My opinion on Xavier is how big the campus is and the students have eoungh space for the students and walk and study
Manaii - 12/24/2023
I love my school! I am biased mostly because my major tract is fairly new so we are geared with plenty of attention and support, but so is every department. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone. I hope everyone who researches this school really takes the time to learn its history and mission.

Xavier University of Louisiana values building bonds that will last a life time.
Chhaya - 06/14/2023
I adore my school, while I attribute my success and enjoyment to both the relative ease of my major to the majority of my peers and my high school having done an excellent job of preparing me for the collegiate workload, I find fewer problems with the university than the average student. I feel that I've really found myself at Xavier. From the freedom I am given in schedule selection, to the support system I've found in faculty and other students, I feel that Xavier has helped me to carve out an experience that is uniquely mine in a way I would never want to give up.
Ella - 04/27/2023
The school itself does have some unprofessional moments, but the overall staff is helpful. Other students though tend to form their cliques so it is kind of hard to make friends on campus. There are a lot of events and give aways on campus, but a lot are student-run so the school really does not contribute to that section.

i think that xavier university is a good school to attend for students who want to attend medical school. since advisors throughly prepare premed students for the medical school application process. its also a great institution for african american students as it is an hbcu.
Destiny - 10/07/2021
My opinion of Xavier University of Louisiana is that Xavier is a very good college. I really love not only the history behind Xavier, but also how the professors are very serious about us and our education and about how there is a academic staff that help student to improve their grades also.
Kyle - 01/12/2021
Xavier does not have the quality of students for social gatherings, but overall, academic achievement us superb. There are plenty of resources to be successful on campus and beyond. Safety is a concern and on-campus housing is terrible. Student organizations are not very loyal.
Trinity - 11/21/2020
At first, I was nervous to attend, but now I am glad that I did. Yes no lie Xavier University of Louisiana is a hard school to attend but it is worth it This school will break you down to build you back up and you will see why in the future. It is close to my home and is also an HBCU which I wanted to attend. I love coming here.

This is a great school that will especially prepare you for careers in health sciences and medical school. Even if medical sciences is not your major there are many other degrees offered. The school is located in midtown Louisiana not far from the City Park which is beautiful. It is very easy to get around on the trolley cars. It is small which allows for a close knit community.
Cayla - 04/26/2020
The Xavier University of Louisiana is a historically black university located in New Orleans. The school is known for placing the most African-Americans into the medical field. We are a very close-knit community. There are lots of opportunities to volunteer and be involved in the community.

I attened the university for a pre college residental summer program in 2019. I liked the univeristy very much and I have recently applied to XULA and hopefully I will receive formal admission soon. I look forward to starting my academic career at Xavier!
Gerard - 01/09/2020
After the first year, I feel there is little help in being able to pay for my tuition and the on-campus tools are more suggestive than actual solutions. The courses and professors for my major are helpful and knowledgable in their fields and have regular office hours. They're willing to work with the students in making sure they pass the course or assist in understanding the lesson. The dorms are clean for the most part but can feel drab and isolating, or too open and crowded. St. Mike's feels like a prison and DP is really quiet in the afternoon but super loud at night. Xavier is a fine school if you can afford it but you should look for more options.
Blake - 12/27/2019
My overall opinion of the school, Xavier is a well-rounded school other than some of the food and places we stay Xavier is well put together academically. I know we will be well-rounded when we graduate. The school is hard, but that is any school that challenges you to do your best. We have resources and many people to help us. I feel that coming to Xavier you will find family. It feels like a second home to me and I love it. People and Alumni want you to do your best here and you can feel it. Xavier stands up to its' name of being one of the top HBCUs to produce well-rounded medical officials.
Trinity - 12/23/2019
Xavier is a really good school, but it definitely isn’t for the weak. You really have to buckle down and be on top of your studies but with all the resources it isn’t hard to be successful. The teachers are big helpers and the student life is great. It’s really a fun campus and it’s easy to find your own group of friends but we know how to come together and be lit

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
The advice that I would give myself is to complete as many scholarship applications that I possibly can, no matter how many essays that have to be written. As well as, take advantage of all the information that is given.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Xavier University has a very diverse faculty and staff that are very helpful to students academically and are willing to help you pursue your goal whenever possible.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst part about the school is its location. Xavier is basically in middle of downtown New Orleans. At first it's fun because there's so much to do in this great city. After a while though the city almost becomes annoying. With living in a big city like New Orleans you get big city problems. There's heavy traffic all the time and constant construction everywhere, even on campus. It's not so bad, and for others, Xavier may sound like paradise but for a freshman trying to get used to being independent; there are alot of distractions.
When I meet new classmates they tend to stick to their "clicks" that they've been in since we began school. As the semester progresses my classmates and I begin to bond over common interests (i.e. how bad we thought our last organic chemistry exam was). Then we begin to share notes and form study groups. So overall, it is very easy to relate and socialize with my classmates.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Compared to other schools that I have considered, Xavier University of Louisiana is a private insituition with an acceptable student to teacher ratio. It is very small compared to other universities, such as the University of South Alabama, Auburn University, and the University of Alabama. Comparing my choices, Xavier University of Louisiana is the best choice for my field of study. The university has a pharmacy program that could help me become a successful pharmacist in less than eight years.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is how there are a lot of people attenting the school to pursue the same goal. This creates a big competition within the students, but this gives the students motivation to study hard in order to get where they want.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
The most coveted positions at school are of course the greek societies, and also being a part of SGA (Student Government Association) and being on the royal court.
