Nebraska Tuition Programs
Nebraska offers a few tuition savings programs. The Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) allows out-of-state students to pursue degrees with in-state tuition. It enrolled 881 out-of-state students in 2016-2017. In fact, the total amount of tuition saved was over $6.1 million.
As a result, public colleges agree to charge no more than 150% of in-state school tuition. Private colleges also offer a 10% reduction on tuition. In 2018, the MSEP program saved over $90 million in tuition. Several other states such as South Dakota and Kansas take part in this program.
In addition, the Collegebound Nebraska provides free tuition to a qualified student. This program is by the University of Nebraska. Full time students must be a Nebraska resident, Pell Grant recipient, and have at least 2.5 GPA. Also, students must complete the FAFSA to apply.
