The greatest part about South Puget Sound Community College is many of the faculty members. Many of the faculty members are very passionate about their subject and love to help students during and outside of class time. Overall, most of the staff is friendly and very helpful.

I did Running Start and took SPSCC for part-time only and overall, it was a great experience. The classes were obviously pretty challenging but the professors were really understanding and had a lot of sympathy towards the assignments. I took in-person and online classes. In person was way better. The students there were really nice and they wanted to learn as much as I did. I made a lot of friends and had a great time there.
Angelina
My overall opinion was very lackluster as I took the majority of my classes online due to the distance. While I have had the luck of overall good professors my friends have not and have run into issues like a final not being graded due to a teachers unclear standard and the professor not making the assingment clear until after the deadline.
Aurora
I really enjoy the class sizes. The parking can be difficult because there is no on campus housing, but there is a bus that reaches both campuses. I enjoy the school, and I feel that it is a safe, positive environment for me to learn in. I give a smile and a thumbs up.

SPSCC is the community college closest to the city capital. It is kind of hidden so you have to look for it a bit. Parking is great as it is free and all over. Many of the instructors are easily accessible and can be contacted easily. SPSCC has some great advisors and there are lots of groups to join if you want to.
Kai
I am a running start student, and have been attending SPSCC for 2 years now. It has truly been a wonderful experience for me trying to graduate with an Associates in Science. The college near me doesn't have lab classes so I had to go to SPSCC, even though it is 45 mins out of my town. However, the teachers, academics, campus, and people have kept me coming back. Its a great, beautiful, lively place, humming with excitement.
Julian
In my time at South Puget Sound Community College, there have been some professors that can be a bit tough to get along with, but we all have those no matter where we go. Overall, the community here is great and it's easy to get involved with the people around you.
Chloe
I think SPSCC is a decent community college, it is certainly the best in the southern Washington area. I would say, compared to other schools I have been to, the professors aren't very personally invested in their subjects. The quality of lectures also needs to be examined.
Ashton
The college very obviously cares a lot about their students. They go out of their way to make sure the students can afford their education, by providing funds directly from their own foundation. I only wish that there were more on-campus activities to do.
Skye
South Puget Sound Community College is a great school to go to. The student body is welcoming and the professors know their subjects well. However, going to the financial aid office can be like pulling teeth. The classes can get expensive depending on the degree but it is worth it.
Vegas
SPSCC is a great starting college. I have found the professors, advisors and all the staff to be helpful and informative whenever you need. I believe the faculty cares about their students and truly want the best for them. With both online and on campus classes, this school provides the best experience that can meet anyone’s needs.
Larry
I think it is a good community college to go since the cost is low for a quarter really and they will do anything to help a student out in their time of needs. I really hope that the reputation continue to be well in the future. This community college is a place to go.
Mackenzie
SPSCC has a good atmosphere and I've never taken a class that I didn't enjoy. Of course some classes are better than others but all proffesors are passionate about what they teach. They also have plenty of clubs that help you connect with different cultures and learn more about your fellow class mates.
Kaylene
The school works hard to get the students engaged and for the students to succeed. If you reach out for help of any sort you are sure to get help. There is an abundance of activities for the students to branch out. All of the professors I have encountered went above and beyond to help.
Ashley
I have not had a professor yet who has not put at least 90% effort into each class. I have encountered a few who seem to have better things to do than read my email or show me minimal respect but that is usually luck of the draw. In every class, I have had a solid chance of receiving the A that I want. That is not to say that some circumstances have made it more difficult to do so, but it has been made available. Online classes tend to be very well displayed and deadlines are easy to follow. The in-person classes can have some lecture heavy professors, but they usually know how to vary their classes from day to day. The parking is not ideal at all. However, this is a typical college issue due to the large population of students. They also offer free bus passes as well as additional parking to those willing to pay an extra fee. There are food options and quiet studying spaces. The library is well equip with computers and printers as well as group studying rooms for added ease. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with a few small bumps in the road. I am always willing to deal with a few small bumps in return for a degree that will aid my future forever. All thanks to South Puget Sound Community College and its employees who helped me along the way.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time to when I was a high school senior, I think I would tell myself to relax a little. As a high school honor student, I was very stressed for going off to college, for a number of reasons. I thought the transition from small high school classes of students that rarely cared about the work and where constantly shooting glances at the clock waiting for the dismissal bell, to a fifty-student lecture hall where I would have to take constant notes on the professor's lectures to pass huge exams, would be a nightmare. I thought wandering around different buildings across an expanse of winding campus paths would also be a major stressor. However, once I got to community college, I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere of the entire campus was much more relaxed than I thought; in fact, much more relaxed than high school. So, if I was able to go back in time, I would tell myself these things. I would tell myself to keep an open mind; the students at college are much different than high school students. I would tell myself, that I would be fine.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Its so expensive. Every quarter I have to buy new books. It gernerally cost about $400.00 a quarter to buy the required books. You can sale them back to the school for pennies on the dollar or try to nagotiate with other students . Its a pretty big pain and when your in school every penny counts its amazing to buy a book for $185.00 wow really? do they need to be that expensive?
It seems pretty outrageous to me.
The best thing about the school that I attend is the fact that they have more than one program, and atleast one of the programs will have something of your interest. They provide everyone with any kind of problems, disabilities, etc, with the kind of attention they need. They will try there best to keep the students attending, satisfied.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I tell friends about my college, there are a few things I brag about. First of all, the atmosphere of the college itself. It's very laid-back, and everyone there actually wants to be there, and is there to work for success, unlike high school. My peers are very professional and think more creatively than the adolescents in high school. Bouncing ideas off of them is very rewarding. In addition, my college offers really fascinating classes. I learn more than I ever did in high school, and about subjects I'm genuinely interested in.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
How hard it was to raise a child and work full time and go to school. I wish I did go to school right after highschool, but you know life happens and life gave me a beautiful son that is everything to me. I do know now it is harder to go back to school and succeed rather than going to college right after highschool since the preperation and skills needed for college are fresh in my mind. Now I have to retrain myself to get back on track and succeed in my son's eyes as well as myself.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school would definitely be the parking availability. I have to arrive 30 minutes early everyday just to ensure I get a parking spot.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
This school has the most to offer me in my area. They can be flexible with my lifestyle, I am a mother of two and I work full time. I can also tranfer to a four year University if I later decide, as well. The feel of the campuse and the classes is great. I feel accomplished and determined every day.
Anyone could attend this school if they have the desire to learn. South Puget Sound Community College has wide support network, not only amongst it's staff, but the students as well. The most important aspect of a persons personality should be that they are open-minded and willing to accept, but not necessarily agree with, people and opinions from all walks of life.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
If you are pursuing a certian career path, this may not be the best option. While this school has many classes to choose from, it lacks many higher levels in each subject because it is only a community college.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
