What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Choosing a college is a very important step, not only for the student but also the parents. It is important for students to include their parents on the college search, and equally important for the parent to allow their child to make the ultimate decision. The most important things to consider is location, cost, and degrees offered. Do your research on the internet, you will be surprised how much information is given on the university's websites. Once you narrow it down to a few universities schedule campus visits. You will be able to tour the schools and learn about the programs you are interested in. If you have a friend or family member that currently attends the university stay with them for a few days to experience the entire enviroment. Once arriving to school in the fall join a campus organization. This will help you find a place of belonging on a big campus and keep you involved in activities so that you do not sit around and miss home. Keep a good balance of play and work and it will be the best time of your life.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Tennessee Tech stole my heart as soon as I visited the campus. The education that this school offers is something that cannot be described accurately only using words. I have dreamed to do something in the medical field such as being a pharmacist, and Tennessee Tech absolutely has the best Pre-Professional program around. Pharmacy schools love TTU students because they are always well-prepared for the challenges faced in graduate programs like Medical School and Pharmacy School. The campus is good-sized but not too small. I love everything about this school.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The greatest thing about Tennessee Tech is the tight-knit community feel. Whenever you have a problem, there are at least 20 people around you that can help or at least offer a smile to brighten your day. When tradgedy strikes, students, faculty and alumni unite to overcome it, whether it be to support a student with cancer or a soldier who died in the line of duty. The faculty is always reachable, and you can set up a meeting with the deans as easily as you could your math teacher.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
The nursing path at Tennessee Tech University is a very grueling career choice to make. I would have loved to know just what that statement entailed, because just choosing the students that have a 4.0 GPA is a very silly choice to make by this college. I would have possibly chosen some other major.
