I think it’s a great all around school with great people, great clubs, great teachers, staff, and good education.

In a few brief words, since I have been here at UNO for two years now, I've learned several things about what it means to be in college and how hard managing things as a new adult can be. However I feel that coming to a school like UNO has helped me transition from high school better than going somewhere out of state could have prepared me for. There are several clubs you can join that may align with your future career path or some you can be in just as a fun extracurricular. Despite my rough first year, I'm glad it happened here than anywhere else.
Natalia
It is a fun school with a lot of culture, the professors are kind and thoughtful and there are many things to do in the city. There is a lot of diversity and a lot of events throughout the years. You can find many clubs to join like a multicultural club and International Game Developers Association.

The University of New Orleans has been a place of personal growth for me in many ways. Not only has it created a safe environment for me to pursue my academic goals and interests, but it's become a place that I will cherish for days to come. As I graduate high school, I had no direction, no idea what to do with myself, etc. I joined the military right after and unfortunately it did not work out. I came home from book camp smack dab in the middle of what would have been my freshman first semester. Immediately, I jumped into the spring semester as my freshman first semester and was met with overwhelming support and help from not only the staff at UNO, but the students and the facilities they offered. UNO was a place where I found my path and a place where I found myself emotionally, mentally, and physically. I would always tell people that if they don't know what they want to do, just take the first step and the things around you will begin to fall in place. Your path will expose itself to you through time and confidence. Just believe and have hope.

I love uno campus its really great. The teachers are absolutely tremendous they help with everything and they also understand if you are going through some thing. You make really good friends with classmates online. Only because of the pandemic we can’t be more social but other than that everything is totally fine.

its the best school ever we learn a lot we talk to our teachers everyday they make sure our work and classes are perfect they want us tp pass and make it in life and for us to be anything we want to be. The classroom are perfect size so the teacher can talk to everybody and help everyone

It really isn't a bad school and there is plenty to do to get involved. Other than that, the professors are nice and very easy to talk to (even the ones who seem like they aren't). They have many helpful things on campus that can assist students, ranging from tutoring to even a food pantry.

Overall, I enjoy attending the University. I especially enjoy the film program, where I spend the majority of my time in the Performing Arts Center. I have had a good experience so far, and will continue until graduation.
Great experience with professors as well. Very caring.

I like UNO a lot, but it’s really expensive to live in the dorms there. They make you pay an almost $1700 fee just to eat on campus. It’s really dumb to be honest. The dorms are mostly okay. The academics are so so. It’s either a hit or miss with professors.
Elizabeth
For the price of the school, it is a very good school. The academics are sufficient. My department, in particular, is full of expert professors. My professors also have outside connections to the film industry in New Orleans. Networking is everything in the film industry. The on-campus room and board are good. My biggest issues are with the cafeteria food and the lack of environmental-friendly plate/silverware options.

University of New Orleans is a great commute school. Most people who live on campus isn't from the New Orleans area, which is good because you meet a lot of people from all over the world. UNO 's international program is a well known program. Living on campus is too expensive, which is why i'll be moving to an apartment. There are a lot of tutoring options if you're struggling in class. The main sports people support is basketball and maybe a little of volleyball. I'd recommend UNO to anyone who are strictly worried about their education. As a student, on campus or off campus you wont get the best "college life at UNO. There;s not much student involvement as a whole university. There are a lot of organizations you can join though.
Juan
UNO is a community college in disguised as a university. There are practically no social groups. There are small little clubs that have no more than 20 members. It is a school where you just come to receive class and go home. It a waste of 4 years where one does not gain experience in not only social skills but job skills as well. It is an easy bachelor degree on obtains. There are also no festivities where one can participate in. No sports that unites the college. We do have basketball and volleyball but in Louisiana football is the popular sport. Schools such as LSU or Grambling unite the school with a football team.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of New Orleans is 60%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
i would say apply for more outside scholarships because college is expensive.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
My school has a great personality. The campus is easy to get around and the people are fantastic. The students here are much more open minded and accepting than other schools. The professors are also very helpful and easy to talk to.
My academic aspiration consists of acquiring a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans, Earth and Environmental Science, concentrating in Coastal Science. My entire life I have been curious about fishes and their evolution, especially their importance to our livelihood and economy. UNO provided me with understanding of natural resources. I strongly believe Univserity of New Orleans enables me to accomplish my desire, by expanding my knowledge on habitat conservation. I believe that the university will prepare me for my career by developing my knowledge learned in the classroom through application by field research and analysis.
A person that attends this school should be dedicated to succeeding in life. He or she should be willing to make time to study and go to class because the school is not easy. This school is right for people that have long-term goals in their life, such as willingness to obtain a Ph.D or Master's. Those interested in scientific research have a place at this school, as do those wanting to pursue engineering.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
It's a good learning environment. Because it's a comuter school, you would expect that there are no extra activities for students. That's not true! The school and its students make a genuine effort to make everyone feel welcome. There are plenty of different majors for you to choose from, and all of the teachers are experts in thier respective fields, and they do their best to make class enjoyable.
My overall opinion about UNO is that it is a campus where you always see a familiar face and the pro-staff actually care. The professors I have had, have showed that they are willing to work with me because they can see my effort. I am a student leader on campus and that was the best decision for me. I love this campus and the people on it. The diversity on this campus is overwhelming. There are too many clubs to count and they all have a wide variety of people in them. This school is just the right size for me.
