Drew University is a great institution for someone interested in the arts. There are a lot of great courses to take. Freshmen have the opportunity to choose a DSEM class, which is a 4 credit course focused on a specialized topic such as The Science of Shopping, Latinos in Hollywood, etc. There are also various clubs to choose from and anyone can join at any time!

Drew is a great school academically and there are a lot of opportunities you can get out of drew. The downside about Drew university Campus is that the res-life tends to not put you with the right group of people to room with and kids constantly have to change the rooms because of that.

Drew University has been incredibly welcoming. There is an diverse group of students here who are all here to become better people and better academics. I feel challenged but never overworked. My professors always let us know that they are available when we need them.

Drew University is one of the top private institutions in the country because of the reputation of the academics and the community feel of the campus. There are so many opportunities here from connections on campus to connections off campus. Internships are everywhere and the alumni are helpful and are glad to help. The social life and the food could be better but that is something that every college goes through.

Drew is not a very diverse university as they like to usually say they are, personally as a POC I find it very uncomfortable about how there is hardly people like myself which is very unfortunate. During my first year (2018-2019) racial slurs were plaster on university property which was pretty unbelievable. I believe Drew's academics and small classes would be the only reason for me to stay. Living on campus isn't so bad besides the food in the commons. Its a small-town so there isn't anything super interesting in town, this is why the school really promotes going into the city by train, (be sure to have money if you do decide to go) If you're not into Extracurricular Activities (i.e. sports) you won't really have much to do during the weekdays/weekends, if you're an art kids like me the art club takes long hiatus so be sure to join other clubs to have things to do.

Drew University is a great place if you are here to learn. Academics, especially in the sciences, are taken very seriously. As a STEM major and a pre-med student, I feel as though I have been equally challenged and supported throughout my undergraduate experience. I have developed priceless relationships with faculty that have fostered my success as a student. However, housing and meal options are not the best. Housing needs to be updated and the meal plans are not very accommodating to individuals with food restrictions (allergies, vegans, vegetarians, etc.). The school offers a decent amount of extracurriculars, but we are not a very sports-oriented university. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at Drew.

Drew is stellar academically because most of the professors genuinely care about and know their students. This past year student community and environment has been improving a little bit where people are actually able to find their niche of folks . There are also a lot of international students so theres an opportunity to form friendships with people who live all over the world!

I love this school because it's small and your professors are always available! I recently started college but as a commuter with a part time job, I consider that Drew is an amazing option for me. I love how small classes are and how relatable the professors can be!

For a small school, there are plenty of opportunities! From semesters abroad to local town events, there is something for everyone at this school. The professors really care and are willing to help any student, new or old. Very easy to make friends, everyone is willing to help eachother in times of need. Great school, overall.

Drew is a very tight knit community, where everyone knows each other. Everyone is willing to help and give advice, so you never have to walk around feeling lost. You will feel right at home in the Forest! The campus is large and beautiful, and looks especially amazing in the autumn.

Drew is what you make of it. It's important to establish yourself with your professors and make connections because they can really help you achieve your academic or professional goals. There are so many opportunities to do extraordinary things in and out of the classroom, you just have to take advantage of them.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back to my high school to college transition and give myself advice I would tell myself to make sure that when I got to college to join anything that interest me and to take up any oppurtunity that seemed even remotely interesting to me. I would do that because I feel like that is the key to having a successful transition and college years. College is the time when you have the time and the resources to do things like go abroad and join odd clubs and sports. Once you graduate into the real world, you no longer have the chance to do these things because you have to get a job and provide for yourself.

It is a really small school where everyone knows everyone and it is very friendly and also great with helpfulness and opportunities for help (free tutoring and helpful caring professors) along with special programs such as going abroad to study, volunteer and internship and also programs such as the walstreet semester (for my business major).
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known that a year after I came, the tuition would go up making Drew the most expensive school in New Jersey. I can't afford paying almost $50,000 a year even with financial aid.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I emphasize the fact that it is a small campus, allowing for better student-to-teacher interaction. Class sizes are smaller, thus facilitating in-class discussion which helps students to learn more effectively and understand the material. We have a top-notch psychology and political science department. Also, our school has a particularly high rate of students that find jobs within their field after graduation.
Everybody is very diverse, and for the most part very well cultured. It feels like the entire student body is able to get along with eachother like one big family, not separated into groups.
I think the type of person who should attend Drew should be open to new life experiences and be willing to accpet different types of people. A sucessful Drew student is someone who likes to have a good time and socialize, but at the same time is willing to put their education first. Drew University is a very expensive school and people shouldn't take the education they are given for granted. Also, if that person fences, we have one of the best fencing teams in the country. In addition, we have exchange students from all over the world.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I think the most frustrating thing would be the separation that can occur between different groups on campus. It can sometimes be difficult to talk to different groups due to the separation between sports teams, theme houses, and other groups. This can be frustrating when you are trying to meet people in other groups or break out of the group you have fallen into.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I believe the majority of type of persons I've meet in this school filled out the requirement, so I would recommend it to everybody but most to people concentrated in business and arts if not I wouldn't recommend this school.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
99% of students attending Drew University receive some sort of financial aid.
