Everyone that I spoke to at Xavier describes the professors as caring and truly interested in their future and in their learning. I want to be a part of that kind of learning environment where professors care about me.

I've known I wanted to go to Xavier since I was around 15. I was really drawn to the environment there and the nursing students I had met were so nice. It almost feels unreal that I'm a student here now. Overall the academics are amazing, most supportive and understanding professors you'll ever meet. The camp us is absolutely beautiful. The class size is great, it's about what you would have in high school. The cafe food is pretty alright, but I do recommend the restaurants in Gallagher (the fries at absurd bird are so good!) Last but not least if you're worried about your religion getting in the way of attending, don't. This school is so open and understanding, you don't have to be Catholic to succeed here, everyone is welcome.

I think that overall, Xavier is a really nice place to be. Not only are the people always friendly, but they are always willing to help. The food here is good and there are multiple places on campus that you can go if you want to hang out and talk with friends.

Xavier University was not one of my top choices at first, but as I toured the area and surrounding I grew to like it. My other choices for college were Miami University, University of Cincinnati, or Ohio state. And the reason I chose Xavier out of all those schools is because of their environment. I really liked their small population of students and how it’s not over crowded. I personally don’t like a swarm of students all crowded up while having to walk to class. I don’t want to feel like I’m in high school again. And the other schools that were in my top choices are super nice and I also loved the size and building. Although they were really nice, I have a few friends that go there and say how their class sizes are huge and you barely can talk and discuss subjects with the teacher. And in Xavier the class sizes are super convenient and regular sized. All the professors are class oriented and are always available, and always answering emails within hours. However, there are some things I don’t like about Xavier. The surroundings outside of Xavier’s is somewhat questionable. They barely have anything that’s walking distance to eat, shop, or just to look around. The campus itself is great, just the off-campus site is a little ghetto. I feel like there should be more grocery stores and places to eat around there. There's not much to do compared to the other universities I’ve toured. Overall, I give Xavier 4 out of 5 just because of the off-campus inconveniences.

I really enjoy my major and classes. We have to take a lot of core classes but this is to ensure that every student is a well rounded human. It is a private, Jesuit university that prides itself on inclusion and outstanding academics. The dining hall was also named the best in the country.

Xavier University is a wonderful school. The campus is all around beautiful, and I find it nice that it is small enough to see people I know walking around, but big enough to not know a ton of people in your grade. The students are very well supported considering we all have an assigned success coach to check in on us both academically and non-academically. It is very easy to make friends although it was a little difficult at the beginning due to Covid. The professors are amazing and truly do care about their students. As far as social life, on the weekends it is easy to find people to go out with, but if you want to stay in there is never any pressure for you to go out. I have loved every minuet of my experience at Xavier so far!

This is a very visually beautiful campus, and to be honest between that and the great academics that’s what sold me on Xavier. However, it is very hard to meet people on campus. The social life is not good. There is no Greek life and no parties. With the pandemic, making friends is just so much harder. I’m almost finished with the semester and I’ve made no actual friends. It’s so lonely. I know I’m not the only student who feels this way because I talked to a junior who said the same thing about the social life. ***Also very important note: if you can bring a car BRING IT.*** I will say that all of my professors are good professors though. Shoutout to Dr. Kayla Wheeler!!!! Take one of her classes she’s incredible

Xavier University is great school to attend and I have enjoyed my freshman year experience immensely. I fell in love with the campus and everything it had to offer. Students are friendly, professors are welcoming, and the atmosphere is very joyful. Additionally, we have a lot of school spirit, things such as basketball games and other sports are celebrated. However, if sports don't interest you, we have great clubs and are very supportive of our Arts community. Overall, Xavier is a fantastic place for higher education, I hope that everyone has the opportunity to attend school here.

I have loved Xavier University from the first time I stepped on campus. We have a super supportive student body, small class sizes which means great relationships with your professors, and awesome facilities. Campus is beautiful and small which makes for greats times walking around, studying outside, and hanging out with friends. I recommend Xavier to anyone who enjoys personal and deep relationships with others.

Xavier University offers an amazing education. The staff is very helpful and often makes time to fit you into their schedule. Not the mention almost every teacher has office hour numerous times a week. The downside is the immediate area surrounding. Although University of Cincinnati is two miles away, there is not much to do surrounding the immediate area. However, the school does try and have on campus events that allow students to be involved.

