So far, through my college experience I have gotten a large amount of motivation to want to succeed in all that I try. At first, I didnt think I was going to be able to afford college because my father wasn't working and my mom had bills to pay. Luckily, finacial aid lent me a helping hand and my dad got hired as a manager at a feed store! I now had the opportunity to begin attending the community college here in Tucson, AZ. College is providing me with tons of information that would be very difficult to find on my own; not to mention the support I am also getting from my teachers. I am now seeking more valuable information being taught at the U of A; I plan on transfering for the fall semester of 2011.

So far my college experience has shown me a lot. I have learned not only to be more independent but also how to interact with others in a new way. When I go to school I know that all the other students are there for the same reason as me, to better their education and to plan for their future. In college students can pick any one subject that interest them and study it for the rest of their lives. College has shown me that there are many ways for people to get the most out of their lives and that they are willing to really push themselves to get where they want to be. I have learned that possibilities really are endless and whether you want to be an anthropologist studying the music of the world or an engineer designing new ways to explore space there is a specific path to get to your goal. I have learned that the path is often filled with questions and obstacles, but as long as you know what is right for you anything is possible and there is always someone with a helping hand to lend.

I am currently enrolled in UCF College of Nursing and this program has opened my eyes to the community around me. After living in this area my entire life, I've learned more about my community in one semester than I did in 20 years. The clinicals I attend and the volunteer projects I sign up for are driven to help the needy that most people overlook. In my college experience I have learned a deeper depth of compassion and caring I ever thought possible. I've learnedthere are actually children in this society that have never even seen a tooth brush, but I quickly fixed that. I've taken care of a dying, young woman that would normally be running around healthy if she had insurance. I've seen DCF investiage physically abusive mothers. I've offered medical help to a homeless veteran that was once attacked by a bear, as well as shot in the head. UCF has been valuable to my life because my eyes have been opened to a world I was totally oblivious to three semesters ago. I have learned to appreciate my life, and I have learned to help others appreciate theirs.

It is hard to express in words the value of my experience thus far, without running the risk of belittling it. My college experience has benefited me in countless ways, all of which I could not be more grateful for. Besides the assumed benefits of academic development, I have gained so much education outside the typical classroom. I have developed socially, professionally, and have gained a passion for seizing opportunity that I did not know I had the potential to possess. The opportunities offered to me, such as holding leadership roles on campus, or taking on internships in my chosen profession, have sculpted me to seek further opportunity in all my endevors. Most Importantly, I have gained a sense of independence that has prepared me for my future. The independence that I have gained has gone beyond just learning to cook for myself, do my laundry, and handle my finances, but has actually aided me in the development of who I am as an individual and what goals I strive for. My college experience has been a valuable tool providing me with the poise and confidence necessary to succeed not only in the workplace, but in all aspects of life.

My college experience has taught me to have faith in my own abilities and that it is ok to follow a dream no matter how old you are. I enrolled at UCF after I finished my A.A. at a local community college, though I had a high GPA I did not have the confidence in myself to think that I could get into a major university. After I got accepted my confidence shot up, I was able to come on campus and explore. Up until that point I had done all my classes online so I would not have to find my way through a campus or be in a crowded classroom. I do not particularly care to be in crowds. My college experience has given me the confidence to not only come to campus to participate in a face to face class but to actually follow my lifelong dream of becoming an anthroplogist. Since I have gotten into UCF I have had the confidence to give public lectures on anthropology and have maintained a 4.0 GPA. This experience has changed my life for the better.

The University of Central Florida is a great, diverse place for education and one's social life. The school is filled with academic, financial, work, and social resources for students to take advantage of. It is a fun and exciting university to attend, and one where I have learned much. I have met lots of awesome people who I now can call my friends. The university also offers over 400 clubs for students to participate in and feel a part of something that matters to them. The professors are engaging and enjoy teaching their respective subjects. There are experts in the field that teach at this school, so we know the knowledge we are gaining is highly valuable and can be applied to our current world. I believe the school challenges students academically as well as presenting them with numerous opporutnities in order to succeed. And the campus is wonderful; very modern and diverse! I am extremely proud to be a knight and a very happy student and young adult attending this school. I am glad I picked UCF as my number one choice school; I would not have it any other way.

