It’s a place that feels comfortable almost like it’s home. You can be yourself in the small class sizes and great professors. They have very welcoming sports programs even if you’ve never played a sport before! They have a great supportive veteran program being a veteran myself! They have many other clubs and activities to be apart of. Overall it was just what I was looking for!

Finger Lakes Community College was a wonderful opportunity for myself. I enjoyed my time there tremendously. I always felt at home away from home while I was attending. Though I was only there for 2 years I made connections that I will have forever. The professors really take the time to help you achieve all of your goals no matter how big or small.

Everyone here is fake up front and two faced, even a select few teachers can be A holes. The students barely care about thier major, our projects for homework and such are always crammed within a week, plus we are supposed to br using blackboard for grades and posting work but of course the teachers will not use it. Then the dorms are always smelling so weird. The walls have no insulation so you can hear your roommate bagging the third chick hes met that week. And overall this place sucks worst experience of my life.

I adore Finger Lakes Community College. It’s a great place to begin post-secondary education!
I’m an adult learner, and I found coming back to school easy. It has been easy to receive help when I need it, the online platform is simple to understand, and I am enjoying learning for the first time in a long time.

The campus is clean and easily accessible. The professors seem to really care about students and are available for questions or extra-help. The two that I asked were happy to provide letters of reference for me. One of the math professors invited me to join in a math contest even though I don't actually qualify yet because he thought I have the potential to do well.

I have really enjoyed my time at FLCC. I have not taken full advantage of the help they offer. I could really use some after school help with some of my past classes. I intend on taking full advantage this upcoming year (2 semesters). The teachers are all helpful, the technology is up to date and easy to use. Taking quizzes and tests outside of class is not my favorite, as if you forget to set a timer for this quiz/test, then you get a zero. This happened to me one time only!! I am even considering taking extra semesters to receive my Bachelor's Degree. I have some friends that are in the process of doing that right now. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. I always receive an answer to any question asked. Top notch SUNY college.

Finger Lakes Community College is a vey welcoming and accessible campus. The housing is located near the main building which is handy and the professors are super nice and friendly. I felt very welcomed on campus. The students are very helpful and informative.

This is a great school. The students come from all over because of the different programs that they carry here. My experience here has opened me up I was very shy not liking to talk in front of people public speaking helped with that I still get nervous but it helps taking that class. I am returning after being out of school for 20 year when I started and I was treated as I was just another student. If you want a good local school school you should look into Finger Lakes Community College.

I don't understand why anyone would start out at another college. FLCC is the perfect transitional school between high school and a four year college. The advisers are extremely helpful and personable, the professors genuinely care about your success and the academic standards are exceptional. The academic support options for students are abundant and available for just about every topic. The expectations the college holds you to are perfect to prepare you for transfer schools and the outside world. I feel very proud to have maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout my time here.

I would love to study here. It would be a dream already in the process of accomplishing... The school was Established in 1965. Students from approximately 350 high schools in New York State and across the United States enrolled at FLCC in Fall 2016. I get to learn from all around the world why so many people are interested in what Im interested to also.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Finger Lakes Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to study harder for the SAT's, and begin the whole process sooner. I would make sure that I didn't have an anxious feeling as I approached the end of my year by securing a good GPA and keeping my studies up above all else. I would also have applied for scholarships sooner, knowing now that they are very difficult to get.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I don't really think there is a bad thing about FLCC. I do get rather frustrated with their Financial Aid Office at main campus, but I avoid them by contacting the Financial Aid Office at one of the off-site campuses.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about how cheap it is to afford to pay for a class out of my own pocket compared to other colleges. Personally, I thought 552 dollars was expensive for one 4 hour credit class, but many other college charge much more than that. The lower costs I brag about the most to my peers and family members.
Everything! The staff, students, programs, and extracirricular activites are all great and very helpful. I'm a returning adult student and the school has so many options available that it makes it easy for me to fit school into my busy home life. I was worried about going back to school but FLCC has made it so easy and so much fun that I am glad I decided to go.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I previously attended FLCC and acheived my original Associates' degree. I subsequently attained my BS in Health and PE. Since I originally graduated from FLCC in 1998/99, I have missed the warm, positive environment. I wish I had known of other colleges (4 yr schools) that are as inviting as FLCC.
Determination, dedication, and strive are good characteristics of the type of people who should attend Finger Lakes Community College. Honestly, no matter what college someone chooses to attend they should have goals and work toward fulfilling those goals. Hard working people learn to appreciate their grades rather than slackers because they put effort into their classes. People with good attitudes and respect toward fellow classmates and professors would be good for attending Finger Lakes Community College.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
FLCC is the only college I have attended. I have not been in school since 1975 and things have changed drasticly I am impressed with the newer technology which FLCC has available to students. All of the staff is very helpful with all issues and questions. The campus is very beautiful and modern located in a very nice medium sized city very convienent to Rochester and Geneva and other colleges.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I believe the type of person who would not feel "at home" at FLCC is someone who loves a busy, fast-paced, highly populated place like a city. FLCC is not a big school (there are only about 7,000 students) and even though there are things to do around town, it is nothing compared to a large city. I feel that if someone who belonged in a city went to FLCC, they might get bored easily.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my college is the difficulty of finding a parking spot. Oftentimes if you do not find one in the front parking lot you have to park way out of the way and walk ten minutes to get to class. This is also frustrating because if you do not get there ten minutes ahead of time you may be late to class.

FLCC is a small, close knot College. The comfortable and positive atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The professors know each student by name. It has always been evident to me that each professor I've taken classes with is an expert in their field, and is genuinely interested in enriching the lives of students. It is a friendly and warm place.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
