In my experience I do not feel that CSU is a diverse school when it comes to looking at race and ethnicity. While everyone is diverse in their own way, the majority of the students are white. Most students wear jeans and sweatshirts to class and in the spring students will wear jeans and t-shirts or skirts and shorts. I don't feel like I need to dress up when I am going to class, which is nice that I can wear sweat pants and not feel out of place. The campus is even as far as politics are concerned. There are two strong active political groups on campus and each has their voice heard. I do feel students are politically aware. Not everyone will be, but I feel the majority of students know what is going on, who is running, and what each candidate is saying.

I wouldn't say theres like a equal split of races but theres definitly a mixture of people and it creates a good atmosphere. Everyone's so friendly, i don't ever feel threated or worried for my safety anywhere on campus.
There;s a bunch of people from all over colorado, some from kansas, lots from chicago and cali but everyone finds people that they can get along with.

I don't really have an experience with groups on campus. I did see a workshop put on by LGBT which was really interesting. I learned a lot especially about myself! I don't think anyone would feel out of place at CSU. there are so many opportunities for people to get invoved and you need something like 5 people to start an organization, so if there was something someone felt was missing, they could start it. Most students are from instate. Mostly business students are the only ones that talk about how much they'll learn.. them and construction management.

There are a lot of groups on campus, and I personally am not too thrilled about them being on the plaza campaigning all the time for their cause. Most of the time I don't mind, but the religous folks that ask about "Are you going to Heaven when you die" or the young democrats inflatable donkey or the abortion pictures are obnoxious.

I would say students generally stick to their group of friends, and it is rare that people really branch out. There are events on campus, and organizations that try to focus on bringing diversity together, but I do not think they are very successful. Students dress pretty casually on campus, unless they are involved with organizations or work on campus.

I feel like at this school, if you have the motivation and ideas to make a contribution, there are many ways you can go about doing that. Students are pretty understanding as well, and in reality, I feel like there is a lot of equality here among peers. It does have a more conservative feel, so organizations like LGBT or racial diversity groups don't necessarily get all that much attention. But I don't really hear a lot of racial remarks and negative statements toward gay people, so perhaps it is more a sign that people here follow the "live and let live" philosophy. Religion is a different story though. We often get preachers on campus in the plaza that catch a lot of attention.

Most students wear 'regular clothes' to class. By this I mean that I have seen people wear jeans, t-shirt, workout gear, hats, pajamas, khakis, dress slacks, overalls, dresses, coats, sweaters, and tank tops. There are many different styles also, from comfortable, to hip-hop, to the most popular, to goth, to very professional. I think that anyone could feel comfortable wearing whatever they would like.

Coming from such a small town, CSU seems diverse to me. In high school, everyone was the same. Up here, people are not afraid to be who they are. I had never met someone who considered him/herself a "hippie" before CSU. I know that many people say CSU is not diverse in terms of race, and that's true, but we still have diversity in the likes, qualities, and activities of students.

Most students wear either jeans and t-shirts/sweatshirts to class or baggy sweats and a hoodie. From whati have heard, most CSU students are from Colorado or the Springs, Denver, or from around Ft. Collins. I have met very few students that are out of state. Ofcourse people cant wait to graduate and they talk about how much money they will make one day, thats most likely why they are attending college in the first place.
