Valencia College is a great college for someone starting out. It isn't like the typical big colleges that have housing, but it has great academics and the teachers seem to really care about the students. There are a lot of clubs if you want to get involved, and there are many places to explore on campus. There are also many campuses so you can choose the one closest to your house.

I think Valencia College is a fine affordable college for those who are still finding their footing in academia or as a step-off point. My only issue would be the availability of courses because some campuses just do not have the same courses as others. Some courses are exclusive at some campuses which can prove annoying.

I believe that for a community college as accessible as this one, Valencia College is a pretty great place to receive and a good education and an associate's degree. Due to the generosity of my school district, everyone from my high school graduating class was given free tuition to attend Valencia College which was an absolute blessing. I had already been taking courses online in high school as I was in the process of getting my associate's degree a bit earlier. Moving on to do Valencia College full time was a pretty easy transition as the teachers are very understanding and counselors are very helpful. I would say that if you are looking to get your associate's degree somewhere, Valencia College is definitely a great option for you.

Valencia College is a disorganized, not helpful, and uninvolved. It’s extremely difficult to get answers to questions about financial aid and registration. It’s an all day activity to get one question answered and the answer you receive is rarely correct. I was interested in joining the school’s radio club, however it was impossible to get in contact with the club. The only thing I like about the school is the campus, which isn’t anything special, but I do feel safe.

I am a dual enrollment student at Valencia College and I think that it is a good school. I've been on campus several times and it's always lively. I'm unaware of any sports, greek life, etc, but the events they have make up for it. As for the academics, I think it's fine. I don't think it's as challenging as it is supposed to be, but it's not easy (depending on the class). Overall, it's a good school to start off with then move on to a university.

I can confidently say that the college's environment is absolutely amazing. The campus exudes a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that makes me feel right at home. The sunny weather and diverse culture of Florida add an extra spark to the overall experience.

Due to class size, Professor are able to answer questions and interact with students one on one. I always receive fast responses from professors and they are always willing to help.
I also find the campus to be very organized and clean. They frequently host events for students throughout the semester where students can participate and learn about clubs and activities they can join.

Valencia College is a great option if you want to go to school with flexible hours. The professors are always very caring and understanding of the students' lives. The work is easy to follow. This is a great option if you want to finish school on a tight schedule.

I have had an amazing experience at Valencia College. I started here in 2020 during COVID as a Junior in high school. I only did online for my first two years. I then went to a University, had a poor experience and made my way back to Community College. Valencia's teachers have made sure I am passing and are always available. The teacher's I've had in person have really tried to build a relationship with their students and made sure were all learning. There are a lot more opportunities then I ever imagined in my hometown.

It is a great college to see people and socialize. It is nice and small, has great facilities, and has awesome courses. The teachers can be too busy to help, the food is OK but a bit expensive, and the College is more affordable than most but is still expensive.

It was a nice first college for me. The campus was clean, the students were nice and the teachers were understandable when emergencies came up when the work could not be done. I do hope that my next college, UCF, will be as nice and simple as Valencia was.

I am just a Freshman this year and all of my classes have been online so far. I started this college in High School in Dual Enrollment during Covid, I have had all classes online and have only been on campus a few times for my registration, and to get my school ID. The teachers have all been really good to get back with me online with answers to my questions and have all been fair. The classes I have enjoyed so far and the students have been helpful with the peer reviews. I like the college so far and hope to be back on campus soon.

Valencia is an affordable college for people who can\'t afford to attend a university, valencia\'s environment is very welcoming, The professors that I\'ve chosen so far have all been great they care and are willing to work things out if you have problems such as an emergency. Although I didn\'t have the full experience with valencia college like on campus (events, staying on campus (union west), etc). I guess valencia zoom university has been a great experience. 10/10 recommend.

My opinion of Valencia college is that overall, it is a great school! It is a community college, which means that class sizes are smaller, and the professors often know you by name and answer your questions directly, which is very nice. The culture is very accepting, and most people are friendly and polite. Most professors are kind, and Valencia offers a plethora of different degree programs, which is amazing.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Valencia College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself that time management is the most important thing in college. There are going to be those times where your peers go out and are going to pressure you to go out and party with them, but it is up to you to take responsibility and stand up for yourself and say no becaause you want to be something in life. There is going to be a lot of time to party after college, and all you have to do is give up four years of your life. I learned this the hard way. For my first year of college, I joined a Fraternity and partied all the time. I really put myself in a difficult position. I don't regret anything I did because all you can do is learn from your mistakes. Now I am working real hard in school trying to bring up my grades. I am not saying to be a book worm and study all day and have no fun because that is not what college is. The way I see it is study hard and reward yourself by going out when ever you can.
Most of my classmates take their schoolwork seriously and expected to succeed. All of the professors in VCC give each student an oppotunity to succeed, and each student is aware of that. Most of my classmates are working either part-time or full-time and are attending school either part-time or full-time. Because many of my classmates work as they attend college, it shows how hard VCC students work towards obtaining their Associate degrees.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
One thing I dislike at Valencia Community College is the way lab classes are set up. For many other schools, a class is taught and the lab is standardized in order to make the schedule more flexible for the students. At Valencia, if a student were to select a teacher, the student must attend the teacher's specific lab. This may seem silly, but when juggling three or four lab-classes it gets very complex trying integrate each classes's schedule.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Valencia college use to be a community college, so therefor the classes are not as expensive. I can graduate with a nursing degree and pay a third, if not less, than any other university. This in general was my soul purpose for attending this perticular school.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person who shouldn't attend my school is someone who dosent take school very seriously. Someone who is just going to school because someone else wants them to. A person who is not dedicated to their future and what it has in store for them is not a good candidate for my school and should not attend.
I believe that any person of any background or religion can and should attend this school. This is an awesome place to get your education at and it has some wonderful people as well. If a person has been out of school for a while and decides to go back, this is a good place to do that at. I would recommend Valencia to anyone.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
A lot of people go to my school. I guess if there is a down side, then this would be it. If they don't go to Valencia, either their not going to college or attending a more expensive school where for them cost is not an issue. Everyone knows what Valencia is probably just as much as a person attending the school, which takes out the element of surprise. On the bright side, if the majority of students in my area are attending Valencia, then it can't be a bad school.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
I can honestly say I'm not big on some of the activities because I'm too busy sometimes. However, there is an honor society full of great people. The student government always manages to give us fun opportunities to join other groups and meet other people.
Valencia College is a good school. They encourage people to continue education after high school. I like to engage in many activities that involve community, and Valencia College had given me that opportunity.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
76% of students attending Valencia College receive some sort of financial aid.
62% were awarded federal grants.23%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
