There's a lot of students that are pretty much just like you that are trying to get an education and make friends along the way. Their computer classes are wonderful, and their art classes are very interesting. The speech class is very awkward at times, but can be very lively and amusing at times too. The speech professor is also absolutely amazing. The english classes are pretty interesting too, mostly the professor is fun to learn under. The math classes, plus workshops, really drew me in to be more interested in math. Their library is goodly INSANE. I love their library so much. It was very unfortunate that I was not able to stay long at the university due to personal life problems that arose, but the place was very nice to be at while I was there.

Cumberland University is an extraordinary institution and I will always speak highly of the staff and the academics provided. I have attended Cumberland University for three years now and the amount of knowledge I have learned and the opportunities I have been awarded with are the main reasons Cumberland is one of the best colleges I know of. The environment that surrounds you cant be found anywhere else. The professors take the time to listen to the problems you may be facing or the subjects you may not grasp fully. If I had the choice to do it over again Cumberland University would always be the college I would choose.

Cumberland University is like home. When I am there, we are not just students in school. We are family in a home. Everyone supports one another. We make sure to have each others back. To help build and grow. The faculty and staff are so supportive and understanding. They will do everything they can to help you be successful. They will sit there and help you and everyone else who doesn’t understand a topic, or just needs help in general. The accessibility to the teachers is very important. Being able to talk face to face with the professors is important for both students and teachers. You are able to understand each other as human beings. Once you make a connection with one another, you can begin to find it easier to learn and to teach. The office staff are very responsible and knowledgeable of each student. They care for their students, not because it’s a job, but because it’s their family. I feel so comfortable and happy to be on campus. I don’t call Cumberland University a school, I call it home. I might not live on campus, but I feel like I’m home when I walk into each of my classes, speaking with my classmates and professors. I feel like I’m not greater or less than anyone, but as an equal to everyone else. There are no “this person is better” or “that person is less”. We are one big team, we work together to help one another succeed. That goes for the faculty and staff as well.

I have already been accepted for the Fall 2023 semester. I am ready to attend something different. I am from a little small town so this is something that I'm used to. Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this scholarship.

I have loved being here at this university for the past 3 and a half years. I have made some of my best friends while here at this school. The professors really care about you not just academically as a student but also personally as a person. They help you from beginning to end and are always there when you need them. Go Phoenix!

It’s a good school a good school but needs work to be better. The first thing all students can agree is the food in the cafeteria needs to be improved. But other than that there is many other problems. It’s quiet and teachers are always trying to help.

Cumberland University is a small private school that is slowly evolving, but overall it is a great school. I would definitely recommend it to people even though it is not like the other big universities. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is super friendly and welcoming.

My time at Cumberland University so far has, in all honesty, been good. Like every college or school you attend, it has its ups and downs. It is a fairly small school and you can get from one end to the other in about 5 minutes. Most of the rooms in Memorial Hall are cold in the winter and warm in the summer unfortunately. But overall the school is great and the Nursing program is wonderful.

Cumberland challenges students more than most colleges will. The classes and studies are hard, but are meant to drive the student and help them grow. The professors are always there to lend a hand and help in whatever is needed. Like every college, it has it’s pros and cons but the good definitely outweighs the bad.

It is a wonderful school. The campus is small (which I love) and the professors seem to truly care about their students. Professors are very approachable and willing to help/work with each student. After I toured the campus, this was the only college I applied for because it seemed perfect for me.

Great school for academics and sports. Professors are always available during in season sports or off season. Great support between the various sports. The cafeteria is not that great. The school in located in a very small town. My overall experience is very positive.

Cumberland is a small school with several positives. The professors are very accessible and are always willing to help. There is academic rigor and many academic conversations around campus. It is a growing school with several majors to choose from despite its small size.
The food is decent as is the housing.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Cumberland University is 48%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I have a profound bilateral hearing loss. At the time I lost my hearing I did not quite understand my condition, but as the time went on, I grew to know that she meant I would never be able to hear like a regular person again. I felt so alone and unaware of my surroundings. People would laugh, and I would not know what the joke was; people would cry, and I would not even know why they were crying; it was complete and utter silence. The only sound I was able to hear was the ringing in my very own ears that gave me such a headache almost every day.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
i wish that i would have known that the administration was a joke. The common word around campus is for students to just hurry up and get away from there as fast as they can.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Over priced, over rated, and understaffed, they are non coropperative with veterens and the head of their registar dosen't even have a high school diploma. the entire place is an overpriced joke.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The nursing program has the reputation of being the best nursing school around the area. I wanted to be a part of this upstanding program and university.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Itssmall. People talk. If you aren't wise about the decisions you make, you might become unhappy, people here love gosip! It's not fun to be the talk of the town. Unless you are making great decisions and doing awesome, that sort of thing will be talked about too! I think if you use this small town to your advantage and stay on a positive track you will get a positive outcome and visa versa.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
most fustrating thing at this campus is that it for one is too small, the male to female ratio "on the main campus" is almost 6 to 1. And, the school is not ethnicly diverse at all.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about the relationships you gain while learning on campus. Normally when you attend a large college you don't really get to know the other students on campus while spending a lot of time studying. At Cumberlad University you grow personally with others while you study.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Cumberland University receive some sort of financial aid.
43% were awarded federal grants.45%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
