Greek Life isn't a huge percentage of campus, but the most active students tend to be Greek. Greeks hold lots of events on and off campus and drive the social life. The conduct tons of fun philanthropy events on campus and have a large visibility. They have tons of their own traditions for the fall and spring and provide the most traditional college experience (drinking, formals, house parties, sports, rush, skits, ets). Basketball games are definitely the most well attended, but I've been known to head to a soccer game on our Mt. Vernon campus from time to time on a nice fall afternoon. I also go to volleyball games because I know the girls and they're close by. The sports teams kind of act like a fraternity or sorority themselves. There's a whole sports scene of student-athletes with their own social network, traditions, and drama. I think other students really get into clubs and networks of friends they made freshmen year.

gw has a great social life. Greek life is fantastic here and it makes a big school small.

The athletic events at GW are hit or miss, depending on how well the men's basketball team is doing that year. Greek life has become more popular, and there are many activities and events that are put on by the houses on campus. People party Thursday, Friday, Saturday and will go out to the bars on near campus on Tuesday.

Fraternities and sororities are popular on campus, but defintiely not the only forms of activities at GWU. I took advantage of being in a fraternity, and it has opened me up to a lot of different people and further opportunities at the school.. Athletics could be a lot better

Greek life is rapidly growing. Parties are easy to find in georgetown or adams morgan. we usually party tuesday, thursday, friday and saturday

College Democrats and College Republicans are the best known and most joined organizations on campus. We have the largest College Democrats in the nation, and the #1 ranked College Republicans, so we literally have the biggest and the best. Greek life makes up about 20{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body, so it's there if you want it and not if you don't. Greek life at GW is unique however. Our greek organizations make sure, through philanthropy events and association with other organizations, to contribute a positive role to the campus. There is so much great theater, museums, and monuments throughout DC, as well as cool jazz clubs and student-run events, that you can always find something to do on a saturday night without drinking.
