Valdosta screams home to me due to its environment. I am engaged by the activities that are student led. I have a higher chance of interacting with new people and becoming a new person.

Overall Rating: 2.8/5 As a sophomore at Valdosta State University, living in Centennial Hall has been a mixed experience. One of the most significant challenges has been the limited availability of tutors for various majors. This lack of academic support makes it difficult to excel in more challenging courses, especially when additional help is necessary. The quality of teaching has also been a point of concern. Many professors seem unprepared or struggle to effectively communicate the material. This has made it hard to stay engaged and fully grasp the content. Additionally, it often feels like the majority of the faculty don't genuinely care about the students' success, which can be discouraging. While there are some positives about the campus and its community, these issues have significantly impacted my overall experience, leading me to rate it a 2.8 out of 5.

Valdosta State University has left a significant impression on me through its supportive and dynamic learning environment. From the moment I started my journey here, I was struck by the university's commitment to student success and its focus on fostering a strong sense of community. The faculty and staff are genuinely invested in our growth, providing both academic support and personal mentorship. The campus itself is inviting and vibrant, offering a range of resources that enhance the student experience. The diverse array of extracurricular activities and organizations ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to develop new skills, engage in community service, or simply enjoy college life to its fullest. One of the standout features of Valdosta State is its dedication to hands-on learning and real-world experience. The opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings has been invaluable in my academic journey. The connections made through internships and collaborative projects have enriched my education and prepared me for future challenges. Additionally, the university's focus on mental health and well-being is commendable. The availability of counseling services and wellness programs reflects a genuine concern for the holistic development of students. Overall, Valdosta State University has exceeded my expectations. It’s a place where academic rigor meets personal support, and where every student is encouraged to thrive both intellectually and personally. My experience here has been both fulfilling and inspiring, and I feel well-prepared for the next steps in my academic and professional journey.

I was drawn to Valdosta because of the beautiful campus honestly. It really does look like the pictures, but I've fallen in love with the small-town vibe. I have had some excellent teachers and some fine teachers, and the ones I have had monumental roadblocks with I was able to take to high levels in order to resolve it. Overall, a solid school.

A perfectly fine school, VSU's unique setup for Music Ed works for some but not everyone. There has been significant turnover in the faculty of the school of music in the past 10 years. That does lead to some challenges, though it still is a solid, if small community. The other faculty provide some fascinating insight, whether that's through Genealogy or Music in Film.

When I visited Valdosta I loved it. The community was very inclusive. I felt as if I belonged. I loved how you could walk to every but they also offer a shuttle. I see myself there. The facilities were fairly clean, I did not see any trash anywhere. Overall I would say Valdosta State is a wonderful place to visit.

Valdosta State University is an amazing renowned university located in Valdosta Georgia. It is home to the Blazers and offers a variety of different majors to choose from. Valdosta is known as the school of the arts so we take the arts very seriously here. Also, the teachers here are very understanding and receptive to every one of their students. Office hours are always certified within the syllabus at the beginning of each semester for any guided questions. Plus the library offers free tutoring services to students who may be struggling in any area of their studies. Last but not least the campus is really huge and has a nice amount of students in attendance, the campus is so beautiful and filled with palm trees everywhere. That is why I view Valdosta State University as an amazing 4-year college to further your educational goals and ambitions.

I love Valdosta State University; it feels like my second home literally. The fact that it is only one hour away from my family, I don't mind leaving and visiting my family every other weekend. The days go by so fast at Valdosta which makes college life even better. I went on a campus visit last year to Valdosta and I automatically knew that Valdosta was the place for me. The campus isn't all that big and that is what I love about it the most, because I am introverted most of the time.

I love it and would invite others to attend. The campus life is great and there are always things to do. The football and basketball games are very engaging. The staff and student body are friendly and very helpful. There are great facilities for self-studies and if you need tutoring it is easy to find help.

Valdosta State is good school. Housing could be updated as it’s a little old. There’s no much to do in the city but the school is decent. I wish there were more things to around the school. Wit that being said VSU offers several clubs and organizations for a student to join. The biggest event that really helps is The Happening!

It's the only college in a smaller, military town. One of the biggest things for students to do after class was go to the bars because the "strip" was less than a mile away. Most students participated in greek life and the entire town showed up for football.

I think that they have done a good job in trying to keep the coronavirus crisis in control considering that there has been ups and downs about switching classes to online completely. The professors have are doing an amazing job on keeping students in class weather it be having to do some online and some in class.

Like every college VSU has its pros and cons but overall, there are - 1) great academics (If you are willing and able to work hard, you will succeed.) 2) The campus is unique and beautiful. (Any misuse or mess is from student use.) 3) Proffessors are always ready to help if you are genuine. The campus can be messy sometimes, food is average and dorms are tiny with mold complaints and slow maintenance. These are not large issues but they are something TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN APPLYING.

Due to weak curriculum in this covid economy, this is not the right university to attend. I would not risk it. Also, there are new covid cases everyday. Take this seriously. For this economy, either go to big schools or go to Ga State for a good high pay job, Location matters since Ga state is in Atlanta.
