Students will slam doors in your face if you knock on their dorm room. There are no sports teams. I don't consider this school to have a basketball team becuase no one shows up to their games.

Nothing to do - DC is a city that closes very early. If there are guest speakers to be seen at GW, they are not open access to see. You have to have deep rooted connections to the university. This university is so corrupt its ridiculous.
Sandy
Habiba (2011) and Yasmin (2012), both from other countries, express their shock about GW's Politically active students.

There's a club/org on campus to match any students interests. I'm involved with the campus volunteer EMS group, the Emergency Medical Response Group (EMeRG). We operate an ambulance and respond to medical emergencies on campus. We have good call volume and we're tied in with DC Fire and EMS so we can get additional resources when we need them.
I'm also involved in a fraternity which is awesome. It's a great place to meet people, form strong lifelong bonds, network, and make a foundation for your social calendar. Couldn't recommend it more.

There are so many clubs/organizations on Campus. Students in dorms do not leave their doors open as many people do not know each other. It is not small enough of a campus to do that. I met my closest friends through my fraternity and the people I lived close to my freshman year of college. People party on tuesdays/thursdays/fridays/ and saturdays. Greek life is relatively big, but it is gradually gaining popularity year by year. Off campus, they're plenty of places to eat/sight see/ and relax.
Michael
Most popular social life is to join a sorority or fraternity. YOu get a group of friends and always have something to do. definitely worth it.
Alex
I would like to have more emphasis on entire school wide events. Our school is small enough to have these events. For example better artists at fall fest and spring fling
Charlie
There are two social scenes at GW: the long island, Jewish, scene that revolves around clubbing and the Greek scene of bars and formals. I am in a fraternity and I wouldn't have it any other way. I really like the guys that I've met through it and I definitely enjoy the parties.
Steve
Greek life is becoming increasingly popular each year and is about 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students. Most students either go to a bar or to a club on the weekends as house parties are basically non-existent.

very active - large bar scene
