Really great school! The Facilities are excellent and the dorms are one of the best dorms I have ever seen. The food options look amazing and the shops and restaurants are easily accessible. When I saw the classes, they presented so much opportunity to succeed and learn. The swim program looks amazing. Stevenson is one of the greatest colleges I've ever seen.

Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD is better known as a career-focused college rather than other institutions. Apart from the curriculum that prepares students for the job market, there are a few positive qualities of the university that students look for, particularly in business, behavior sciences, and the fine arts in the job market among other fields.
The smaller classes are beneficial to the students since they receive more attention from the instructors. In terms of the student body however, everyone is engaging as the students and professors interact.
In Maryland, internships and job opportunities available at the various city centres are enriched by the presence of Stevenson College.
However, if you are after an institution that is all about hands-on training and the professional skills in the job market, then Stevenson would be a very good choice for you to attend.

I think Stevenson has a great community that is able to have a lot of fun but also has strong focus on academics. When on campus, I feel safe and feel as thought the community at Stevenson is very welcoming, no matter who you are, I think you can find a place at Stevenson.

I love the campus and the school environment. I felt like I was already a part of the Mustang family before I even decided to commit there. I also feel like the on-campus dorms are very nice, especially for the freshmen. There are many places where freshmen do not get very good dorms, but at Stevenson, you get very good dorms no matter what year you are.

As an upcoming first-generation freshman, it can be terrifying knowing what I want to do and where I want to go. But after visiting Stevenson I felt like I was truly at home. I've partially felt that way at other colleges but it was due to unnecessary details and I felt as if other colleges overdid themselves to the point where it didn't even feel like a school anymore, I felt as if I was touring a gallery or a museum. On my tour at Stevenson, I was shown all around the campus and I love how student-life is separated from the academic life. I truly do feel like I'll succeed here at Stevenson, and I'm excited to start my journey there!