College has given me the best time of my life. I have made the best of friends, had the best of teachers, and have learned the best of skills to help me succeed in reaching my goals. My friends are my superheroes; they save me from the stresses of school. Whether it is to just decompress and relax or to get out and have a good time, their presence alone takes away my troubles. My teachers have challenged me to really use my potential. In addition to providing plenty of study materials, they have provided me with the knowledge to be a competitive candidate in today’s job market. My skills acquired keep me in the top of my class. For example, time managing necessary to keep up with school work, community service, stay involved, sleep, prepare meals, have a social life, and exercise has been crucial to my success and sanity. The greatest experiences of my life have come from college.

I have learned so much valuable information in college. I know I will be more than prepared to begin my teaching career when I graduate college. My college experience has also helped me grow as a person, mature and find out more about myself. My school has also given me a sense of community and ownership.

As a freshman, I haven’t had nearly as much time as I would like to experience everything at UCF. Despite this, so far I have learned a lot in my classes, especially in the fields of mathematics and computer science. I feel that I have been able to greatly increase my human capital through my education. However, what I feel I have gained the most of during my short time in college is that of a real sense of independence. I initially thought that my first few weeks away from home were going to be scary. I didn’t know what I was going to do by myself! Shortly, however, I became comfortable with my surroundings and I decided to go job hunting, unfortunately with no result. I began summer classes worried that I would never get hired anywhere. Then I discovered the on campus book store was hiring temporary workers. I quickly filled out an application, and later on had my first real job interview, and to my surprise, I was hired on the spot! That experience in itself is what I believe was the biggest value I have gotten out of my time at UCF so far.

College has taught me that it's just fine to be whoever you want to be. In high school, it was all about fitting in and buying the latest, most trendy, thing to wear and watching the 'cool' shows on TV. At college, no one really notices what brand you wear, and you're going to find at least a hundred other people who watch the same obscure British comedy that you do and want to talk about it. College is liberating, you're free to fly in whatever direction you want to fly.

College is something totally different from what I expected it to be. I thought I would be out partying every night, getting bad grades and living "the college life." That was completely wrong. My college experience has taught me so much that I would have never learned otherwise. Since being at the University of Central Florida, I have made life long friends. I have learned that hard work does pay off and time management is key. I have been able to participate in a variety of organizations, plan events, take part in lots of community service activities and network. Everything that has happened to me in college and all of the people I have come into contact with will remain with me for the rest of my life. Moving away from Michigan and coming straight to Florida for college was a big step, but I was able to make a life for myself here and it has been amazing. I would never trade this experience for anything else in the world.

I am a first year students attending the University of Cental Florida and am currently enrolled in 13 credit hours in my second semester. I also work as a waitress at least 30 hours a week and maintain a 4.0 GPA at the university. In entering the second half of my first year, I can already see how influential my college experience will be, limited as it may be. Thus far, I have joined many clubs to participate and assist in the university. I am able to not only help other students with tutoring, for example, but I also learn about myself. When I was still in high school, some students claimed that college was easy and they were not learning enough for the money they paid in tuition at the University of Central Florida. Once I graduated from high school, I enrolled in classes at the university and, as a challenge, I intended to get as much as I could out of my classes. What I learned from my challenge is that college is what you make it to be, and you get back as much knowledge from a class as the hard work you put into it.

I really love the amount of one-on-one time a community college gives you. I really believe that for someone that learns with a hands on approach this type of smaller class setting is beneficial. I enjoy all of my instructors and will never forget any of them. They all take the time to make the experience enjoyable, but also an extremely functional learning environment. I know this because I also have attended a University with very large classes and minimal instructor contact. I just couldn’t thrive there, but here in a small town community college I have learned more than I could ever have imagined.

