The students that gave us the tour were very knowledgeable about the school and my degree choice, they were also able to point me in the right direction for veterans benefits I enjoyed every minute of the tour . Our tour guide George also was able to help me figure out which of my duel credit courses were transferable and how much tuition would cost for my mom who is a single parent and how we could get financial aid to help us pay for my education.

I love the campus very much. The Faculty is very nice and understanding. Also the students are extremely friendly, and there are always student events happening in our pavilion, and many of the organizations there are raising money for important causes. Everyone is so sweet, and the school is so active with local high schools and tours. I love walking around because it is so manicured. I love the classes because they are challenging but don't kill me either.

It is a great school. Hope to attend fall of 2020. This school has show me every thing I have been looking into when applying for college. It has a great agricultural feel to it. In addition it is remote enough to be peaceful. It is about 3 hours from home so it is accesses able in case of emergency s.

I love this school a lot. I play baseball and am extremely involved on campus and the people here are friendly and ready to enter the workforce as responsible adults. The professors here are knowledgeable in their fields and able to answer most questions. The administrators are committed to your success and check up on you often

It's been great so far. My advisor has been more than helpful when answering my endless amounts of questions. When I considered changing majors the other advisor was extremely helpful in guiding me through the website to find information I needed. The straight forward answers from my advisor was a huge reason I transferred here.

It is a great university, simply amazing. The only major complaint I have is that physics is not as big a thing as pharmacy, which I will also major on, but the physics professors have amazing contacts and can get you to high priority investigations.

Texas A & M University-Kingsville is one of the best campuses that I’ve been to. It’s easy to get to your classes due to the campus not being that large. The classrooms are great sizes, in my opinion. Also, this college is affordable. You don’t have to send a lot of money here. I personally like this campus.

It’s good for education. Just wish there was more to do. I’ve had very good professors, and one or two rough ones but I had a good experience when it came to getting in groups to study. I received decent/good grades. I do wish the town had more to do, but I think the university is meant more for learning than an actual college experience, but that’s okay.

This isn't a campus you want to stay in for too long. Many people don't really enjoy being here, and on the weekends people go home because there isn't much to do. They advertise a decent class size, but that isn't the case, typically there's 20-30 people in a class, and for chemistry you will have over a hundred people in one class. Also, be sure to take a look at Martin Hall, Bishop Hall, and all the dorms that aren't Lucio and Mesquite, because while they don't advertise it, those are their less appealing dorms that you may be having to settle for. You are required to get an expensive meal plan, when the food isn't even that great and they only change it slightly from time to time. There is definitely a party scene, those people just cover up really well so they can keep doing the only fun thing to do in this place. Sometimes you can sign up for a professor and get a completely different one. Would strongly not recommend this place, and advise you to look at as many websites possible about how people feel about being here.

I personally really like my campus and feel very homey in it. The people are very approachable whether you know them or not and there are 200+ organizations for students to join. There's always something to do and plenty of educational opportunities all around. Students have the choice of free identity in religion and simply their own way of life.

Texas A&M is a great college and I cant wait to attend to it this 2019 fall semester. It provides many opportunities and achievements, making it easy to every college student. I think that a student can get very oriented with the staff and members very quick, they make school easier and more motivated.

