I have learned that my life is more than just going to school and getting an education. College has taught me to see more of the world, it has taught me that I cannot expect the usual anymore. I have to work for myself and by myself to gain what I really want in life. It's valuable because I'm learning not only towards my major, but I'm learning how to live as well.

i have come to love the nature of my profession which is social work and i love the fact that my faculty really cares where we go and for us to be as professional as possible.

The most important lesson that I have gotten out of college is that this is my life and I have to take control. It's no more hand downs or do this and that. It's strictly me on my own and that's what's going to transform me from a boy into a man. I made some stupid and crazy mistakes in my high school days, but I am making it up now in my college days to come. It has been valuable to attend because you learn about life and how we got to be what we are today as a society. I believe learning your history is very important to your success. My career path is Architecture and I want to someday build a house for my mother and future wife. College is the key to helping me achieve my goals in life.

What I gotten at this school is that the school work is hard but there still all the things you get and do here. This college gives you free tutoring on all subject especially in math since this is an engineering college. They also give you avoided of this to join at this college such as fraternity, sorority, math groups, Africa American group, caribou groups, and so much more. Our football team good and our standing are high; in 2009 our overall record was 6-5 and finish as a t-4th. . This school gives you alot to do and the people are nice here too. But this college is not for everyone that wants to purse there a life as an engineer, because this college is an engineering college. If you’re not a person that good in math or physics then this is not the college for you. It’s a great place if you want to be an engineer and you’re not good in math or physics they will help with your work and make sure you understand the work that was given to you by your teacher that what I gotten out of my school.

My college experience has taught me a lot about what I want to do with my life. I originally wanted to major in mechanical engineering, but Morgan State does not offer it, so I elected to take electrical and computer engineering. So far, I have found it to be a much better fit. Also, I've learned a lot of things in school that would take longer to learn if I had to learn them on the fly (ie because they're required for a job). I'm definitely much better-prepared for the workforce than I would have been if I had not gone to college.

College is a lot different than high school. My freshmen year of college I can say that I was homesick every day for about a month. The funny thing is I was only forty-five minutes away. My freshmen year was the best. I met a lot of friends; lifetime friends. Also my freshmen year was stressful. The transformation of high school and college is hard. You have to get use to learning by lecture and not being told what to study. You have to learn how to take notes without it being written on the board. Also you have to learn how to read your professor mind; there was many times my professor thought he told us he was giving us a quiz; but I soon learn it was the key words he said that meant there was a quiz next class. There are also no excuses in college, if you miss an exam, you miss it there’s no way you will be able to make it up. In college there’s midnight madness, awareness sit-ins, and etc. College teaches you how to grow up. College made me responsible for my own action.

I learned how to manage time. That was the biggest issue for me last year. It's hard to get out here on your own and do exceptionally well for the first time. My grades suffered because of this. But as I learned from my counsler, it is important not to overload your schedule. With everything I learned from my first year, I know what to expect and I expect to excel.

It is valuable to attend because it teaches us what we need to know in our desired career so we can pursue those dreams. Since I have been in college, I have met new friends, learned important information, built confidence, and worked harder. I believe that it has helped me build character, decide what I want to study, and tought me how to balance life responsibilities. Although I still have a long way to go, I believe when my college experience is over that I will be more knowledgable about life, other people, and most importantly my passion in life.

The experience i was given since i went to an HBCU have to be tremendous. I was fortunite to have the chance to see black men and women doing things positive with their lives. Since Morgan has many enthics of black people people i was able to learn many different culture such as African, Cero, Jamacian, and many other cultures. I charish these moment because the streotype are that all black people are the same and we all do the same things, but if you come to this campus you will learn quickly that thats not true.

If i could Go back and talk to myself as a senior in high school, i would began to tell myself to not give up in anything i do. I would encourage myself to work harder in class, at home, at work, in track and fied, in basketball, and in volleyball, because those things are what helped me get where i am today. I would tell myself to read more so i would be use to it by now. I would tell myself to continue with the mentoring programs that i was putting together for the younger generation, so that they would have the same advantages that i did. i would tell myself to save my money so that i can afford college so i wont struggle as i am at the moment. i would advise myself to get more sleep and so i will be well rested for the next day. The most important advice i can tell myself is to stay focused on my goal to be an engineer.