It is a very nice and prestigious school where I feel like the world is at my figure tips and I don't have to worry about unexpected visitors coming to interrupt my school. Also, my family feels very comfortable about me being on my own in a secure environment.
ALEXANDREA - 04/28/2021
I love the modern feel and look to the campus. Has a feel of a small town complex with everything in walking distance. The administrators are wonderful and informative to talk with. Housing is large enough and comfortable. The food choice are many .
Kiarra - 06/28/2020
I love going to Stevenson University. The dorms are suite-style, which means that there are typically four people in a suite those four people share a common area (a micro-fridge and a bathroom). When you become a junior or a senior, you have the option to get an apartment. The faculty is also very involved. The class sizes are not that big. There are many clubs, organizations and extra-curricular activities to get involved in.
McKale - 05/19/2020
It seems that Stevenson University is a small but very comfortable place to be at. Everyone seems to be very nice and willing to help if needed and there appears to be different places to go around the campus. There are a lot of food places close to the school, so you should never be hungry.
Michele - 05/18/2020
Stevenson provides the best program for Medical Laboratory Science in Maryland, which is one of the main reasons I choose the school. I love the academics and the opportunities that are made available. The only problem I have with the university is how they lack resources for students in trouble. If there is a personal problem, mentally or physically, the university lacks resources. Concerns are met with little guidance or support. Other than that, Stevenson has an amazing environment and I would not change where I choose to attend college.
Corie - 05/18/2020
I love the university! Extra curricular activities could improve. However, if there’s enough people who want something, the university is more than flexible. Academic Achievement is King here. Everyone learns and the environment is more than welcoming.
Kaelyn - 04/30/2020
Stevenson is a wonderful small school that allows you to get one on one time with your professors any time during the week. The only thing I wish is that there was more on campus activities that allow students to get to know each other. Overall, I would recommend people check it out!
Kaiyanna - 04/30/2020
The school is very good academically. It is not a party school but you can definitely be occupied if you get yourself involved with other activities like clubs, sports, and festivities. The food is not the best. It is a hit or miss. However, there are a lot of other options outside of campus like restaurants and sub shops. At far is my education, it has helped me better as a person mentally, socially, and physically.
Kiana - 12/19/2019
I think Stevenson is very welcoming and warm place to attend and I’m excited to be going there for college. Everyone is really positive and they offer a lot of assistance and resources for anything you need or may need to ask. All the classes are close by and there are shuttle buses that run for students to take to get to the other campus for science and nursing.
Savannah - 07/08/2019
Stevenson is a great school, but very expensive. Also very pestering about getting money donated from alumni. The professors are great, very knowledgeable and encourage critical thinking. Lots of career support as well via Career Services, as well as some good benefits for Alumni.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Stevenson University is 60%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Hello seventeen year old John, you are about to start the most important semester of high school; junior year. This is where you need to start truly finding yourself, and what your interests are. You will start applying for colleges, financial aid, many scholarships, and possibly even making a decision on where you want to go, and what you want to study.
What you need to know right now however is that you need to make sure you are passionate about what you want to study, and love what you do. Start trying out new things, join new clubs, explore new possibilities. You never know what you will end up liking, and the more diverse you are, the better you will look to colleges, and scholarship opportunities.
Another tip I want to give you, is if you plan to go to community college first, make sure the credits you take will transfer to the university you plan to attend after community college, don’t waste money on credits that will not transfer.
Good luck, and enjoy your last two years of high school, and keep working hard in college; it will pay off in the end.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about my school is the quality of food. I strongly feel that more fiber enriched, whole grain, and overall wholesome foods are needed to prevent disease and sickness.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who is more interested in a bigger university or a "party school" probably will not like the college as much. Villa Julie (AKA Stevenson University) is a small school, but they make up for it with the atmosphere.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The dorms at my school are new and very nice. The education department is wonderful. They expect alot out of you, but you will be well prepared for the future.
My school is best known for its bachelor in science programs. The programs are amazing and teach you everything you need to know to get out into the real world and have very successful job. It is also known for the high success rate of graduating students.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
As a commuter I cannot speak on dorm life and campus life, but there's something for everyone at Stevenson. Stevenson University is a "dry" campus and there aren't too many places to drink around Owings Mills, so you usually have to make your own fun. No matter, you can see people lounging about and diggin' the scene on the Owings Mills campus at the dorms. Basketball, volleyball, water gun fights...the only limit is your imagination.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
The stereotype about Stevenson University students fall into three categories; jocks, rich kids, or art kids. Stevenson University has a robust sports program with an insanely good D3 Lacrosse team. Stevenson University also has a Film and Theatre program, which is a major attraction to kids who ride fixed-gear bicycles and wear scarves. Lastly, the tuition for Stevenson University is rather pricey, so many get the impression that if you go to Stevenson you come from a family of means. If Montgomery County, Annapolis and the 83 Corridor mean anything to you, then you know what I'm talking about. However, many students at Stevenson University are very relaxed and laid back and there aren't many "cliques" at the school. It's college after all. Hang out with who you want!
The academics at Stevenson University are well...wonderful. Many teachers knew me by first name, only because I liked them so much I took their course the following year. My favorite class had to be Creative Writing Poetry with Katherine McCord. Writing is my thing, and in Poetry all we did was (wait for it) write poems and discuss them. The caliber of students you meet at Stevenson is astounding. If you're into Philosophy, Theater, Rhetoric or even basket weaving, there's someone at Stevenson you could talk to. Stevenson University's business model is based around "designing your career", and they supplement that with Career Services and courses that get you in the "professional" mind state. But, many instructors at Stevenson University cherish knowledge for the sake of knowledge and encourage students to learn as much as they can. Though one of the smallest departments, the English department at Stevenson University is comprised of some of the smartest people I've ever met. Dr. Tamer, Dr. Brown, Dr. Marshall and Dr. Van Aken are only a few of the instructors I've had contact with at Stevenson University, and all have left a lasting impression. How many instructors do you know had you read Fight Club and American Psycho?
My overall opinion of Stevenson University is a good one. As a transfer student the first day of class I felt like I was being challenged, and my instructors actually knew what they were teaching. Nine times out of ten my instructors held doctorates in their field, and the ones who didn't were just as knowledgeable. With very small classes (my Spanish class Junior year had seven people or so) the one on one time you can have with an instructor is virtually limitless. The Greenspring campus is beautiful and its design is very open; a park comes to mind when walking through the campus. The Owings Mills campus is new and fresh, and the Business school is positively luxurious with polished wood and that new Library smell. Computer labs (both Mac and PC) can service your electronic needs, a wonderful Library at the Greenspring campus, and a general feeling of academia await those who seek education at Stevenson University.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
99% of students attending Stevenson University receive some sort of financial aid.
35% were awarded federal grants.64%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