Texas A&M Kingsville is a great university with many things in place for students to succeed. However, I do have a few complaints. Most of the staff in the Chemistry and Physics department are foreign so at times there is a language barrier and that can make it very difficult to communicate. While it is great TAMUK is hiring a diverse staff, if 85% of the students are struggling to understand the lecture on a daily basis than that can make it very difficult to succeed in those courses. Despite that I am enjoying my time here at this university.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Texas A & M University-Kingsville is 82%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Now as a Senior, i had such a great time. I remeber when I first started, I was lost and curious of many things. I wondered who would help me get though college and what was going to be planned for me as a senior. My experience here was crazy and at a fast pace. I joined organizations,( ROTC) that made me strong both mentally and emotionally. My freshman year was blind but as i started to push forward i was able to familiarize myself with my surroundings. I got a job which has helped me gain experience for my future, until now im able to work with high school students to get them on the same track as i am now. I assist them with applying for ACT exams, Finacial Aid, Scholarship and other issues to get them to get into universities. Attending college has always been rewarding, an education no one will ever be able to take away from me. With an education i will be able to further myself in life to find a career and live a happy stabled life. im greatful for what i have gained thoughout my college experience.
Every student at TAMUK is unique in every way. On a daily basis I see new people, each of them different than the last. From what I have seen, practically every student here is quite intelligent. In high school I usually was the top contender in my classes but at TAMUK things are completely different. I have made several good friends by helping each other out in tough classes or with difficult professors. Right now it is summer time but I want to head back to campus soon and start meeting new people and seeing my old friends again!
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known that everything was going to be easy and fun. I stressed out about moving away from home only to realize that the people here are so friendly that they make it comfortable to be living away from family. The professors are also really nice and understanding whenever something comes up; therefore, the classes are easy if you do what you're supposed to (study and go to class).
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
This is a friendly school, and the classroom size is perfect. The professors are excellent and they care about the students. Academic advising is awesome. I returned to school after being out for 10 years and my advisor helped me schedule my classes without any trouble. She informed me which classes to take to improve my G.P.A, and called different departments to find information. This advisor is not with us no more, but I will always remember her-Dr. Anderson. Also, I want to thank everybody in the Social Sciences department, because they are the very best!
What kind of person should not attend this school?
People who think you can only attain a valid education by attending a large and reknown university. As well as people who think since this university is small that it is acedemically easy to receive your degree.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is when your trying to sleep but your neighbor from across the hall in the dorms has the music real loud and it doesn't let you fall asleep you just keep waking up and waking up.
Form my expericen i would say that a&m kingsville is best known for being a good size shool. The classrooms allow one on one with the professor, and more likely your professor will know your name by the end of the semester. The campus isnt huge so getting to class and getting lost isnt a problems. Also this university is know for its Engineering program, which has received a high rank among the nation, making it the best school. The last thing i would say the peole you meet from all over the country. very kind and understanding people.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The engineering and music departments are EXCELLENT. They really need to invest more into the music department; their facilities are embarrassing when compared to other universities'.
One of my favorite things about studying at Texas A&M University- Kingsville is the academic environment. Because it is a small university, most classes have a student-faculty ratio of 16:1. This is an advantage to students because it gives every student a chance to have one-on-one instruction from the teacher. As a recent graduate, I can recall every one of my professors' names and they remember me too. My favorite class was French Civilization and Literature. It was a study abroad class and I had the opportunity to spend a week in Martinique, a French island in the Caribbean, while learning the language. My least favorite class was Geology. Class participation varies from class to class, but I noticed the most participation in my junior and senior level classes. My department is Communications and Theatre Arts. It is a small department, but it is a great place for opportunities. For example, I was part of the school's newspaper, The South Texan, since my freshman year, and I served as Editor-in-Chief during my senior year. I also had the chance to participate in a weekly TV newscast with the Radio TV Club. Overall, the education offered at Texas A&M University- Kingsville is a valuable one that prepares its students for a future career.
The best thing about Texas A&M University- Kingsville is its faculty and students. After my first semester, I knew I had chosen the right school for me. The professors truly care about the success of each and every student. It is even easier to achieve such success through one-on-one instruction from professors. Although it's a small school, it provides several opportunities in areas such as: engineering, agriculture, wildlife, music, and sciences. I spent most of my time at the Memorial Student Union Building, which includes the campus bookstore, game room, Starbucks, Subway, Chick-fil-a, and much more. One of the exciting things about the university is that things are always changing for the better. Recently, the campus received the addition of a new dining hall and a new residence hall. There are also plans to update the Memorial Student Union Building. In my opinion, TAMUK is lucky to have such an amazing administration that is interested in the needs and wants of the students. There is such an awesome atmosphere at TAMUK and it is because of the school pride each and every student demonstrates!
the sports on campus are very well known nationaly the football team is one of the most prestige in D2 football along with may players in many sport playing at the professional level
this school is in the heart of my home town. They offered a degree in the field of my interest TV radio. My mentor also attended this school and he always talked about how exciting the campus was and how devoted the teachers are to there students. That made me very interested after a short overview of the campus and a short tour i knew i wouldnt have to go out of my way and far from home to get a great education in my field it was right in my backyard.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I believe that the students at this campus are stereotyped as being mediocre. This to me is not the case. The students at this university are extremely dedicated and hardworking, just as any other student at big name campuses. I believe that people feel since we are a small school we do not have great students when in fact the majority of students here come from low to mid income families and cannot afford to attend the big school even though they have as much if not more capability than any student there.
