We have a good student body but for the most part I only know people in Greek community. However I think just about any person can find a group they feel like they belong to.

-with 60,000 students there is a niche for any kind of person -might be overwhelming to try and find it but at least you have the confidence of knowing it exists

One word - Diverse. Very cliche, but true. People don't truly enjoy or appreciate the diversity at UT until a couple years into college. I know I didn't care one way or another at first, but I've come to love the diverse nature of UT.

I dont know how anyone can feel out of place here because there are so many cultures here intermixing.

I do no think any type of student could feel out of place here socially. There are so many student groups here that there is bound to be one for everyone. In class, people wear a variety of things. People in fraternities and sororities wear their shirts a lot. Other people wear boots and jeans a lot. In the business school, it is very common to see people in a suit because they might have an interview or presentation that day. Most people here are from Texas coming from very diverse financial backgrounds. A lot of people are politically active with most active groups seeming to be left.

The student body is pretty diverse.

No one could possibly feel left out at UT - it is very diverse, warm, and welcoming. Different types of students interact all the time, be it at a party or two different organizations hosting a party together.

The students are all very different and for the most part open minded and willing to meet new people.

If you ask people where they are from, most people say Dallas or Houston. The school can be segregated by race. Even greek life has 5 councils dedicated to the different races and ethnicities. But, I think that many organizations are trying to integrate campus more and promote diversity within UT.