It's a decent school, very diverse. Every time I stepped foot outside I could see how everyone interacted very well. People of all different backgrounds come together inside and outside the classroom. It's such a lovely sight to see. The teachers are willing to put in the extra time to help, as long as you want it for yourself. If you didn't start off college feeling like an adult, you definitely graduated becoming one. When there is a political, racial, etc., issue that occurs on campus it is address immediately. I'm no longer living in the area and it feels good to know that they're good about keeping alumni aware and involved on things going on at Xavier, and continue to find was to improve the campus and students. You feel safe all the time and any suspicious activity is responded to immediately. Not only have I built great relationships with the faculty, but staff as well. The dining hall became my favorite place on campus, not just because of the wonderful food. I developed relationships with the dining staff that will last a lifetime. They were mentors, family away from home, and people that encouraged you to study and ace your exam. The fact that school believes in a lot of the things that I hold dear to my heart, made it the best home away from home, for me. I love how environmentally friendly the campus is and how they promote awareness on a plethora of issues. There wasn’t a time where I didn’t feel comfortable being on campus. I met some really cool people throughout my years at Xavier and wish nothing but the best for them.

I attended Xavier for a year and decided to withdraw to transfer. Overall, a pretty decent school. It’s safe, a beautiful campus, with average food. It’s overpriced and classes can be hard to get into but that’s what you’ll find at most universities. Hit and miss with professors, it’s good to check ratemyprofessor. A downside to small class sizes is sometimes not getting into the class you want or you might not get a great professor. I left because of the theatre program, while it puts on great shows, the program itself is not worthwhile. The head of the theatre program does not really care for his students, only himself. It was just a toxic environment where I felt like I was so under appreciated and unwanted. The shows put on by the theatre department were spectacular but sometimes that isn't what is most important. Being able to participate in great shows but feeling emotionally exhausted everyday from the environment, and being scared of the head of the department in every rehearsal or class just was not worth it to me. My mental health also took a hit while I was here and the counseling services on campus turned me away, and many others I know, so beware if you have any type of mental illness and want help.

Xavier is a wonderful campus, full of diverse people and goals. The campus provides a community feel and makes it easy to feel engaged and belonged. Students are encouraged to have discussions and think critically to form opinions. The studies provide a way to develop your whole person, rather than solely focus on your education and career goals.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Xavier University is 68%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Choosing the right college is primarily about deciding what is most important to the student. Every college has its own set of priorities and focuses on its own areas, whether it be sports offered, a certain major program, the social environment, cost, location, or a multitude of other aspects of the college experience. However, no college will have every one of these, so a student must decide which ones are more important to him/her. After deciding this, it is best to do a much research as possible through a high school counseling center or various internet sources to find a variety of schools that cater to those areas the student is interested in. In addition, several schools should be chosen that lay just outside the student's focus, so that the student may better evaluate the schools he/she is interested in, as well as the areas he/she has decided are most important. Once schools are chosen, the student should visit each school and take diligent notes, focusing on the areas he/she is interested in. These notes should be the basis for the student's decision of which college is best for him/her.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
The attitude of the people running the school and how poor it truly was. They put on a facade during any time when they were speaking to a large group and turned into awful people when it came to one-on-one discussions.
The best thing about school is learning new things in my field of study and meeting new people in the program. Because I go to a small school, the class I am in will be the class I am with for the rest of the time I am there so getting to know those people is the most enjoyable part for me because this is where I will probably make some of the best friends I'll ever have.
Any person can attend Xavier! You have to be willing to work hard and look for help when you need it. Students and staff are happy to help, and it is easy to meet tons of people within the first week of school. It is a small campus, but it is a huge community. Xavier has a huge network in Cincinnati and around the world that makes the school such a great community, but it is a very close-knit community.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The campus life is extremely close knit. It is impossible to walk accross campus and not know anyone unless you never leave your dorm room. And even then, you'll probably run into your roommate. People are extremely caring, and you never get lost in the shuffle.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who wants a smallish school with small classes, attentive professors, and a great sense of community. Good opportunities to get involved with a variety of activities, watch university sports, and do community service.
They seem to be relatively interested in what they are pursuing at this university, but I get the feeling most of them are not satisfied with where they are or what they are doing with their lives.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag most about the high academics provided at Xavier and the small atmosphere provided by the campus and classes. The classes are all very challenging, even the core requirement courses, causing each student to push themselves harder than ever in high school. Also, the small atmosphere helps make me feel like I'm home, recognizing almost everyone. And of course, the school spirit at the basketball games cannot be matched!
Definitely for their foundation in community service as well as their basketball team. Go X! Also, they have an amazing school of Business (The Williams College of Business).
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
They have to many required courses so you have no freedom to take a course because you like it, because it won't fit in with your major and you wont have time.
Everyone there has a great attitude. Everyone that helped me through the enrollment process truly cared about my success. I could not imagine my future without Xavier. Xavier has so much to offer me and my future, and I can not wait to see where Xavier takes me in life!
I have not started their yet, I will in the fall semester. But in going to both my Radiology director and my clinical instructor I can tell they are filled with knowledge and are just as excited to work with me as I am excited to work with them!
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
The most common stereotype at Xavier University is that we are all Dorky Bio or uptight business students who dont know how to have fun.
Is it true? No. We know how to get down.
