get an affordable education with some decent clubs to join, but I wouldn't expect more than that.

I have really liked going to Seattle Central College. It is located in a great neighborhood with many restaurants and shops nearby. The teachers really care about the topics that they teach and they are very supportive and kind towards students. I enjoy my classes and I am always looking forward to attend classes.

I just started not long ago. I applied to Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy program and was accepted. I met with the director and she was absolutely humble and helpful with the entire process. Admission's went above and beyond and financial aid did the exact same. Thank you

Being from Indiana, I love having the chance to get away and go somewhere new and completely different, Seattle, being 1,000+ miles away from my hometown. The culture and atmosphere around Seattle are brand new, bright, vibrant and all around just incredible. Knowing I'm going to be attending Seattle Central for four years actually is great, I'm excited to meet all kinds of people from lifestyles and places I've never experienced. All in all, I'm in love with Seattle as a city, the residents and population of Seattle and the Seattle Central College as a whole.

Seattle Central College is a good place to start, especially if you're the first generation to go to college. However, depending of which major you choose, the experiences would be different. My friends who took chemistry at Central complained of the ineffective teaching and heavy amount of homework. On the hand, Central is very strong at humanities majors, you will find all the insprising, open-minded people here. That's also the reason Central has a friendly, liberal, and unprejudiced environment.

I think that Seattle Central College has a wide variety of programs, especially STEM, and extracurricular, like video game tournaments or talent shows. I was that kid who sat in the back and tried not to participate in in-class discussions as much as possible, but going to this college and being with a huge diversity of people who was willing to invite me to study with them after class. I have attended this school since a high school junior, as a running start student and this college was a great way for me to experience the college life while focusing on my academics. There are some teachers that I feel like they didn't teach the material well, and those who relied too much on powerpoint or worksheets expecting students to do the assignment without really showing examples on how to solve them in class which forces students to have to find time outside of class to get help. Luckily this school has a tutoring center and there are many students (since the class size is small) who are willing to help you.

It's a great place to go next year freshmen students attending college. I would like to be a student at this college because their teachers seem so helpful to their students I feel like they have done a lot of things for students. Their campus looks nice and comfortable.
Monica - 03/13/2018
I have attended many colleges in the greater Seattle area and Seattle Central is by far the most comfortable campus I have attended. The staff and students are very friendly and make you feel at ease. From the parking attendant that asks me every time I park how my day is going and gives me words of encouragement to the teachers who give me everything to succeed. In my program they even offer free tutoring to students that need extra time/help with their studies. At no cost! What school does that!

Please Sign Petition and Share to Boycott they called Sasha Banks & Snoop Dogg Cousin which is me Shabazz Sallier a n i g g e r and said my people comes from apes and that I was destined to fail! They won't remove a 0 grade that they put there because racist Al Souma Disability Director, Teacher Katie Chenu, Dean of complaints Ricardo Levya-Puebla and the rest of the school did not give me the proper accommodations as me being a student with a disability so I could graduate and succeed! All people with a disability deserve a fair right at education as any one else. BAN! http://seattlecentral.edu/

I think SCCCC is an okay college. The Professor are very nice but all of them teach differently and so some of them are hard. The other students are hard to talk to because we are all so different, coming from different places. The campus is okay as well, it is not really clean on the outside, there are also a lot of smokers in the front entrance.
Kimmarie - 06/22/2017
There is a culinary program so there is really good pastries and other food on campus. There is a good mix on traditional and non-traditional students so its easy to fit in. There is also many international students which make campus interesting. The academics is not the strongest as many of the students are there to get their grades up and transfer to a four year school. As far as community colleges go, it is a great school.

Seattle Colleges-Central provides students with the tools to succeed. Its important to get your life organized and be in the loop on everything, because no one is going to tell you what you should be doing. You gotta ask the right questions and don't let up until you're satisfied with the answers.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
There are a few things that I would tell myseld as a high school senior. I would tell myself to take school seriously. When I was in high school, I was all about having fun and hanging out with friends. I did not put as much thought into my work as I know I should have. Now that I'm in college I wish that I had focused and retained all that I learned back in high school. Taking those extra steps in high school like reading that extra book, looking up those extra words your didn't understand, staying home that night you had to finish homework, makes a difference for your future. You have your whole life to have fun and hang out with friends.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before i came to Seattle Central, i wish had been exposed to the practice of patience. I attended Wilberforce University in Xenia, Ohio before Seattle Central during my time there I would often make rash decisions never thinking about the consequences when it comes to my future. I made rash decisions regarding my academic future because I was young and truly didnot know what i wanted to do in the first place and secondly I was fully of myself and the talents I possess and believed I could adapt anywhere. Central has taught me to think more carefully and strategize.
Anyone and everyone should attend this school. Seattle Central College is such a diverse school. So many people from different places and cultures attend this school. It is great to not only learn from your teachers but other students as well.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I wish someone told me that financial aid does not end with the fafsa! There are so many steps after that, that still keep the financial aid deadline 'clock' ticking. And if you're not careful you could end up paying more out of pocket than you would hope.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
My school is not at all segregated or applicable to on demographic basis. There are classes to take from the most basic to the most advanced and this environment allows for personal growth and development to take place significantly.
My school is best known for its student population diversity and its willingness to partner with the community at large. We have programs for people at all levels, from Adult Basic Studies to English as a Second Language to Worker Retraining and other vocational programs to traditional transfwer programs to 4 year colleges, and we reach out to the community to let Seattle know that *everyone* can attend college and go where they want to be. in life
I am in a dental hygiene program with only 20 classmates. My classmates are hardworking, caring and intelligent. The 20 of us are like a family because we spend almost all of our time together and really enjoy are time with one another. My classmates are always there for eachother and try to do they can to help. They are some of nicest people and smartest people I know.
The best thing about my school is the instructors in the dental hygiene program. They work us hard and have high expectations for us because they want us to be successful. All of the instructors in the program that I know are nice, caring, and helpful. At the same time they are hard and have a zero tolerance policy which is great to me because as a student we need leaders that we respect and know how high our expectations are for them to succeed.
Mostly to save money to get into university of Washington or Washington state. This is a great option if you plan on going to grad school afterwards. Way less debt. I have friends who are in their second year and are already in 8,000 to 10,000 dollars in debt while I still don't need any loans. If you are looking to save money this is a great option.
I don't drink. Will it be hard for me to go to parties?
Find somebody like me... I never drink and probably never will. Don't ever let yourself get pressured into doing something you don't want to do. And follow the rules NO ONE should be drinking before 21!
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag to my friends that I spend half the amount on my education than they do at a four-year school, and the rigor of study is just as demanding. I also tell how easy it is to get to the camprus using public transportation, and the fun activities and shops around it. The real difference is the personal relationships you develop between you and the instructors, they really care about the class and how you are doing.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
