I had a great experience at Lorain County Community College. The best things about this school to me were the teachers and classes. Most of the teachers I had during my time here were engaging, helpful, and cared about their students' success. They were also open to discussions and questions. The classes were well-organized, and I thought the quality of the classes was very good, especially for a community college.

Lorain County Community College is a great place for people to start off on their walk to getting a higher degree in whatever type of career they wish to pursue. The college is great to start off in getting basic classes out of the way and earning an Associates degree, before moving on to a University to pursue a Bachelors or Masters degree.

I would say the school has some pretty amazing teachers. Everywhere you go there is always someone there to help. There are a variety of programs offered at the school and it is a great environment to be at. I enjoy every moment being at school and the teachers make learning a fun experience.

LCCC is a great school to start your education. They have a wide variety of degrees and programs to choose from. Small class sizes and professors who are available to help students academically and personally make LCCC a great community college. The faculty go above and beyond to help students and provide many resources for student support. They help students achieve their goals and help them with problems outside of class that may be affecting them through their many services, including: counseling, a food pantry, career advising and assistance, job fairs, and many financial aid opportunities.
LCCC is a small, beautiful campus and has a large library, a Subway, and Starbucks. There are several student organizations and sports to participate in. For everything the college provides, it is an incredible value.

Lorain County Community College has offered me many opportunities to finance my educational career. I decided to attend LCCC to receive my Associate's Degree before transferring to Ashland University, where I am now a Partnership Student at LCCC's campus. By attending LCCC, I have been able to live at home, work full time, and be a student full time. The staff at LCCC cares about each student and wants them to succeed. I would highly recommend for anyone still in high school or is unsure of a university or is in financial need.

Lorain County Community College is more like a family house than a college. Offering a wide range of degree programs and classes, there is always fun available and staff encourages free thinking. An awesome gym, free food cupboard, and a lot of help is a benefit of LCCC, and makes the campus all the more appealing to everyone, including community members.

Honestly, I go to high school at LCCC and it is a great place to go and to learn. There is no on campus housing or off campus housing because it is a community college so most students live really close to campus or like me go to high school and still live with their family.

Lorain County Community College is a great school with many opportunities that are easy to find. I believe that this community college tries to achieve the best for all of the students attending. For example, they received the First in the Nation for Student Success award by the American Association of Community Colleges. Another example is that I attended one of their several early college programs that allowed me to obtain a head start on my college success.

LCCC has given me so much in the short amount of time that I’ve attended. I had the opportunity to run cross country and run at the NJCAA DIII national meet in Boston. In addition to athletics I have been very successful in the classroom and have earned straight A’s since I’ve attended LCCC following high school. This success is made possible by my professors and their contributions to the courses. LCCC was named the community college for student success in 2018 and it really lives up to that title.

As a community college it is fantastic, especially if you plan on transferring to a four year degree in state. All of you credits will transfer to the majority of schools in the state and the staff is prepared to help you do so. The classes they offer are a wonderful place for people to start their college career if they can't afford a big school quite yet. The campus is nice as are the people. I have enjoyed being here immensely. You will always find people complaining about being in a community college, but I find that those are the people who aren't really applying themselves. I've done very well here and look forward to transferring to a four year program in fall 2019.

Lorain community college is an overall nice college. I really like the affordablity of the college but , I think the college facility gets overwhelmed in how many students there are and I have had multiple occasions where I’m told misleading or wrong information for finacial aid questions.

good school to start your educational journey and is cheap enough for the basic courses you need for a degree. i would recommend this college for anyone who want to get back into higher education after a long break from high school. overall the college is a solid place to learn and grow.

Being a community college, it is a commuter college. Many students begin their academic career with Lorain County Community College, and then continue their education with a university. Other students graduate from Lorain County Community College with their degree. LCCC provides students the opportunity to earn a degree, or complete classes towards a degree at a much lower cost than other colleges and universities, which is great for many students. Almost all of the students at LCCC attend after graduating from Lorain High School (the only high school in our city) so there is an amazing sense of unity and community with the students. The college is in a relatively busy area (for our city), so there are plenty of places within a 5 minute walking distance to eat, or spend time between classes. Class sizes are around 20 or so students per class, so we have a unique opportunity to have a closer relationship with professors than other universities. Professors keep regular office hours, but some offer to be available at all times through e-mail or text. Having moved out of state, I was not able to continue with LCCC, and there are not many online classes offered, especially in order to earn a degree. If I had stayed in state, I would have attended LCCC and likely received my degree there.

The real problem with LCCC is the administration. The campus is very nice, the teachers are decent, and it's pretty affordable. But all that means nothing when the people who work in their offices range from indifferent to flat out rude to completely vacant. Literally no one has any idea what's going on or how to help you. So if you have a problem, be prepared to be sent all over campus on a wild goose chase and leave hours later with nothing accomplished.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lorain County Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to study harder and do the best I can. I would tell myself to apply for more scholarships. Go to a community college and take all the classes you can before going to a larger university because it is cheaper. Also adjusting to dorm and college life is not as easy as you may think.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
I highly suggest LCCC for working professionals. I have very much enjoyed the online classes through THE ANGEL NETWORK. It made school do-able as a full-time career student.
There is a large variety to my classmates at LCCC, ranging from ones that are fresh out of high school to others that are returning to school to further their education; there is also a large variety of different ethnic groups, making this higher learning institute very diverse and interesting.
Local presence and helping the community. They also have a University Partnership program with many 4-yr colleges such as Ashland University and Cleveland State University where you can get your 4 yr degree through LCCC. They also have programs where the local high school students can attend college classes for High School credit and college credit simultaneously. They are a way to obtain a high quality degree at a low cost that financially fits the budget better than a tradtional 4 year college.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person who shouldn?t attend this school is someone who is looking for the ?University experience? with dorms, sorority/fraternity, and huge school activities. As a community college, it does not offer any room and board or sororities/fraternities. It operates on a business schedule so activities are limited in time. Also, the school does not belong to the NCAA, so sports players might want to choose a different college.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
When I think about going to Lorain County Community College it has a negative connotation because it is a community school. That is the only thing. I think that that is the worst thing about LCCC because I want to be able to go away to school, it has nothing to do with the actual school.
Any student that is looking to get a higher education should attend this school. This shcool is for students that don't have a lot of money but want a college education.
LCCC has a PSEO program which allows me to earn college credit while still in high school. So, after this year, which happens to be my senior year in high school, i will be entering college as a sophomore because of all the classes i have/am taking this year.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I couldn't say enough about how satified I am with school. I've learned so much in such a short time, i wish everyone that
wants to be in Cosmotology could experience what I am right now. But it really has been a little easier for me because this is what
I wanted to do foy years and now I'm getting the chance! If only everyone could be so lucky!
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
