So far out of my college experience I have gotten a lot out of it. Like with all colleges, I have learned specific information valuable to the career field I hope to be a part of in the next few years. Besides all the information, one key thing I have gotten out of my college experience is the process of being open-minded. Many different classes have all brought upon different situations which force me to alter my thinking . I find this valuable because it helps me see others' point of views and keeps me with an open mind. Many believe that college is a scam for money. However, I believe that if I did not learn anything academically in all my years of college at least I did learn how to understand people better and live life open-minded and free to the ideas of others.

What i have gotten out of my college experience is more knowlegde in other types of subjects. In high school, there is to an extent in what students learn about, but in college it feels like a more fulfilling education. It has been valuable to attend because there is no point in spending so much money for college if someone is not willing to go to class. The people that pay for school and only go to get a good grade are not going to fulfill much in their fututre if they don't attend class. The point about college is to get a greater understanding of the major one chooses and to learn things that you were not familiar with or taught in high school.

My name is Erika Parga and I was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico. My brothers and I have the dual
citizenship because my mother is originally from Chicago. I attended Washington HS, which is a public
school on the south east side of Chicago. I am currently enrolled in Harold Washington College. My
educational journey has been a challenge, but it is also a valuable experience.
College has been difficult because of the language barrier. I have been fortunate to have excellent
instructors ,who are always willing to help. The obstacles in my educational journey have made me
grow and appreciate it even more. Education has enriched my life and it has shown me to be grateful
for the opportunity to pursue a career in computer technology. Technology is a necessary tool for
society and its development.
In conclusion, the road to a better life is about overcoming obstacles moreover, it is about
appreciating opportunity that comes your way. College has been challenging, however, I have had to
work hard. Hard work has helped me develop my social and educational skills. Furthermore, education
is certainly a way to give back to society and it provides an opportunity to share knowledge.

My college experience has just began, but the things i have learned so far will help me the next three years here and for the rest of my life. I have learned that you have to step out of your comfot zone in college, and that just trying to fit in will get you no where. Meeting new people is so important! there is so much that your fellow students have to offer you, priceless help that can make all the difference. I have met so many new people so far, and i am so excited to take the things i have learned here to the real world and into the classroom, as a elementary level teacher. Attending college is the most important thing i have done so far in pursuing my dreams, there is no way i could have expected to become the responible adult i am becoming without going to college, and i couldnt have expected to be prepared to teach children without the things i have learned about their development. College has made all the difference and has transformed a nieve highschool senior, into a realistic adult with real responisbilities that i can be held accountable for.

College has made me grow up in so many ways. I look back at my life before college and I see how much I've changed. I have gained independence; I appreciate the little things in life. I now appreciate all the things my family has done to raise and support me. Providing for yourself is not a easy task, so I can not imagine how hard adding children to the picture must be. I also understand the importance of studying. In high school I never studied, and I passed with a 4.38 GPA. College is a completely different setting. Study and pass or fail, those are the only options. College is not only a great academic value to me but a life value. You learn to gain your independence and show actual responsibility. Even though it is challenging at times it is an overall great experience.

My college experience thus far has told me that I can persevere through anything that comes my way. After going through deaths of loved ones, I delved myself into studies and though it has been incredibly hard, I know that I can handle anything that comes my way. Perseverence and a positive attitude is what I've learned thus far in my college experience.

In order to answer this question I need to prefice how I got to college. I didn't go directly from High School to college. I had family issues to deal with and I also took time to get married. This time put me behind in life. It also added things to my plate a normal student wouldn't face (ie. being estraigned from my parents, being a wife, etc.). My college experience has molded me for the future. My husband and I now have a chance at something better. I have gained the confidence and mechanisms to face people and obsticles in ways I never have before. If I can go to school without the help of anyone and with everyone throwing things in my way, I can do anything! The value I've found in attending is mostly in how I feel about myself. Attending college makes me proud. It makes me empower others to do things they think are impossible. I come from a family in which NO ONE HAS EVEN ATTENDED A COLLEGE CLASS and that never stopped me. Everyone should find value in the standards of UCF and be changed for the better.

I have realized that I have picked the best school. The professors are amazing, with years of experience and amazing stories to share with us; making the classes more interesting as well as showing the students how to get involved in their major. I also realized how important and fun an education can/is, if you pick the right major, then it's not like your going to school, you're going somewhere to have fun and learn all at the same time.

As I continue my college experience I have gotten an understanding of what I need to do in order to succed in the future and what it's going to take for me to make it in life. Views of my life in the future is what pushes me to attend class and I know by not going to class I am doing myslef no good and only lessoning my chances of making it. I learn valuable lessons all the time by going to class either from the teacher about life or whats going to be on the test or from me talking to older people in my classes and seing in thier faces that the life they are living is hard and have realized that without a college degree it is tuff to make it in life and I don't want that to be me when I get older so i do my best to make it to all my classes. I learn valuable class lessons as well as valuable life lessons by attenting class.

College has proved to be the greatest experience of my life. I have gained life long friendships and an education to prepare me for my future career as a Civil Engineer. The clubs on campus, particularly the engineering ones, have provided a great way for me to get in touch with local engineering firms and engineers to discuss how I should prepare for the future. I constantly get internship emails and updates, which are crucial to my career. College has also taught me to be more accepting of others. This was the time of my life where I "came out" and I did so because I found and became friends with people who had already done so. They gave me the strength to discover who I really am and I know this would not have happened if I had not attended the University of Central Florida.

