Lawson State Community College-Birmingham Campus

I love Lawson State Community College. They have 200 programs you can choose from and they're affordable than most colleges. They're for your best interests. Lawson do not accept student loans but they do accept pell grants, scholarships, and payment plans. They also have a great workforce program to help pay tuition and other fees. With that being said , you won't be in debt. The campus is safe and easy to get around and it's well kept and clean. The only con is their finical aid office don't have great communication especially with following up on your aid status, which will definitely have a impact on your classes. Overall, I think it's a great college.

I love this college. It's a great place to be! I will be a freshman in the fall and I am excited to begin this new chapter in my life. The campus is beautiful and so are the people. I feel comfortable about getting started. The atmosphere is inviting and the campus is one you can't imagine.

Overall Lawson State has been an awesome college so far! My first semester was great, even though, I got lost a few times but that happens to everyone on their first day. There are a handful of clubs/organizations to participate in, the basketball team is very spot on, the cafeteria food is delicious and the teachers' lectures and the teachers period are great. I always feel like every day I am learning something new. I am so glad I came to Lawson State for my college experience!

I love the school . Most of the teachers are nice and i can always talk to them and get help with anything i need. I think it’s a great place to get your basics done. So when you go to a 4 year school you will always have the easy stuff out the way . Just like any school there are going to party’s but at Lawson stay they keep you on the right path really try to help you make it in life.

Lawson State is a great school to attend. The classes are just right so students are able to interact with instructors, I don't live far from the college; that's a plus. And they have the #1 Nursing program. Lawson State Community College is awesome!

For Lawson to be the first college I have attended, I think it met my expectations. Great campus, great classes, and awesome professors. They are very engaging and genuinely care about how well you do. Lawson made my college life exciting and gave me space to grow.

Lawson State Community College has taught me many things, not only educational, but lessons that I can apply to my everyday life. To me, education is a matter of future success and I am proud of Lawson for providing me with what and I need and more to prepare me for the life I strive to live. The teachers and staff are very welcoming and helpful when it comes to any questions or concerns about any needs. They always greet me with a smile or peep a simple “hello” as I walk through the halls, which always brightens my day. It is easy to initiate a good relationship with fellow teachers and students. There is barely any animosity between students on campus. I have already met many great people that I feel will be in my life very long who are also as determined to reach their goals as I am. Lawson’s campus holds many great students that are easy going and dedicated. Lawson always reminds us of different opportunities that are available for the success of their students and they strive everyday to make sure we are provided with any means necessary to help the student body flourish. I know that Lawson cares because they show it through their actions and the way they educate us everyday. The professors may even go out of their way to help you with any educational opportunities or needs that they may see available for you. I am very proud of my college!

Great learning at affordable cost. The faculty is staffed with highly qualified personnel that dispense knowledge skillfully. The campus security is a visible presence in the campus giving students peace of mind as they embark on the search for knowledge. Overall, LSCC gives its students a great learning experience in more ways than book smart. I would definitely recommend it to my peers!

I think it is a great community HBCU college and if you do your work and come to class regularly , college life should not be that stressful here. In my opinions, they set standards for there students, I am not sure if all other colleges/universities do this but in order to actually pass a class at Lawson, you must have an C and above, D's and F's are failing grades so I think because of that, students really have a high standard to pass class because at Lawson, a D is not acceptable plus there burgers are delicious.

I feel like the school could use some renovations and updating of the campus to accommodate the college students better. More use of the in-class technology. I am a second year returning student & the past three semester the school has charged a building/facility fee but there is not even hot water in all the restrooms.

Lawson Sate Community College is an amazing school for urban youth who need to develop character, work ethic, and time management skills to work in the real world. The teachers, staff, and faculty truly care about the students enrolled here. Teachers are available whenever you need them and staff and faculty give their best effort to ensure that students get what they need. Student life is rather diverse. ON every campus there are students who don't seem to care about their future . However, those students seem to be a minimum at Lawson State. Overall, it is just a genuinely caring and efficient higher learning institution.

The people their were so friendly. They took us to all their facilities and even talked to us about their history. I loved the atsmophere. The reason there isn't a Five Star is the students weren't school appropriate. Overall it was great and I loved the teachers.
