When I left home to attend the University of Central Florida I was more closed minded, shy, and had no clue what I really wanted to do with my life. almost all my friends had attended their Freshman year while I was home at a community college trying to save up money. Now that I am a Knight my self confidence has improved and it is easier for me to talk to new people. Now that I am off on my own, it has been easier to expand my horizons by meeting new people and experiencing new thing that I would not have had the chance to do back in my small hometown. In my opinion, I am a better person since attending the University of Central Florida.

It is hard to sum up my college experiences and what exactly I have learned from my time here, but I think it is adequate to say that I have learned a lot about myself and others while attending this university. Before coming to UCF, I knew I liked talking to other people and hanging out with people from different cultures than my own, but after attending football and basketball games, and concerts here at school, I have really learned social skills and how to make friends. These networking skills I have picked up will be crucial once I enter the business world and even help my social life. Had I not learned these skills I probably would not attend school functions and only focus on my academics, thus leading to an unappealing time here at school.

During my college experience I have not only made many long lasting friendships, but also gained relationship with people who work in my field of study. I am an education major. Studying at the University of Central Florida has given me the opportunity to meet people who can help me get a job in the future. I believe that UCF is a great school to attend in order to benefit my official goal of becoming a teacher. Attending UCF feels more like a family relationship then just any school. The faculty members actually care about bettering your future in any way possible. They want to see you succeed and reach your personal goals. I value every minute I attend UCF, primary because I know it will assist my future in becoming an efficient teacher.

Throughout my college experience at the University of Central Florida, I have learned how all of the components of UCF's creed help me to become not only a better student, but a better person. I value every second I have in the classroom, because of my opportunities to learn as much as I can. Coming from a family in which I am the only one to attend college in three generations, I take my education very seriously. I have been given the chance of a lifetime by being excepted to UCF and knowing that I will be going into a great profession with a degree from a grade A college is what makes my experiences at UCF so valuable.

I transferred from Florida Atlantic University in search of the “college experience.”
One of the many advantages of having a college experience is learning independence, money, and time management. Living on my own compelled me to budget my money and to prioritize my wants. Living on my own a home-cooked-meal was a scarce commodity, so I was forced to learn to cook.
Another benefit of living on campus is meeting people and building a lifetime relationship. My friends are my family away from home. I am privileged to meet a diverse population. At home I met different people but our experiences and environment were similar, but at college I meet people with diverse backgrounds, culture, experience and environment. I am now equipped with a wealth of knowledge to deal with diverse people. Due to the different activities that are offered on campus, I am now a better public speaker, listener, leader, community volunteer, entertainer, open-minded and receptive of other views and opinions, and most of all a better U.S. citizen.
It’s a self enhancing experience that I could not gain anywhere else. It builds character and develops a well rounded person.

My past school experiences have always tarnished my thoughts on education. In the past few months of attending UCF, I have never been more motivated, never studied harder, and never done this well in my college years. My procrastination habits have diminished and replaced with timeliness and good work ethic. This experience has changed my thought process and life and I could not be more greatful.

The University of Central Florida is exactly where it says it is "central" and therefore its not too far for student who already live in Florida like me, yet providing enough distance to be independent. Another very rewarding aspect of UCF is the fact that they have a club or organization for anything your heart desires. Want to be in a Gaming Club? Have it. Want to be involved in the community? There's numerous options. Sports? There's an intermural league for basically everything from corn hole to flag football. With the diversity shown at UCF there's no way you can't fit in. With such differences between students you can almost bet with a 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} certainty they offer your desired major.

I have had a wonderful experience so far at UCF. I am active in both of my majors, journalism and psychology. I am a member of SPJ and also currently in my second internship in the journalism field. UCF is a great school and a great support system. Financially my parents recently had to close a business they had opened due to the down fall in the economy. Unfortunately this has affected me greatly. I have a small job on campus but it is definitely not paying any of my big bills. This scholarship would help tremendously. If there is any of information, resume, clips or anything else you may need to consider me for this scholarship I would gladly send. Thank you!

My experience with college so far has been enlightening. I have found myself pursuing my goal in life to be an educated woman in this day and age that can make a difference in the lives of young kids and teens i hope to teach soon. College has given me the oppurtunity to dream bigger then i have ever had. To know I can achieve so many things if I work hard to reach the goals I've set for myself. I enjoy school and the teachers I have been privileged to have. Also to meet so many different students in many different stages in their lives, even the beautiful cultures we all have. UCF is an experience for a lifetime, I am so happy I choose this school and I'm sure I will accomplish many more things; but this is the beginning of my career and life. There’s so many things we can do with our lives, some lead us nowhere, but with the skills I am learning here a will be more then just all right. Its worth the longs days we study and one day I’ll look back proud of what I’ve done.

Since beginning my college experience at the University of Central Florida, I have discovered many new things about myself that I otherwise may not have realized and overcome. When living on your own for the first time, simple life skills come unexpectedly to light, such as time-management, your level of responsibility, ease of communication with others, and the realities of the cruelty of the world. Knowing these things are crucial to living life on your own without guidance, and have helped me tweak my behavior so as to become more able to take care of myself and in the future, possibly children and a family. It is more likely that a person should find themselves alone and without help, then constantly aided in their every dilemma. Therefore, I believe that attending the University of Central Florida has been valuable in preparing me for what lies ahead, and I am daily stepping away from shelter and toward the real world.