College has been a valuable experience because it made me realize just how much my family means to me. I only moved 300 miles away from home, and I applaud any student who moved out of state for their education. Moving away was the biggest transition I had to make, and leaving behind my friends and family did not make anything easier. Meeting new people and finding new friends was a completely new experience, and one that I had to overcome my pride to accomplish however, totally worth the mission. I come from a small, close-knit family and moving away and going to college was a first for any of us. The entire process was a learning experience for us all and it enabled us to share a closer relationship.

So far my college experience has been a mixture of many happenings. The one thing my college experience has taught me is to never give up. Being a freshman in college can be a very scary but exhilarating experience. For some students, the financial aspect of college doesn’t affect them because fortunately for them, their parents can afford to assist in this area. Other students are in such financial need that they can receive outstanding grants and scholarships and no longer have any worries. And then there are students like myself who are in the middle. My parents are not in a financial situation to help me with my college fees nor are we poor enough to receive any grants or large scholarships. This past year I have had to endure many horrible situations in which I could do nothing but cry about things but through these hardships I have learned that I can never give up. Even when the financial aid office denies me grants I will keep trying. One of the greatest minds in history, Thomas Edison, never gave up and look what he accomplished which is why I vow to never give up!

I have been working full time and putting myself through school my entire college experience. However, I would not change this fact. Going to college full time on my own dime has made me more confident and independent. I take my education very seriously because you truly get what you put into it. I am on time and I do my work. College has allowed me to meet many different types of people which is valuable in everyday life. Knowing how to get along with anyone and everyone is essential. College has also taught me time management and planning. I

I have learned through college. Mostly I have learned to be organized in everything. I organize my studying before I actually study. I organize all my school work, forms, papers, etc. It's the only way to 'keep it together' and make sure I always know where I am at. I also have learned that the only way to enjoy college and prepare yourself for the bigger world 'out there' is to get involved. Being at UCF for only one semester I juped right in the pool of clubs and just tried to stick my foot in whatever clubs I could get in. I now have a better network and friends from all over that just makes my college experience better every meetiing/activity. Volunteering has become a fun thing that I never want to miss because college students like the ones I know make it exciting nd worth while. I honestly cant wait to start working and really get my foot into this whole life thing.

I think the most important things I got out of my college experience is more knowledge but more importantly life experience. Coming away to college a few hours away from home helped me to learn more independence. Even though my parents paid for my schooling, I had to work in order to earn money to buy food and spending money. This was a great way to learn to save my money and not spend too frivolously before it really mattered and I need to worry about bills and other expenses adults have to worry about. College also helped me to gain life experience by introducing me to all kinds of people and ways of life. Where I grew up most of the people around me were of similar income with similar lives and experience. When I came to UCF I was introduced to many different people who had come for all kinds of backgrounds and living situations. I believe these experiences will be invaluable when I am done with graduate school and out in the real world having to interact with people from all walks of life.

The Univeristy of Central Florida has given me the opportunity to grow. I have been able to decide on a career through their guidance and experiences in the classroom. My degree has been highly regarded and helped me to obtain several job offers after graduation. I enjoyed my time there and have decided to return, to complete a Master's degree. UCF is only of the only universities in the country to offer the degree I am seeking. I have applied to UCF's Masters in Nonprofit Management program. This program will begin the Fall and I am excited to return to my school.

I have learned that college is more than just a place to make lifelong friends and get a degree. It is a right of passage for every individual, and an experience that each person, no matter what their economic, racial, or cultural status should experience. A college is an institution of higher learning. It is their not for your degree, but for you to learn. A college nourishes the soul and it's thirst for knowledge. Not just knowledge in the sense of physical books and learning, but the diversity that there is in this world. And whether your a small town kid, or a big city kind've person, a college draws more diversity to it than any other one place year round. It's like the World Cup, drawing people from every nation and ethnicity into one place, all looking for similar things. If you expand to think about the lives and experiences of each person at UCF, then you will have a better understanding on the world as a whole. I have experienced much of what Central Florida has to offer me. I'm at a loss for words for what it has given me.