I just become enrolled at UCF this spring semester, but so far my experience has been great. Coming from a smaller school I was afraid that the transition would be overwhelming, but I am happy to say that it has been a very smooth transition. This was only possible with the great staff that UCF has. I have been through very frustrating situations with other schools where no one seems to care and want to help when I’ve had problems in the past. However at UCF, I feel like everyone is looking out to make sure each one of us succeeds. There’s always an answer to my questions and the staff goes out of their way to ensure I am getting all of the help I need. Another thing that I value much is that the faculty in my program are always keeping me up to date with new program information, internships and career opportunities to help me flourish. I can assure you that you won’t find this kind of attention at any other school. This is why I am very happy with my experience at UCF and would highly recommend this school to other students.

When I intially got dropped off at the school, I didnot know anyone attending. Since, I have established friendships I believe will last my life-time. Furthermore, being a cancer survivor, I have always had others speaking on my behalf because as a teen cancer patient, I was not educated enough to know what was the right answer. From August to now, I have gained my independance. I am learning again to trust my decisions; I have a voice again for myself. I gained a confidence again in myself, I now know "I can do this", I am capable. I am loving my new life. I am learning that there is not just one way of getting something accomplished and that my way of thinking is just as valuable as others.

Ive learned to become more open with myself and others. Ive learned to interact with various types of cultures, and attitudes. Ive met extremely smart people that I can actually have a conversation with now. An enjoyable one at that.

Though I have only attended UCF for one semester, I have gained so much knowledge and experience to last a lifetime. Outside of class, I've met many friends and the "college dorm life" has been very rewarding. My schedule and classes last fall were great as well. I enjoyed my "Intro to Computer Science" class so much I actually considered changing my major and now am in the process of making Computer Science my minor. Being on such a big campus with so many opportunities to get involved and be apart of the campus life has also been wonderful. I attended many freshman activities and even applied for a position on the student government. Even though I was rejected, I learned that I will definitely keep trying, because even if you think you did your best, everyone else out there also did their best. Important life lessons like these have made attending the university worthwile. to me. Overall, my transition to college has been extremely positive, and I studied way more than I ever have before, but in the end, I earned straight As and am looking forward to this semester!

When I first was deciding to go to college I looked at the various colleges in my state, since I was a Bright Futures Scholar and was eligble for their scholarship with in the state. I looked atthe 7 major state colleges here and explored what they had to offer. I chose UCF, because of the warmth I felt when I visited the school, the students were extremely helpful, and talked highly of the school. The teachers that I spoke to were very encouraging and helpful in providing some direction as to my future career path.
I like the largeness of the campus, yet the closeness of the students who attended. I have recieved personal growth and guidance. I have found a career path that I feel will aid me in my future employment endeavors and I feel that UCF has helped me find myself. It provided me the environment to find the structure, the guidance, and the substance that I had not found in myself before. I know that this is one of the best and most valuable experiences I have had.

I've gotten perspective out of my college experience. This perspective is in different forms too. I have learned more about the world I live in, and more about what makes me happy so that i can find a job that I can live with for the rest of my life. I have all ways been one of those kids who didnt really want to be anything when they grew up. I always loved to talk to people but never really thought that I could make a career out of talking. By taking courses at school I realized that medicine wasnt for me, also that I needed to define my self more if I was going to complete a degree in business. So I started to take certain classes to find the field I wanted to go into which was finance. I wouldve never figured out all this with out going to college and studying different fields to see which matched me. With this perspective I feel blessed and in a direction that I think will be successful.

So far duriing my college experience, I have learned what it truly means to be independent. I've learned that it is definitely more difficult than it seems. Being independent means looking after yourself as a student, and a person. I have learned a lot about who I am as a person, and what kind of life I want to have once I graduate from the University of Central Florida. I have learned what a true honor it is to be in college, and to have the opportunity at higher education. It has been valuable to attend because I am learning about life not just from my classes, but from my experiences at the university as well. I cannot wait to see what is in store for the next three years of my college experience, and I'm sure it will be a truly wonderful and valuable part of my life.

The college experience had brought with it a multitude of good things in my life. It has brought opportunities for bettering myself not only in the classroom but also in my job. It's allowed me to meet new people and make what will hopefully be lifelong connections. The friends and the knowledge that I have gotten out of my college experience so far have made this a time in my life that I will never forget. These connections and the new wealth of information that I have gained through this experience have made in my mind college one of the things that is worth every penny. Its value shows in my happiness everyday because of the friendships that I have been able to form. Also it shows in the fact that attending this college has allowed me room to advance with my job and will continue to do so as I progress. Business is something that I have always wanted to excel at and through this college I'm being handed the keys to reach my goals.

I have met a lot of people at UCF that have changed the way I think. I've become more open-minded because of them and I think it has helped me to grow as a person. The diversity of opinions is remarkable and it is valuable to hear different ideas to shape what you believe about the world. Isn't that what college is all about? Learning concepts and ideas that develop you into a cog in the wheel of society to better it through your skills and abilities. By understanding other perspectives on life, we are able to take them into account to build a diverse society that allows freedom of ideas.

What I have gotten out of my experience was the knowlwedge of numerous professionals in the field. I learned things in my classes that taught me how to be, not only a good manager, but a great leader. I learned through the professors mistakes in the industry so I didn't make the same mistakes in the process of growing my career. It was valuable for me to attend UCF for multiple reasons. One,being hired in as a manager is done by either experience or degree and thanks to my college, I had both. Two, Some of the situations I have been in at work could only have been resolved as quickly and effectively as they have because of the outstanding education I received. I am very grateful for the education I have received thus far and look forward to continuing my education through my MBA in business finance.
