What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I were to Describe my College experience so far while attending Trevecca in one word it would be: Strength. Not physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. While here I have found the strength to break out of my comfot zone, and take a stand for things I believe in. Things I wouldn't have even thought about standing for without Trevecca. I know, with my education here, I will have the strength to pursue future careers, and the strength to make something of myself. I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to attend such a wonderful school, an opportunity many will not be able to have. There's not a day that goes by that I don't thank God for this school and the strength that has been bestowed upon me.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
It is a small christian school so the campus enviornment is all together friendly and close to each other. It is not an uncomfortable envirnment in any means. I have heard from friends from different colleges saying that their professors are hard to get a hold of out of class which is not at all true at Trevecca. I have also heard that there are different groups around campus that they do not socialize with. At Trevecca there are different groups that are more familar to you, however, it is not a common practice to only stay within your group.

I felt what was best about my college career was the spiritual growth that was gained. Even though I wasn't a Nazarene I felt a deep Christian connection and it helped me become from this lost person, to a person with a purpose.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I am paying for my own way for college and I feel I am not getting as much help as they say they offer financially. Also, security problems need to be handled in a better manner... our campus is really safe but my car was broken into and the situation wasn't handled well.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
My school has great teacher with an encouraging work environment. Trevecca is an excellent choice if you want to have a better relationship with God and learn a skill that will support you for the rest of your life. As a commuting student (meaning I do not stay on campus) the school provides lockers and places on campus to eat that are not very expensive. The school as a whole care about their students. Even after graduation the teachers keep a deep relationship with you.

What are the academics like at your school?
The academics are great. Our most popular and respected majors are our music business, religion, psychology, and education programs. 75{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of certified teachers in the state of TN have some form of credential from Trevecca. The teachers care so much for the student and the community, and classes are vibrant and energizing. The conversation always carries on to the cafeteria or the student center and dorms, continuing the learning process. Professors spend time with students outside of class and on weekends if necessary. We understand that college is furthering our education to prepare us for our vocation, but at Trevecca we are also learning more about ourselves and our purpose in this world.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
The best thing about Trevecca is the atmosphere and the social life. The perfect amount of students, not too big and not too small, makes it feel like a giant family. We have multiple on campus events and parties each week; trips, educational forums, service projects in nashville, concerts, etc. Music City helps us get great concerts each year. As far as classes go, each class averages about 20 people so you really get the help from teachers that you need. Beautiful campus 2 minutes away from downtown Nashville. There is a lot of involvement with the city; for example some Trevecca students have been protesting with the occupy wall street members outside our capital. I have so many memories here including sledding down the huge hill at mt olivet cemetary, the giant slip n slide we have on the hill behind the girls dorms, and all the fun times playing intramural sports with my friends.

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
So often Trevecca students get stereotyped as "home-schooled conservative Christians". People hear about "all the rules you have to follow" and they turn up their nose to it. These are not true. The atmosphere is really free, and the students really know how to have fun. Yes, Trevecca is a Christian school but you are not required to be a Christian to go here. We have a mixed racial population, as well as different types of people - jock, trendy kid, nerd, average, etc. All of my friends who went to a big public school tell me all the time they are jealous of the things we do and the people who go here.
