Colorado State University-Fort Collins Top Questions

Describe the students at Colorado State University-Fort Collins.

Allison

Most students I've met are very open and accepting to all people. Most students dress casually to class, although there are some girls who trot around in stilettos and a mini skirt all day. The evangelical Christian group is pretty active on campus and usually provide afternoon entertainment in the LSC Plaza with some evangelist telling everyone they are going to go to hell if they don't get saved. During these events, about 1/5 of the students listening are members of the evangelical group and the rest are curious bystanders or active opponents. There is a good number of international students of different races, there are more females than males...There are the crazy partiers and the academic students...pretty much everyone can find a place to fit in.

i have not been able to find very many students here as CSU that I have much in common with. It has been quite a culture shock being raised in private school all my life. Also, the food at the dining halls is terrible, and the hours available for cafeteria service are not good.

Iris

CSU is a very diverse school that is well-cultured. In the majority of my classes there are students from around the world, and some dorms are even goaled at being international. In my classes all of the different cultures combine, and we learn for each other. For example in my SOC253 class there is a student from the Middle East, and he is able to bring in another perspective of the Criminal Justice system that we would of otherwise not known.

Torry

Very diverse, although most people would say we're in "vanilla country."

Torry

I think it sucks that the student body is not more diverse (racially etc.) I wish we had more of each group represented on campus to make everyone feel more belonging.

Emily

Sorority girls stick out the most at CSU when it comes to clothes and accessories. They like to put on a "fake image" and present themselves as rich and stuck up. They wear lettered shirts with their sorority name on it and carry designer handbags and purses. Athletes tend to wear their sweatsuit outfits to class or more casual clothes. Most other students dress normal with jeans and a t-shirt. Also, a lot of students wear CSU logo clothes.

Andy

This campus isn't very diverse.

molly

I think there is good diversity among CSU's Studen Body but I would like to see more. I think most students don't try to impress many people when going to school. I would say jeans and sweats are most popular.

Jacob

Most of the student body I have interacted with have the same background. I think that veterans of the armed forces and minorities would feel out of place.

Paige

Since I have been at CSU I can see that there is no discrimination on campus. Everyone is super nice to everyone else and it creates such a good learning environment. Most students when they attend class are in everyday, casual clothes. From my experience, most of the students are from Colorado. It is kind of a bummer to not know anyone when you first come out here but it forces you to make new friends!
