I attend Walla Walla's satellite campus in Portland, OR for their nursing program. Everyone I spoke with—students, faculty, and staff—was open-minded, kind, and truly passionate about nursing and helping their community. The supportive environment stood out to me, and I could see how much they care about both their patients and each other. I know that being part of this program will not only help me grow as a nurse but also as a person, surrounded by people who share my values of compassion and service.

I am actually an Aviation Management major for the record. The school is fine. It is small and has the typical small school quirks because of that fact. But the professors and very personable and relatable in most cases. Class sized are small which can be nice. It is more conservative which isn't always ideal. I believe the biggest selling point is the Aviation program. The University offers two bachelors degrees, one associates and a minor in aviation which is pretty unique. It is the only reason I will complete my college career here.

When it comes to my school there are many pros and cons. I really appreciate the school environment. The student body is very open-minded and relaxed. The school focuses on spiritual and mental health and provides many opportunities for the students to bond in various fun activities. The only thing during my time as a student here that has bothered me is their cafeteria food, and their meal plans. However, compared to the great academics and solid community, it is totally worth it.

I personally love WWU. It's a great environment for social activities and learning. I feel comfortable with all my professors and enjoy my classes. It is a more conservative university but we still know how to have fun. The university really makes me feel at home

I think it’s a really good school, it is close knit and very friendly students/staff. The religious aspect of the school does not require you to be religious but the religion classes are very educational. Overall I enjoy being here in between the Blue Mountains of Washington state.

A very well-rounded school that offers a variety of numerous opportunities to the students. A very well equipped and friendly administration ready to help whenever the help is needed. Professors are available and always work with the students schedule as much as they can. I can just say that though it may seem it's a conservative institution there are many doors open to venture out and seek new knowledge and gain new experiences while at Walla Walla University.

Don't come here. The school has stolen several thousand between the caf, dorm, and the raid the did on my apartment. They have no problem with denying a degree to someone they don't want as alumni even if that student just needs to complete their senior project to be done. Literally less than two months away from graduation and they can be like "nope, no degree for you."

Walla Walla has a great fellowship community and a great student body who are always at work to insure the best comes out of the campus. I visited there for their March U-days and had awesome time getting to meet new people and being able to see what their Theology department was like was an amazing experience.

Walla Walla University is a hospitable university for students. I am taking my nursing classes at their extension at Portland. The faculty and staffs are friendly and approachable. The food that is offered in the dorm every Monday evening is delicious. Activities for students are available.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell myself to take advantage of every possible moment and experience that could enrich my life for the best. Not that I have regrets now, but lifes path has many intersections and sometimes I need to get off the path that I have been so comfortable with and try a new one. It could be better or worse but I won't know until I try.
My school is best known for preparing students for careers in the medical field and engineering. It's a christian college, so while its academically strong, it also offers a spiritually-rich atmosphere.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The meal plan. Last year we were able to eat whenever we wanted (when the cafeteria) was open. This year, however, we have to eat at least 6 meals a week in the cafe and we have to pay $100 more than last year for a meal plan that the majority of the students cannot stand.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I appreciate the spiritual opportunities and experiences the campus has to offer such as mission work and vespers programs. The teachers are very understanding and supportive. The campus also offers a good teacher-student ratio. I like that it isn't in a large city but still has the necessary things close by. It is a nice size, not being to small but not overcrowded either. There are also a nice variety of things to do around and also as part of the school.

Walla Walla University has a warm feel when you are on campus. The professors expect a lot out of their students, but are very approachable and work one on one with the students all the time. There is an exceptional amount of team work in the classes. No one ever studies alone. Considering it is a Christian university, it is very liberal. It fits me like a glove. I know when I leave here I will be given the proper tools to be very successful in my career and personal life.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
This campus spiritual life is on fire, completly God centered. The academics at Walla Walla are spactacular-- not to mention the professors are always there to help-- No one wants you to fail-- everyone wants you to succeed.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
ASWWU (Associated Students of Walla Walla University) puts on awesome events, such as Battle of the Bands and Barn Party. Those are the most popular things on campus, I guess.
Walla Walla University is a really good school, in my opinion. There are about 1,900 students, as far as I know, which is a good number. You can know a lot of people, and recognize most of the faces you see every day, but you always see a person you've never noticed before. The most complained about thing is CommUnity credits. You're required to go to weekly assembly 8 out of 11 weeks each quarter, and people hate it for some reason.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
