I am in my second year of college and have accomplished alot since graduating high school, however, there are some things I wish I had done as a senior. As a high school senior, I would have definitely taken advanced placement courses to better prepare myself for college. In my first semester of college, I struggled a little in writing essays in English Composition. I overcame that obstacle in speaking to my professor on how to improve my concept of writing and successfully completed the class. Another advice I wish I had given myself is saving money. During my senior year I consistently spent money on senior activities including prom without thinking twice. Saving money is one advice I should have taken into consideration and now all I can afford for gas is ten dollars a week. I am an ambitious student and I can get through hard economic times in pursuing my education. This wonderful scholarship will help me greatly in completing my bachelor's degree.

I would advise myself to look into what was available as far as schlorships and decided what i was going to take once i entered college. In doing that i would not waste any time and and would not have to worry about how i was going to pay for classes.
Mary
Mary, this is a pivotal moment in your life. There is no turning back. Every decision you make will affect the rest of your life, so choose wisely. Choose wisely what career path you wish to take, what schools you wish to attend, and even who your friends will be. Whatever you choose, don't do it for the money. Follow your heart, do what you're passionate about and success will follow. Don't ever be too proud to take advise from those who have been in your shoes, and remember, a dream without a plan is just that- a dream. But don't stop dreaming. Just remember to wake up, and make it happen.
Crystal
Crystal, I would like to point out certain essential points you should know before entering college. Be sure to take precautions in regards to who you decide to befriend. Even though college is designed to provide an education for students, many individuals seek to engage in activities that may not be so studious. Remember, ?tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are.? Also, you are now an adult and, therefore, should act and think as one. The decisions you make will mold and sculpt your future, so by no means allow yourself to be your own worst enemy. This is your chance to excel in your studies, challenge your mind, develop new interests, and make all of your most desired aspirations tangible and within reach. Be steadfast in your pursuit towards your goals because if you won't step up to the plate, someone else surely will. Life is a dog-eat-dog world and if you are not fighting against the tide, you are destined to crash with the current. Even when you may feel overwhelmed with work, know that you are battling for the most beautiful cause: your education, your future life.

I would tell myself to put the television and friends aside because what you do here will effect your future drastically. I would stress to myself that studying is a key factor for success and it wouldnt hurt to join a club or two or maybe even do volunteer work because it will pay off for good scholarships. I would also tell myself that the SAT and ACT do count as a big part to earning scholarships. I took the SAT & ACT but did not pass and I missed out on Bright Futures and that was something I could have avoided. Lastly I would tell myself to take the opportunity I have in front of me and take college courses while in high school. This one of the main things I regret not taking college classes while in high school. I would also add that the school pays for those classes while your in high school and in the end it will benefit you on completeing your degree early.

First of all, I would tell myself to focus, focus, focus. As a high school senior, I was more concerned with getting out of high school than continuing my education in college. I, as most high school seniors do, became lazy and unmotivated. Being in college has helped me straighten out my priorities, discover a major, and mature to a more self-motivated, dedicated student. Second, I would have told my self to not procrastinate when it came to applying for scholarships. My first year of college, I worked full-time and was a part-time student. In the beginning of the spring semester of 2009, I quit my job and became a full-time student. I regret not doing that from day one. I believe that if I was receiving money from scholarships, I would have been able to focus on school earlier in my college career, and ultimately, graduate college sooner. Lastly, I would tell my high school senior self to get more involved in college. I would advise myself to join a few clubs at college. I think developing teamwork and leadership skills is important.

I would tell my self to take my high school classes more seriously, because that is going to follow you for the rest of your life. I would also mention that the years go by fast so buckle down now and you can have all the fun you want later.

If I was given the chance to go back in time and talk to myself when I was a high school senior, there would be several things that I would have to say. The first thing that I would say is "don't be so scared". Throughout high school, I always felt that teachers were trying to make college look like the boogeyman. When I actually did get to college, I realized that it was really not so different from high school. Besides the fact that professors appear to care less about their students' success and there are more mature people around, college is just about as "scary" as high school as. I would also tell my high school senior self that college really will allow me to explore myself and what I want out of my future. I always felt that teachers in high school had to say this to make college sound like a "cool" experience, but in reality it was true. College has allowed me to learn more about what I want out of life and it has also led me to the career choice that I plan to pursue.
