I love the home -town feel. The students are happy and engaged. The classes offered are interesting and diverse. I think the Basketball team with Coach Weiberg will be fun to watch also. There seems to be several opportunities on campus and off campus for employment. SWOSU is one of my top colleges I am looking to apply.

It is not a bad school. The parking situation is awful. The campus is fairly inaccessible for people in wheelchairs or who have difficulty walking. Most buildings are spread out so there is quite a walk between classes. Weatherford is a small, safe town though. Large police presence. The only big store in town is WalMart but Interstate 40 runs through town for easier access to larger towns.

College has been such an amazing experience for me. One of the things that really stands out is how safe I feel on campus. It's such a relief knowing that I can focus on my studies and enjoy college life without constantly worrying about my well-being.
Another awesome thing about my college is its size. It's not too big, which means I can actually get to know people on a more personal level. It's like being part of a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other. I've made some incredible friends and had some amazing conversations with classmates and even professors.
Being in a smaller college has its perks for sure. It's easier to find my way around, and I never feel lost in the crowd. The smaller class sizes mean I get more individual attention from my professors, which has been super helpful. I feel like I'm really part of something special, you know?
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my college choice. It's safe, it's small enough to foster genuine connections, and it's giving me an incredible college experience. If you want to chat about anything else or have more questions, just let me know!

I believe Southwestern Oklahoma State University is a very diverse school. There is a friend group for every kind of background. All of the faculty are extremely helpful and welcoming and are always available and willing to help students. The community that swosu is in is a small and very well community

The atmosphere is quiet the usual college town with some nightlife activities, a wide array of different races and international students, they are very concerned with student safety, they do try to have mixers and groups to keep the students wanting to learn and meeting new people

It is a great school. Advisors are very helpful. The enrollment process was simple. Professors are helpful. Location is the best, but it is safe. The rn to bsn program is completely online. The program is we’ll organized. There is so much help available.

This is a great school for the person looking to have small class sizes and a very involved student body. This college is one of the cheapest in the state of Oklahoma, but your education is not sacrificed because of the lower cost. Even if you attend this school for two years just to get your basics, it will be one of the best years you'll experience

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is a small, but fantastic school, especially for the price! There are tons of options for majors, extracurricular activities, and more! The professors keep their office hours and will email you back within 24 hours. Love this school!

I love attending Southwestwestern Oklahoma State University. I was super nervous about college when I first started but once I got there all of my fear melted away. It is such an inviting environment, all of the students are friendly, the professors and staff are amazing, and there is plenty to do on campus!

I really, really enjoy going to Southwestern Oklahoma State University. As I am studying Music Therapy, it is one of only two places in Oklahoma to get the degree. The music department is fantastic! I have enjoyed all of my professors during my first two semesters. They definitely care about you, and want you to succeed. The classes I have been in have yet to exceed 20-25 students, so professors get to know everyone fairly easily. Definitely consider SWOSU if you want to go to a homey small-town college!

Honestly, the professors are amazing! They love their jobs and they always make time for their students! There are plenty of organizations for students to be involved with, and the college keeps us informed of everything going on around campus!
It’s true when they say “It’s all about you!”
I love my college! Go Dawgs!

In most cases you get what you pay for. With swosu the quality of education is greater than the cost, which is relatively cheap. The professors are very approachable, especially in the music department. Often times they become a trusted friend. There's nothing flashy about swosu, but its reliable.

SWOSU is and can be an overall best college for me. Both of my parents met there and had a very good life in the city. We usually visit SWOSU for memories or Gifted and Talented Events. It was the best time for me including the Robot Competition. I highly recommend this college for any in a 50 Mile Radius, for instance, there is security which makes me feel safe and everything else. But this isn't for me to decide who overall goes there, it is for the students at all schools to decide whether or not they want to go.

This is my first time going to a major university. From what I have heard and seen, it looks pretty decent. A majority of my major is online and on ZOOM, meaning that I can work and be at home all at the same time. I will also have time to coach soccer team on the weekends. Total win in my book!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Southwestern Oklahoma State University is 90%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
It's a great hands on school, with the professor's wanting to help the students graduate and get the degree they want. The staff actually cares about it's students. Plus, it's close to home which is nice.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Somebody who is not going to put forth the effort it requires to do well in this school. This school has a good reputation of being a good academic school, so a person not willing to do the work would not do well here.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worse thing about the school is the construction going on in and around the school. The remodeling is a good thing, but at the same time they are working during class which makes it hard to concentrate.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
My school has many great oppurtunities for anyone and everyone there are so many clubs, classes, and activities to get involved in, and the professors are so friendly and willing to help the students in anyway that they possibly are able to; all in all, this is such a wonderful school.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I, again, believe that finances are what keep me worried and frustrated. It is very difficult to find a job in a small town and the cost and time consuming college hinders one from obtaining an occupation and a full bank account. It's all just so expensive.
The best thing about the school I attended as an undergraduate were small class sizes and a small campus. Professors were readily accessible and it was easy to get any help I needed in my work. As a graduate student , online classes have given a great advantage in that I can work late or early, my professors are available and I am able to benefit by interacting with students from many backgrounds in many places.
