Political organizations are popular as are athletic teams. Social life revolves heavily around clubs and bars withing DC. Greek life is 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the school and is a very large part of social life.

As far as the social scene goes, it is split up into 3 catergoires. Clubs, Bars and getting stoned in your room. Most NJ/NY go to clubs, fraternity guys hit the bars and girls are split amongst these two places. The best part of GW is its Greek Scene. While it is only 20 percent, leaders within the university are all greek and greeks have the most fun at GW.

GW sponsored social activities are second rate, period. You have to be creative and adventurous to have a good time here without just staying in aand playing beer pong.

Greek life is about 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} and growing, there is major participation in CR and CDs and there is every type of club imaginable. The social life is expensive, and includes going out because there really isnt a place to have a house party or large social gathering.

Greek life is growing. Lots of on-campus political organizations.

There are two social scenes on GW campus. People who go to night clubs and act like celebrities and people who are down to earth and go to bars (generally associated with greek life)

For me, a good part of social life was being part of a fraternity. It's one of those atmospheres that is considered "fake greek life." And it is. We don't have parties in the houses, rather at bars and clubs like all others. We do great philanthropy events though, and take being part of campus life very seriously. It's always an issue for fraternities here on campus that they might get kicked off. Having a fraternity in the DC area is risky and doesn't allow fraternities to do the normal greek things they want to do.

Fraternities and Sororities are very popular, but clubbing and bar-hopping are the most popular. Sometimes people will go to DC area sports teams' games but overall people go to bars and clubs. People party a lot at GW, Thursdays are the biggest night to go out. Saturday nights there isn't that much to do unless you go to a bar or out to dinner. Sometimes there are sports events or theater shows that are fun to go to. Fraternities and Sororities are very involved on campus and do a lot of community service and are involved in student government.

Like I said earlier, Greek Life is amazing. It is the biggest and most fun part of my life at school.

Im in Sigma Kappa and it has been the best thing that has happened to me. I have met so many new people and it has given me many new and different opportunities to get active at GW.
