Texas State Technical College Waco

The school is a good school, but there are things that definitely would need to be corrected and changed as this also would pertain to many other colleges and universities that students might attend. But altogether the school is a good trades school if you're looking for something that's quick and easy to participate in.

I am only familiar with the aviation department and I am proud to be apart of their aviation community. Not familiar with any other part of it, besides the student success center. Everyone that I have met there have been helpful and kind with any questions or problems I have had.

Its a really great school to go to, there is almost always something to do, between events being hosted by the school or by the students. There is a rec center in the middle of campus hosting events. whether it be game nights, competitions, or bingo nights.

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a very good technical college. They are focused on getting students into the workforce with relevant technologies. The instructors are available to assist students with their classwork so they can be successful, not only in the college setting, but also in their chosen career.

It has a very well potential of becoming a great school the lack of old equipment school needs to get updated teachers are good i think they dont have the proper resources to get the job done they tend to lack in having the right tools in shop/ hangers teachers need a better teaching environment which will benefit both teachers and students.

The school is amazing including teacher and classmates. I feel safe and I constantly have people to talk to and interact with inside and out of school. My counselors are always there when I need help or I just have a question about things. They reply within minutes and they help out a lot.

TSTC is awesome. I highly recommend this college for anyone willing and ready to work a trade. I started my college career at TSTC in the welding program and I loved it. Instructors were awesome and knowledgeable from industry experience. Then I crossed over to the Aviation Airframe & Powerplant program (which is a dual degree program) with the intent to become an aerospace welder upon graduation. As I completed the A&P program, I decided that I wanted the training and certifications needed to work on ANY portion of an aircraft, so now I'm working toward graduation from the Avionics program as well. Upon graduation, I'll have 4 Associates of Applied Science degrees from TSTC, and thanks to the fair tuition rates and my GI Bill benefits, I'll have less than $5,000 in student loans to pay back.

Overall I am very impressed with the college. They expect nothing but our best from us. I would definitely not think about transferring to another college because of a few reasons. I have always felt safe on campus even when I am walking alone to or from class. I have also made life long friendships with some amazing people. The teachers are great because if you need help with anything they are there to help you even if you are not in their class anymore. 10/10 recommend TSTC!

The helicopter program at TST C Texas State technical College for the past four years has been contracted through UH I and has been being conducted under part 61 of the FAA rules and regulations also known as the FAR/AIM. When they themselves claimed to be conducting 141 training and the program only trains theoretical application and not industry performance. You won’t be trained as a professional pilot. The VA educational benefits pertaining to flight training specifically states that part 61 schools are not 100% covered. And that’s veterans must attend a university of higher education which conducts flight training under 141 regulation. The school continues to doctor their books and documents and consistently lies about their flight training. Due to a internal investigation and the former chief “ Train White” was fired and the helicopter training program was found to be conducting part 61 training operations and not 141 helicopter flight training. The program itself does not exist at the TST C Waco campus or in the TST C curriculum. All that the facility has done is taking the approved fixed wing 141 training and placed a helicopter cover sheet over the approved document. With that being said there is no real helicopter training program or helicopter educational program for that matter at the TST C campus Waco. Because of the simple fact the school is being audited this December for the failures of the program again. Conduct of the former chief which was allowed by the program management varied well outside of FAA standards and regulations. For example: veterans were not tested regularly, no records of our testing were documented, veterans were forced to fly extra time outside of regulation, veterans lost time when weather prevented us from being able to fly, veterans are not trained in helicopter operations at the school instead we have to attend fixed wing airplane classes, the former chief attempted to instigate physical altercations to remove veterans, veterans also maintain a failing grade through the entire program due to inadequacies of testing which goes unreported to the Veterans Administration. Failures of the program and staff are also counted against veterans time which leads to failures and administration removals outside of the veteran’s control. The vast majorities of veterans currently enrolled in the helicopter program are proactively seeking new schools or have quit the program. Several veterans currently enrolled have not flown in excess of three weeks due to the school’s inability to provide a certified or qualified chief they are currently collecting failing grades and this is being counted against them, and potentially risking their benefits. Theft abuse and miss conduct and abuse of Veteran education benefits. And deliberate interference of veterans attempting to require them. As a whole the Veterans feel as though the school is deliberately covering up the miss conduct of former staff to save face, due to the “Politics involved.” The program has been audited multiple times and for the school to even entertain the idea of miss conduct the veterans had to track down the school attorneys and force the subject. The program was found to be at fault of miss conduct forcing the termination of multiple employees, unfortunately due to policy changes and the program being rebuilt from the ground up TSTC is deliberately hindering and preventing Veterans from the requisition of federal benefits. Every Veteran in the program has filled a 22-0989 with the V.A. However due policy changes the veterans have run into resistance from the school. Details also identify the current Director deliberately withholding this information to have her predecessor terminated. And is currently causing interference for the re-acquisition of the veterans benefits.

they are a brilliant place and there oppurtunities are outstanding with thier money back guarntee theres no doubt ill be working in less than 2 years and a half i cant wait to start my semester in hutto there campus isnt that big but with the hands on from the good instructor i think ill be able to do it

Texas State Technical College Waco is a great school for its location. You learn a lot which is roughly 80% hands-on learn and 20% lectures. The instructors at TSTC are always willing to go above and beyond to encourage new learning style and assisting students who are in need of extra hep. Compared to other two year colleges who does most lectures, TSTC allows the student to use the actual real world equipment so everyone gets feel of what they may be working with once they are out in the industry. I am glad that I attended TSTC because it gave me the motivation to continue on in my career path and now I am currently pursuing a BAAS as a transfer student. Class of 2020!!

The classes were small and the teachers very helpful. I was in the electrical field which I was one of two females in the course. The direct learning for what we would encounter in the field was great. The labs were fun and interesting. It's perfect for a fast track into a career with great starting salary.

This is a great place. Most people have never heard of TSTC. I told my friend and now he goes here. I have told other friends. This is not like other schools. Here you work on stuff everyday, mostly labs, hands on. Very little book study, its great.

TSTC has been very professional and focus on the students and training. Texas State Technical College is a small campus locate in a rural area of Waco. There’s on-campus and off-campus housing available. There’s one-stop student service center, which also has the bookstore and dining facility. The instructors are professional and have real life experience in their field of study.

TSTC is great college it allows us to be more prepared for our careers. They give us hands on training and allow us to have more of a chance to find a job since the school and its many instructors are connected to various associations which allow us to be recommended by our instructors.
