Honestly the on campus housing and Brown dining could be much better (and much more affordable) but other than that it's and amazing school if you have motivation and use the resources available. A lot of people don't use the academic resources available but they are amazing.

The University of Minnesota Crookston is a wonderful school, with great teachers a faculty. The classes are small which is fantastic, and the campus is beautiful. There are plenty of extra curricular activities and clubs to join in on, and everybody is very friendly. I really enjoy going to school here!

The University of Minnesota-Crookston, is a great school, wonderful, stuff. it is a school with a big reputable name and grinding mentality of a new small school. it also has a variety of online classes that will make it easy for you to graduate in time with a very competitive tuition that encourages students to take more classes. if you are taking more than 13credits than you will only have to pay for the first 13 credits.

I absolutely love it! The best part is the small classroom sizes! The dorm rooms are clean, comfortable and a good size altogether! The only disappointing thing is that there are no nearby shopping malls or food courts, which can be a good thing! The campus stays true to its word! Small campus. Big degree.

I absolutely love it there. I have only visited and it has been my dream college since I was little. I can't believe that my dream is coming true fall of 2018. I plan on going to major in Animal Sciences with a pre-veterinary emphasis and a minor in Business Management to start my own Veterinarian Business.

Crookston is an amazing campus with a lot of opportunity and growth on and off the campus. There is always something to do, and there isn't a day that there isn't anything to do. Class sizes are small, and you can get to know your professors and class mates.

It's great for academics and a select few courses, but only if came for the night life you are going to miss out because there is nothing next to do unless you want to go get drunk at the local 'frat' house. If you also come hoping for a liberal crowd you would be very very wrong because 99.9% people are trump people.

I chose UMC because I wanted to be part of a small, close knit community that made you feel welcome. UMC was small alright, but close knit and welcoming not so much. The majority of students were gone most weekends. So most of the time the campus was very quiet with not much to do. The town is small and does not offer any off campus options either. The food on campus was not nutritious or tasty and it rarely involved fresh produce. If you live on campus, you have no choice to opt out of a meal plan either. I chose the smallest plan but ended up wasting a good chunk of money on food I never ate. The dorm I lived in was nice and I loved the small class sizes and valued the education that I received. However, those were the only highlights from my time at UMC. I am transferring next year and with high hopes for a much more, well rounded, and fulfilling experience.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Take your time, find out what you want to do and pursue it with a passion. Don't get discouraged by anything or anyone that gets in your way. If things get difficult along the way, just remember it is worth the struggles to do what you want to do and anything worth doing is going to take hard work and dedication to achieve. Seek the help of classmates, instructors, parents, friends, advisors, and anyone else willing to help you along. Disregard anything told to you by those that only have negative things to say about anything you are doing or attempting to accomplish and keep going strong with what you are doing.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I am a fully online student. The most frustrating thing for me is when a professor puts limits on when assignment are open. I understand that deadlines are needed and work should be done by a certain date; but I think assignments should ALL be open ALL semester so if needed we can work ahead. The main reason for doing online courses is for the convenience. If I have a busy week coming up I want to be able to get my work done ahead of time.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Anyone who strives for a great education without such a great tuition bill, and I don't know anyone who wouldn't want that.... Anyone who doesn't mind a small town setting or the winter weather...
Anyone that is driven to make themselves better and to help the community at large. People who have the dedication and committment to do what is necessary to excell in the classroom to make themselves competitive on the job market.
As i mentioned in the first question this is my first semester here so I dont really know exactly but I do know that they have a very good agriculture program and landscaping programs here.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The things that I brag about the most when I tell me friends about my school, The University of Minnesota Crookston, is the quality of the education that I am receiving here. I am currently majoring in Equine Science and Agricultural Business and I must say that I could not be more satisfied with the high quality of education! Classes are unbelievably hands on, starting your freshman year! The campus is small and instructors are there to help and encourage you every step of the way. The University of Minnesota, Crookston is definitely worth looking into for all students.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
I picked the University of Minnesota Crookston Online campus degree program because of the various awards it has won over the past 5 years for being an online school for the midwest. for example for the sixth consecutive Year, U of M, Crookston named "A Best in the Midwest" College by The Princeton Review
Professors at UMC are knolwedgeable and approachable. They are more than willing to help any student with a question, class related or not.
A great thing about UMC is that many classes and academic areas provide hands-on learning and real life situation learning. Our education is geared towards real world learning and applying what we have learned in the classroom to our future careers. All students are required to complete an internship before appyling for graduation. Internships are one of the best ways to gain experience that employers want from their employees.
This school is absolutley wonderful! The one common factor that most studnets give for coming here is because of its small size. Teachers here know your name and you know a lot of people walking from class to class. People are always saying hi to someone they know in the halls.
UMC has the students education in mind. They are focused on students learning before anything else which is the main reason of attending a post-secondary education institution.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
The stereotype of the students at our campus has a couple categories: Hicks, Horse Girls, Athletes, Internationals. Like most stereotypes... they fall apart once you get to know people. Here at UMC you can quickly see that people are not always what they appear to be at a glance. Many of the students here enjoy hunting, study abroad to gain an international perspective and participate on intramural and intercollegiate athletic teams.