Attending UCF was more than being in a classroom. I was a varsity athlete, worked for UCF, have done research here, participated in Greek life, and joined professional societies and made some of the best friends I will ever have. I did all of this in three years, kept my GPA up, and had a thriving social life. This school has helped show me many different kinds of people and how to interact with them. As a current MBA student, I can't thank UCF enough for that. I am more than well prepared to enter the work force and be successful. UCF offers so much and those of us willing to take advantage have our lives changed. I am a better person and better professional because of UCF.

I have gathered a stronger sense of self and my purpose in life. I have solidified the fact that I want to be a doctor and realized that I want to become more involved in philanthropic and charitable organizations. I have also had many memorable social interactions and a sense of freedom and responsibility that I didn't have prior to attending college.

I have gotten so much out of attending the University of Central Florida that it is hard to put into two hundred words. UCF has made it easier for me to finish my degree by the huge array of classes offerred online. It has also enriched my college experience by allowing me the opportunity to involve my family in the plethera of free student activities. I am a single parent that works full-time, attends college three-quarters to full-time each semester, and I am an involved parent of an advanced and actively involved eight grader. With so many classes offerred online at UCF, I am able to work on my school work while attending my daughter's softball games and other school involved activities. My college experience has not only set a positive example with my daughter, but it has allowed her to see first hand, how much fun it can be and how much of a positive difference it can make in our lives as well. With the completion of my degree in the Fall of 2011, I will have a much better chance of promoting out my current position and into a much better paying one.

I have learned a lot about myself throughout my previous college experiences. I started college directly out of high school only because my parents wanted me to go. I was not ready and I was a failure. I then moved back home and took a few classes here and there at a community college in town. I ended up getting pregnant half way through the semester and did not do well after that. While these sound like bad experiences, they were the best experiences for me to go through. It made me realize what I was ready to handle and what I could not face at that time. Also, being out of school and working a full-time job showed me how important school was to having a quality career and also being a good example for my son. I am now married with two children and I want to be a solid example for them. Having them watch me go through college shows them dedication and proves to them how valuable school is.

I went to Valencia Community College from 2006 to 2010. The most important thing I got out of my college experience was to believe in myself and that I am capable of doing more than I think. When I started, I was part of the EAP (English for Academic purposes ) program for almost two years. It was the prerequisite to star college classes. I considered quitting many times because I was not seeing an ending, and it was affecting my finances. However, I overcome the language barrier, and I was able to graduate from Valencia. Moreover, I am the first one of my family attending to University. It has been valuable to attend to college because I am more prepared for life. I had gain knowledge in different subjects, and I have learned things that I will be able to use in my daily life and I will never forget. Such as, write and speak proper English, and to understand the U.S government. Now, I am able to understand many situations that are happening around the world. Being part of Valencia was a wonderful experiences because it though me that with determination and discipline I can accomplish my goals.

Going to college is something that every one c=should do. It has taught me discipline and hardwork.

Going back to school after 12 years in the work force was a very hard and humbling thing to do. I have learned that no matter what happens in life you must be flexible and able to adapt to any situation. School has taught me that I don’t have to be a certain age to learn and to enjoy earning a degree for the first time in my life. Jobs come and go but the piece of paper I am working toward can never be taken away from me.

Attending college has made me grow into the much more mature adult I am now compared to the kind of young adult I was when I first became a legal adult. My college experience has made me recognize life isn’t about doing things I need to do when I want to do them but when I am suppose to. It has made me learn procrastinating is the worst quality to have. It has been of tremendous value to attend college because it has made me a real woman.
I also get a great deal more of respect from people I meet when I tell them I am a college student. College is not just excellent for giving students an education but just as well at helping them become a better person, adult, and most of all a much happier individual. There is nothing of greater value to anyone than a college experience, and this is coming from someone who has difficulties in a college setting due to my learning disabilities. The college experience will do nothing but good in a person’s life.

Every child dreams about what they will be when they grow up. As I went through school, those dreams changed continuously. A few years ago when I started applying for colleges, those dreams started to become a reality. I went and visited several colleges and I had finally found the one for me, University of Central Florida. Although I had found my dream college, the question of “What do I want to be when I grow up?” was still in debate. This question has been up for debate ever since I was a little girl. College has allowed me to discover who I really am and what I am meant to do in my life. Going to college has basically changed my life. I grew up in a small town in NY. Going to such a large University in a different state was a huge change for me, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. In the past year, I have been able to get very involved within my college and the community, meet some amazing people, and find the right major for me, Hospitality Management. College, for me, is a dream come true.

From the first time I visited the University of Central Florida in the ninth grade, I knew I wanted to go there. This dream became a reality when I was accepted into this prestigious university and from the moment i moved into my dorm on campus, it has been as incredible as I imagined. The school is a vibrant melting pot, filled with ambitious students and passionate teachers, not to mention fantastic school spirit. So far, I have gotten so much out of UCF, I joined a wonderful sorority filled with over a 100 inspirational women who are as goal-oriented as I am, I have gotten involved with community service, and I have expanded my independence to new heights. The most valuable part of attending was realizing my potentional when I achieved straight A's my first semester, it was very difficult but it was the most rewarding feeling I have ever experienced.
