This school is great for those pursuing higher education. Its location is ideal for those who just want to focus on their studies as it is located in a small town. It does have events from time to time such as the Career Success Conference but nothing very huge or like the events at major universities. The university has a strong nursing program in which some can work at one of their offsite facilities such as their hospital. Overall, I say this University has great potential for many students in the future.

Located in East Texas, it provides a supportive environment and modern facilities. While not as nationally prominent, it's a solid choice for those seeking close-knit academic experiences.

I love attending The University of Texas at Tyler. It is a calm, mostly quiet campus with beautiful scenery including two lakes where one might encounter our turtle population as well an adorable group of ducks. Staff and faculty members are incredibly nice and helpful and professors, in my experience, are reasonably reachable via office hours and email.

As a student at UT Tyler, I can confidently say that it's been an incredible experience so far. One of the things I love about UT Tyler is the tight-knit community. Despite being a more prominent university, I feel like part of a close-knit family. The faculty and staff are always approachable and willing to help students with any issues, making the transition to college life much smoother.
Another thing that I appreciate about UT Tyler is the range of academic programs available. I'm majoring in computer science, and I've been blown away by the quality of the courses and the professors. The coursework is challenging but rewarding, and I feel like I'm gaining valuable skills and knowledge that will serve me well in my future career.
UT Tyler also offers a range of extracurricular activities and organizations, which has allowed me to get involved on campus and make new friends. There's something for everyone, from clubs, focused on specific interests to volunteering opportunities and intramural sports.

Best college that covers everything necessary for the students. Professor and staff are really helpful all the time. Classes are well tailored so that students can have enough space for other activities going on campus. Campus housing provides all the amenities and are at a walkable distance to the classes. Over all, best experience at best price!!!

I love my school for the small classes and the best professors, I have yet to have a bad professor, they are all very understanding and always willing to listen! The facilities on campus are pretty awesome, I love the gym and they have plenty of buildings with seats to rest before classes or to study besides the 5 story library.

I just love UT Tyler. It feels very warm and welcoming. Everyone is so supportive and they genuinely want you to make it - whether admissions, faculty or even board members! Campus and facilities are beautiful and very encouraging whether in terms of commodities, nature or convenience. Lots of events to help people mingle.

I think the University doesn't have enough credit for all that they offer. The faculty and staff are their to help you learn and grow as a person. I feel like I am going to succeed well at this college. It has so much to offer whether it's the greek life, clubs, or extra activities to sign up for.

I really enjoy the campus at UT Tyler. It does not feel overly crowded or crammed together like I've seen at other campuses. The on-site pond, tall pine trees and natural beauty is utilized well to create a relaxing environment following each class.

It is an incredible school with 24/7 access to the professors. Many students work on campus which allows for extra studying and extra help depending on where you are doing your work study. The food is amazing, they have a little bit of everything which allows for students to choose what they would like to eat.

The staff and Instructors are amazing. Everyone is very helpful and they want you to succeed as much as you want to succeed. They will go above and beyond to make sure that you have every possible opportunity available to be able to graduate with your degree.You just have to take the initiative.

While the class size and on campus extracurricular activities are excellent, the programs and facilities for the College of Arts and Sciences are pretty poor. The buildings for other majors are very nice and new, but the English and History building is dilapidated and void of any luxuries offered to the other disciplines' buildings. The professors are amazing, easily accessible, and incredibly intelligent. I would definitely recommend the University of Texas at Tyler to students who want a school in a decent sized city and a smaller campus that still feels like a larger university. I have enjoyed my time at this school despite feeling as though my discipline has been under represented on campus.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
When I was a high school senior, going to college was not something I really wanted to think about. I felt as though it was very stressful and many times thought I would not end up attending college. I was also scared and did not think it was something I could do. If I could go back in time and talk to myself during this stage of my life, I would tell myself that attending college is very important even though it may be stressful at times. I would also tell myself that it will only makes things better in the long run. Attending and graduting from college can help you be more successful in the future. It may be scary, but everyone who chooses to has to go through it as well. All of the other incoming freshman are in the same position and may feel the same exact way.
A person who is dedicated to their school work and is ready for a challenge. Someone who enjoys college life, in a small community setting. A person who is ready to have fun, but at the same time have a great professor who cares.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known what to expect in the college class experiance. My high school really did not prepair the students for such a drastic change in grading and test taking stratagies.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Any one willing to succeed in life and do well in school schould attend this school. No matter your race or religion, everyone is welcome here. Positive people are easier to be around and will encourage other people to do well in school.
In the nursing program, we have the opportunity to work in the hospitals and get a lot of hands-on experience. I find that very valuable and a much better learning experience than sitting in a classroom and watching videos.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
