What are the academics like at Quinnipiac University?

Alyssa

Most of my time on campus is spent in the library or in the lab because I have a pretty demanding schedule, however, I don't mind it all that much because I take pride in my work. There is always an opportunity to meet with a professor if I need help with something. I feel that the communication between professors and students is really strong and I love that about Quinnipiac.

Nicole

Here at Quinnipiac, the classroom size is fairly small. In this environment, students are able to seek their professors for help. All of my teachers know my name which makes for a better learning environment.

Jessica

Some professors know their s tudents names. It depends on how many questions you ask in class, because usually when a student asks one the professor asks their name and its more likley that they will remember you. Class participatoin is common in some classes that involve discussions.

Sarah

its nice that professors try to get to know me and they are approachable and always willing to help. the competition is high, but that gives us more incentive to do better if there is competition.

Emily

Quinnipiac definatly prepares you for graduating by giving you a well rounded education and the support you will need for entering into the work place post graduation. Students are able to get the classes they want and explore other options in taking electives. Alot of the opportunites are hands on so its great practice for entering the working world.

Arielle

I know all of my professors names and most of them know mine. Quinnipiac students are able to have intellectual coversations outside of class and are often seen meeting eachother in the library to study.

I am a math and secondary education major. It is awesome but very difficult and stressful at times. Some great teachers are Dr. SHaverdian and Dr. Rothman!!! I think the standards are set really high to push us and I really like that. I think I will have a very easy time getting a job after school.

Colleen

The professors are great, in my opinion. All of mine had made the effort to know all their students and I've always felt like i can approach them to ask questions or for help. My favorite class was an art class last sememster because it was very relaxing and a nice break from regular academic classes. I think students definitely are competitive with each other, which also makes people work harder. The academic requirements are a pain because there are certain requirements such as science credits, and I am a communications major, meaning there is a very very small chance i'll need biology in my field, so it just takes up more time and i cant focus as much on my own major requirements.

Brianne

Professors know our names. Participation is common and there are conversations within classes. Class sizes are small. My department is especially small. The only negative to it is that it is a mainly female major and most of my classes are all women.

Sasha

i love the small settings of the class rooms, i like how the teachers here have experience in their work. they are usually willing to help... and i like how they dont really like grading but they have to do it for the university
