SUNY Cobleskill has been a really positive experience for me as an Early Childhood Education major. The campus is small and cozy, which makes it easy to connect with people and get individual attention from professors. I really appreciate how hands-on the program is – we get a lot of opportunities to work with kids through internships and on-campus labs. The college has partnerships with local schools and daycare centers, so we can gain real-world experience right in the community, which is super helpful for future teaching careers. The professors here are supportive and approachable, always willing to help out when needed. I’ve had a lot of personal connections with mine, and they really care about our success. The small class sizes also make it easier to participate and ask questions, which helps me feel more confident in my learning. One downside is that Cobleskill is in a rural area, so there aren’t as many activities or places to go compared to bigger cities. However, the campus has a lot of student events and clubs, so there’s always something to do if you’re looking to get involved. Overall, if you’re looking to study Early Childhood Education, SUNY Cobleskill is a great choice. The hands-on experience, supportive faculty, and tight-knit community make it a great environment to grow as a future teacher. Plus, the program really prepares you for what it’s like to work with children in real-life settings.

School makes constant errors that take advantage of students. Not a college for students with disabilities. Don’t even know major SUNY policies. Professors run the school and many are disrespectful to students. Some core classes are only offered annually. Everything seems to be a battle and they never admit to their mistakes. Dorms are poorly managed and do not offer everything advertised on the web. MANY a rude staff on this campus. Internships are only for high scoring students, not all students as advertised.

I absolutely love the school. I feel at home, comfortable and welcomed on campus. SUNY Cobleskill allows for growth through learning. You have an over abundance of opportunity and hands on learning that allow you to truly get a taste for the field you’re looking into.

Its a great school for agriculture related studies. IT plays a huge role in the school as well. The school isn't really known for other majors although they have them. There's gorgeous views at the school and the local hiking trail. The classes are a good size. The teachers know their students.

Cobleskill is fine for a 2 year school but after that I would leave. The courses are not diversified enough and you get suck into classes that don't relate to your major or that you don't want to take because it's required by your degree. There are also limitations based on your degree on the type of classes that you can take that will actually count especially upper level classes. Parties are ok, dorms and food are crap, they only show the nicest dorms to visitors and hire a catering service for the days they visit.

Cobleskill is an absolutely amazing school if you are looking for hands on experience, building connections with past alumni, and learning from real world companies. It sometimes however feels like you are paying the school to do their work. Food is great for a college. Very small town with not much to do in the winter.

SUNY Cobleskill is my dream school and I hope to go here to pursue a career working with animals. One day I want to be a Veterinarian or a Zoologist, I'm not exactly sure yet, but I know I can figure it out in the veterinary program, transferring to SUNY Oswego a few years later .

I would say SUNY Cobleskill would be a great college to attend if you are from a small town and are majoring in Agriculture or even business. The social life tends to be a in cliques which reminds me of a high school setting but over all SUNY Cobleskill has prepare me to further on my education though.

SUNY Cobleskill is a small town college that provides many opportunities for its students. These opportunities include but are not limited to working hands on with animals, studying abroad, and a variety of clubs. The students, as well as the faculty and staff are kind and easy to talk to. I cannot wait to start my journey as a fighting tiger this fall.

I love my school very much. Students and faculty are very kind and the people on campus are always there to help students out. The agricultural programs are top notch. Being a landscape student gives me the chance to be outside and in the classroom to get a variety of learning opportunities.

My overall opinion of SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill is, that they have a wonderful campus. There are many activities and sports for the students to participate in. The student to staff ratio is perfect because the classes are not packed with students.

The campus is beautiful and very safe. Many of the professors are really Amazing at being involved to help their student succeed.Offers a wide selection of courses. Its a very diverse college with students that come from the city from kids from out of state. The surrounding community offers things for college students to do, Just as the campus offers things for the community to become involved in. This college offers I think about 60 different clubs, so their is honestly something for everybody. The class sizes is small so you get the help you request if you ask. They have wonderful services offered in the library from the student success center to Accessibility resources. Overall a wonderful school

Suny Cobleskill is a small school. the majority of the people are white. I like it here because you become close to the teachers and they do their best to help you with all your work and other things that might be bothering you. what i don't like about this school is that, it is a dull school, nothing much really goes on here. so if you an outgoing party person you are going to be a bit bored all the time.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Make sure you do all of your school work on time and remember deadlines for projects. Making friends is easy especially with your roomate and people in your residence hall so that shouldnt worry you. College life is more than what you expect it to be. Its alot of hard work but it is an exciting and fun experience.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
i brag about how helpful the campus is. the library is open most of he time, there are tutors to help you, and he teachersare wiling to help you as long as you ask. its also a more affordableschool than most.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known that the techonolgy side of the school wasn't up to par, I was disappointed to find out that my professors weren't always as up to date with what was new in my field, that or I found that they had the knowledge but didn't have the funding to bring that material into our class.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
What is most unique about my school is the amount of animals taken care of and used on campus. There are many hands on classes involving horses and cows.
My school is best known for it's animal science program. The campus is home to a variety of farm animals, all of which the students are allowed to take part in the care of. Students who may not have been able to experience a rural lifestyle, now are able to see a glimpse of it upon the campus. Anyone is allowed to visit the barns and gain a new appreciation of the workload seen on a typical day at a farm and to come in contact with the animals that play a substantial role in feeding our country.
My classes are small. I am an early childhood major so i learn about kids with a whole bunch of females but when i have other gen ed courses i get to meet people from other majors
Personally, i like the school because it is a small school and there is more focus on the students because it is so small. There are always activities around campus that one could go to, to get away from the books. I dont like the town the school is located in though. It is a really small town where the only real entertainment is walmart :/ some of the people in the town are also really rude and racist. I dont like that the campus does not accept greeks because of a past occurance. There are many diverse majors avalible like Early child (my major), culinary, agriculture, animal science, Plant science. etc There is a farm in the campus with real (smelly) animals. There are greenhouses and two daycares. So it is really diverse.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
I dont really know much about the actual clubs. But the campus has many activities through the council of student activities. They plan and host all of the big events like trips, movie nights, parties, comedians, guest speakers. etc So that's really cool. But other than that people just entertain themselves with their group of friends
The classroom sizes are decent. like 30 max so that gives the teachers a chance to really know you. This school is not a very competitive school, students are just doing what they have to do to get by. But the school has lots of resources with helping make resumes and getting jobs.
When you step off the campus, there isnt much of a sight. There's mainly land and houses and apartments. There are a couple of small businesses around campus but other than that its pretty dead. You have to go all the way to main street to get some "entertainment" and even there its not much but a movie theater, art studio, small cafe
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
Well my school is very diverse. There are Agricultural students which are called "Aggies" and then there are white people, black people and hispanics. The Stereotype about the "aggies" is that they chew tobacco and smell like animal feces. There are various stereotypes about the white students, that they are party animals and crazy. The Black people are loud ghetto people and the Hispanics are gossipy.
These stereotypes are definitely not true.
To be quite honest the only sport that is really advertised on campus is basketball. The basketball games are always a fun event to attend where they have lots of snacks and giveaways. I know we also have softball, volleyball, track, bowling and maybe some other sports that i might not know of. But we don't have football and a lot of students are upset about that, But its a small school so we cant have everything. Track is also a popular sport around campus.
