One of the standout features of GSU is its vibrant campus life. From the renowned Tiger Marching Band to a plethora of student organizations, there's always something happening on campus that fosters a strong sense of community and school spirit.
Academically, GSU provides a wide range of programs and has dedicated faculty who are committed to student success. My experience at Grambling was definitely a new one to say the least. I enjoyed part of it but also did not enjoy some of the things. The athletes I played with were awesome and the things we did outside of the sport were also fun. The academics department was not too great but they got the job done I guess. Overall it wasnt too bad.

Grambling state university is a historic Hbcu in Grambling, Louisiana. Founded in 1901. Recognized as a university in 1946. The university was named after a sawmill owner who give a small percentage of his land for the school to be built. A Grambling state is known for its historic band. Once was dawned on the best band in the world. An intellectual college that has a variety of programs for students and including foreign students. Some present safety issue of being on the campus but overall the campus is safe with 24-hour police

Grambling State University is a great hbu that encourages black success. They make you feel like your a somebody. You’re never along .They have a lot of great staff members and professors that help guide you to success.I love attending Grambling State University because they allow me to express and learn about my black history that I never knew about.I recommend Grambling to all my friends and family that are looking to further their education because all the professors take the time out after class to know that you understand and recommend great tutors and other things that can help you.

I am from Oakland, Ca and coming to a town so small it only has a gas station and a subway was a big culture shock. I'm use to being able to just get up and go whether its by bus, bart, a car, or even uber but in Grambling if you don't have a car I suggest you start walking. However I love Grambling and it's the best choice I made. From the amazing black staff helping, the variety of Grambling gear to wear, and the rememberable parties every weekend. Grambling introuduces you to great southern hospitality and a bunch of fresh extracurricular activities. One of my favorite things about Grambling State is their amazing World Fame band. I honestly only attend football games to listen to them play and hopefully I can be apart of it soon. GO TIGERS!

Grambling State University is one of the best HBCU’s there is. Becoming a member of their nursing program would be a dream come true. Students are always lively and full of school spirt. I am looking forward to being apart of the Gramfam by the end of summer.

my overall opinion of Grambling state is that I love the campus the atmosphere is great, people are nice. some of the professors will work with you and really teach you one on one if you have trouble with your work. there isn't a lot of retail stores around Grambling but I feel as if that's what makes us a family. the sports life of Grambling is great everybody is one when it comes to sports . in all honesty I wouldn't choose any other school over mine.
Kailey
Grambling State University genuinely looks in the best interest of the students. If there are problems, the student government association quickly looks to find a solution. Recently, there was a tornado in our sister town, Ruston. The damage was unimaginable, but our entire school was eager to help in any way possible.

Grambling State University is a great school, I love it. The students and staff here are welcoming. Food options can be better, but overall it has been an amazing experience. Throughout my college experience it has been challenging but I've managed to get through with the help from family, friends, and faculty members.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
This is my second semester here at GSU. The college atmosphere here at GSU presents a self assessment test to how dedicated you are to your studies and your future. coming out of high school in New York City, i did not maximize my full potential. i was barely a C student, throughout my high school years i simply coasted through enough just to recieve my diploma. i naively was unaware that what i did in high school would soon greatly affect the next 4-7 years of my life. due to my poor grades, my options of universities was very limited. Grambling State University was the only institution that allowed me to continue my studies, and has allowed me to continue to grow and develope in all aspects of life. i am currently an employee through work study and serve as an associate justice in student government. i am an honor roll student. i am extremely thankful and grateful for the doors that GSU has opened for me and i will continue to push forward and make a life altering path for the betterment of my future! i've gotten exactly what a scholastic institution is supposed to offer.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
My school has a unique sense of family and support for students. Expectations are high and students adhere to those expectations. Grambling as a diverse faculty and student population.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
This school has its advantages and disadvantages as any school does, however I wish I had know how the financial aid process worked, I would have wanted to know how the rules were enforced and also how the professors approach teaching students in all aspects of the teaching process.
My classmates are okay, most of them look at you crazy and laugh when you say something or ask questions about the lesson that the professor is speaking about at the time. They critisize more than they try to help with is bad.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I mention my school to my friends, I dote on the fact that it is an HBCU and that it is well distinguished. I tell my friends how I participate in their well established musical program and how I plan to pledge in a sorority on their campus. I like to brag on their many curriculums and the amount of celebrities that have graduated from or is well fond of Grambling. Most importantly, I inform my friends on how Grambling has had a successful football seasons and how they have made their many fans proud.
Graambling State University is hands down best known for the Football Team and the Marching Band. The Band has performed all over the world, at inargural balls, halftime performances for the NFL, and movies, Grambling's World renoun Band is known all across the world.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person who shouldn't attend this school is someone who grew up in a city-like environment. The area that my school is in, is very country type and coming here from the suburbs or city location will take a while for someone to really adjust here.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
That they are all party animals and very hostile but it actually is not very true. We go to class and do our work just like everyone else. They only look at the very few that we have at our school who cause trouble but rarely
